Bully Ranch has great food and drinks. It hails as a casual dining restaurant but when we first arrived, I totally felt underdressed. The decor has an upper class, lodge-like feel (beautiful fireplace, exposed wood beams and rustic floors) and the diners were dressed in very tailored and tweedy country wear. Our waitress was very friendly and took our orders swiftly and we were served our meals in the same respect. Their pizza is made in a stone fired oven and is delish (get the Margherita). This is the only place we ate at twice during our stay. That says a lot because there are so many good places to eat in Vail. My husband had a cup of the Wild Boar Chili paired with the fajitas the first time and just had to go back to get a bowl of it the second time. He paired the bowl of chili with some wings and said they were fantastic. I got the hot honey fried chicken sandwich the first time and it was so good, the best I have ever had! the second time I told myself i would try something different so I got a cup of the tomato cheddar soup along with the hot honey fried chicken sandwich! It really is the best sandwich I have ever had and the soup was wonderful, it actually surprised me with how great it was! You just have to eat here whether it is inside with the charming western decor and pizza oven or outside on the lovely patio! I really wish i could give them more than 5 stars! read more

Overall, an average experience. Service was good and the food was excellent - especially the tomato soup and the potato tots, which were both outstanding. Dennis, the bartender, deserves a special mention for constantly helping throughout the dining room. However, the temperature inside the restaurant was unbearably hot. It felt close to 90-100 degrees, and when we asked if it could be lowered, we were told it was controlled by the hotel, so nothing could be done. We were uncomfortably warm the entire meal. On top of that, a "culinary fee" was added to the check without any prior explanation, which was an unpleasant surprise at the end. Great food and hardworking staff, but the extreme heat and unexpected fee made the overall experience just average. read more

Our table and me personally was bumped no less than 20 times by tone deaf service staff and we estimated that staff walked by our table bordering inside dining and outside dining at least 200 times. I typically am pretty easy going on service but this was bad. Super slow, couldn't get a water filled or find our waitress majority of meal, even though there were 5 tables occupied total.
