First thing to note: they have a good happy hour menu. Check it out! I started with the crispy Brussel sprouts, from said happy hour menu. Yum! Add some protein, and that could've been my dinner. Upon my server's recommendation, I ordered the rigatoni and sausage... was it good? Well, I was pouted for about 20 minutes when I realized the leftovers were left behind on the hotel room fridge after I checked out and was halfway to Denver. Yeah. Saucy, a lil creamy and top notch Italian sausage. Yum. It started pouring rain as I was about to leave, so I pasted time by splurging on some tiramisu. Was it the best I've ever had? Truth be told, I'd give 4.5 stars if it was possible. However, Yelp won't change and in this case, it was closer to 5 than 4 stars. We visited while on vacation in the area. We wanted Italian food and definitely were not disappointed in our choice. It was very busy and outside dining was not a choice because of rain. We were flexible and took a seat along an area by the bar. Our experience didn't suffer as a result. Our server was very busy; however, she was attentive and took time to answer our questions and check on us during our meal. We started with cocktails. My dirty martini came out perfectly dirty and with the three olives I requested. Once we ordered, it did not take too long before our meals arrived. They were perfectly hot, generous in proportion and very flavorful. My Linguine Fra Diavolo was spiced nicely and surprisingly had many shrimp. My partner ended up bringing some of her ample meal home (hotel). We were honestly too full to get dessert, although the options sounded delicious. An odd thing for us was the lack of bread to accompany our meals. We could not think of a time when an Italian meal wasn't served without a bread. Nonetheless, our meals were great. Overall, we were looking forward to visiting and actually had a fairly good experience while we were at the restaurant. To start with the good - the brussels sprouts were crispy and flavorful (recommend!) and the kids menu was reasonably priced with good options. The pasta main was also solid, not exceptional but definitely tasty. Our server was absolutely lovely, she was the highlight of the visit! Unfortunately, we ordered the fish special which was halibut and noted that was a little mushy on one side (sadly towards the end of the meal). We stopped eating at that point, but alas, too late. The individuals who ate the halibut became profoundly ill overnight (with what was most certainly food poisoning based on the timing and duration), while the rest of our party who did not have the fish was just fine. The rest of the day was completely zero risk food, which left no other true culprits. We tried to reach out by phone and email without so much as any acknowledgement. During a recent trip to Silverthorne, I asked my hotel front desk for a dinner recommendation. Without hesitation, they pointed me toward Sauce on the Blue for their exceptional pasta. After a day of hiking, that was exactly what I was craving! When I arrived to order takeout, the young host was wonderfully welcoming and helpful. I opted for the Seafood Linguini with red sauce--the closest thing on the menu to a classic cioppino, which I was so excited for. Back at the hotel, I called the restaurant just to double-check my order (I tend to talk fast when I'm excited!). We realized that while I'd been charged for the Seafood Linguini, I had accidentally received the Clam Linguini instead. The host couldn't have been sweeter. She apologized with zero fuss and invited me back for the replacement meal. When I returned with the original box, she immediately apologized again and insisted that the restaurant did not need the Clam Linguini and suggested that I keep it since they would throw it out. She then ran back to the kitchen to fetch the correct dish. Moments later, the owner came out to personally apologize, handed me my Seafood Linguini, tossed in a free tiramisu, and generously comped the entire meal. I was honestly just happy to get my dinner, but their level of care completely blew me away. I don't write reviews often, but I had to take the time to recognize this team. Going above and beyond to make things right with such genuine kindness is rare. Between the unbeatable service and the absolute MUST-EAT Seafood Linguini, Sauce on the Blue has made a lifetime customer out of me when I visit Silverthorne. Really beautiful setting on the river with huge baskets of petunias on the patio. Friendly waitstaff and they jumped into action when an elderly lady fell on the ground and were kind and caring. We ordered the fried artichokes and caprese salad. They were huge! We could've shared the artichokes with about 4 people easily! The caprese had a nice green salad along with it. Perfect for 3. I split the bolognese with someone and it was delicious, meaty and chunky. It was something I'd have again. We shared carrot cake and it was enough for 2, but not that big. Md was shocked by the small size for the price. The amount of chicken was about half of a deck of cards total and they even skimped on the lettuce. Great spot on our way to skiing. Our server was very energetic and fun. We had a large table of 12 people and everyone enjoyed our time spent there for lunch. This place is tiny and boy do they pack em in! We decided to go for dinner after 7pm and had to wait about 20min. We were willing to sit wherever, but when we finally got seated we were at a bar top with a wall in front of us. I would have preferred the bar. The seating arrangement really sucked and definitely took away from our overall experience, but it was busy and I'm not sure there was much we could do. The waiter was always at our backs and reaching over us. People were walking down the walkway behind us knocking our coats off. Annoying. However we did enjoy the food and wine. The chicken Marsala was below average in my opinion, but we really loved the sausage rigatoni and mussels. The tiramisu was a hit for dessert. read more

After spending the entire day trying not to catch an edge and testing the limits of my insurance policy on the mountain, a friend and I rolled into Sauce on the Blue this past Friday. If you've ever been snowboarding, you know that post-mountain hunger is a different type of beast - I was ready to eat the menu and the table it was printed on. The place is actually a decent size with plenty of seating both inside and out by the river, so we didn't feel cramped even with the post-slope crowd. Our server was on point too--handled the Friday night rush without missing a beat, which I definitely appreciated. We started things off with the Fried Ravioli and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The ravioli was a solid, reliable appetizer, but those Brussels sprouts were easily the highlight of the entire night. They were seasoned perfectly and had that actual crunch you're looking for but rarely get. If you're stopping through, do yourself a favor and just order those immediately. For my main, I went with the Chef's Daily Special, which was a braised beef short rib served over mashed potatoes with asparagus. To be honest, it was a good, honest meal, but nothing that's going to live rent-free in my head for the rest of the year. The beef was tender and it definitely hit the spot after being out in the cold for eight hours, but it lacked that extra level of depth to make it truly memorable. It's a respectable mountain dinner--nothing to write home to my friends about, but a solid 7.5 out of 10. Overall, it's a dependable spot with a chill atmosphere. My husband and I recently had a lovely dinner at this Italian eatery. The space is warm and inviting, highlighting an impressive bar that displays more than a story high of bottles filled with liquors. The atmosphere is pleasant, with a nice balance of rustic and industrial charm. If you want a little privacy, the restaurant offer outdoor yurts. The place was very busy on a Sunday night, and we were glad we had made a reservation earlier that day. Our waitress wasn't particularly friendly, maybe a little overworked, but the food made up for it. Everything we tasted was delicious, and you don't want to miss the Tiramisu for dessert! I've been celebrating my birthday at Sauce on the Blue for the past three years, and this was the first year I left truly disappointed--so much so that I won't be returning. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. While the sauce was excellent, the mussels themselves were so extremely hot and overcooked that they burned my tongue and were difficult to swallow. I mentioned this to our server but said we would try to eat them. I then ordered the chicken marsala. It arrived quickly, smelled amazing, and looked beautiful--but unfortunately had the same issue. The chicken was not only scalding hot, it was so overcooked that I couldn't even finish chewing it. I had to push the plate aside. At this point, our server had not checked on us at all since taking our order--roughly 40 minutes earlier. A manager eventually stopped by and asked how everything was. I explained that it was my birthday, that we come every year, and described the issues with both dishes. She was kind, apologetic, and offered to replace the meal, which I declined. We continued sitting there while I had no food, and still our server did not return. I asked the host to get a manager again. The same manager came back, apologized further, offered dessert, and removed all food and drinks from our bill. She also offered a gift certificate to try again, which I declined, explaining that this experience was not what I expect from this restaurant. The food here is not inexpensive, and it should never burn a customer's mouth. Yes, I waited and blew on the food. Having two separate dishes with the same issue is troubling and, frankly, telling. The presentation was good, and the flavors--what little I could taste with a burned tongue--were acceptable. But quality food and attentive service are what I expect from Sauce on the Blue, and on this visit, both fell far short. Maybe this was a one-off or a bad night, but regardless, we won't be returning or spending our money here again. read more

The core pasta dishes, and the pizzash ere are excellent. The specials are expensive and can be hit or miss, especially the expensive ravioli. The service also can be wonderful, or terrible, it's a roll of the dice. The last time we visited, the server didn't introduce herself and was pretty disinterested in checking in on our orders, which were slow to arrive. A calamari dish we ordered was extremely salty, so they gave us an alternative dish, but charged us full price. Management definitely has not read any of the Danny Meyer books or articles on good hospitality. read more

We end d up spending $56 for less than an hour stay ... prob would have stayed longer and watched the soccer game but she just gave off a terrible vibe. We should've gone with our gut and got up and left when it took her 15" to bring us an ordered cocktail. Money is too precious to pay for an experience like this.
