Mudslide. Is probably the most well known "dish" served here which is one of the best cocktails I've had, but on top of this they have incredible food !!! And many gluten free options. Everything was amazing truly. My burger with gluten free bun. Tater tots. Buffalo wings. Chili bowl. The salads everyone else had. Great outdoor / indoor dining as well and great vibe. Staple of Vail and a must ! read more

Cute place and prompt service. The buffalo burger, chili and tots were good. For our first meal in Vail, was hoping for amazing... but going with "good." read more

Incredible spot. The rest of the reviews on here are from people with room temperature IQ's that I don't think should leave their house. "People walking by our table" gimme a break. Food was spot on -- beers are big. Staff was great/fast. Causal set up. But it guess packed with big groups of people that should just door dash and be miserable on their couches at home. read more

We found this hidden gem for a late lunch after a long morning of shopping the Vail Farmer's market. We decided to give it a try and we were sure glad we did. Bully Ranch Restaurant - Burger and tots - American Near Me - Vail, Colorado

We have been eating here for 15 years. We stay at the hotel and love this restaurant. Consistently good food and drinks. Service may be a little slow but the ambiance and food make up for it. Bartender may not be as engaging as you would expect but she doesn't ruin the experience. read more

Bartender food service was terrible. Rude, no eye contact - she clearly didn't want to be working and it showed.

I was visiting my brother and his family for the weekend and they live within driving distance from Vail so they know the area pretty well. My older niece and nephew had ski team/instruction Saturday from 9-3, so we ate here when we got into town Friday night when we arrived. My brother and his 3 kids eat here often, so while he parked the car I was seated with my two nieces and one nephew. As an uncle, I don't really feel comfortable making decisions for the kids without input from their parents. So we just ordered drinks and waited. Our server was Bhaduri, and he was very understanding that I wanted to wait. As soon as my brother showed up, he was greeted very nicely by Bhaduri since he was their server for the past few times they've eaten here. I thought it was cool, super friendly and even with how busy the restaurant was for Friday night dinner he took the time to chat and say hello. Nephew ordered the kids burger with fries, both nieces ordered chicken fingers with fries. My brother ordered the Chicken sandwich with truffle park tots. I tried to order the flatbread but the oven was down. So, I settled for the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my side was their cheddar tomato soup. It ended up working out because if I ordered the soup and flatbread it would have probably resulted in double the cost. My chicken sandwich was spectacular. Not too hot, flavorful and the outside was very, very crunchy. The only negative was that the breading did not adhere to the chicken very well, I don't know if that can be addressed but it's a small problem which wasn't a huge deal for me since eating the breading pieces were like enjoying chips. My soup was super tasty, and it was a good portion as a side. Lots of cheese, since when you get a spoonful you have a cheese pull that is impressive. The kids know that they can get dessert here, clearly they know about the Brownie Sundae but we saw someone getting strawberry sundaes and so the older kids split one. For the young niece we ordered an order of chocolate ice cream. Halfway through they traded so everyone got a bite of each dish. The sundae was really good. Lots of whipped cream on top, vanilla ice cream in the middle, and strawberry compote and shortbread cookies in the bottom which was a fantastic surprise. Chocolate ice cream was two scoops, plenty for everyone to get some. This was a very busy place, I suspect that over the weekend they do a healthy business for the weekend tourists. When I'm back I will definitely be coming by here and trying something new the next time...and definitely getting my own sundae lol. Thank you Bhaduri for a great evening and fantastic service. Support small businesses! read more

This restaurant was conveniently located by our hotel so we ate here several times. It never disappointed. Service was beyond amazing every time we went. We sat right by the window and it was snowing so we got to enjoy the beautiful view, Definitely recommend! Pics of everything we've ordered below. We ordered the snickerdoodle martini. I guess if I want to be extremely picky I would say when my husband ordered this drink earlier in the day the rim was covered in cinnamon I believe. I ordered it later that same evening and nothing on the rim. Kinda disappointed because I feel like that was part of that specific cocktails "experience". It was still good and would still recommend. Walked in and waited a bit. Lots of open tables and empty seats at the bar. There were two parties ahead of me, waiting for tables but no hostess around. I finally walked to the bar to see if it was open seating. The bartender said he didn't know and to go wait at the hostess stand. I gave up. If a place is that organized when it isn't busy, I figured it would only get worse from there. read more

The menu is dynamite. Setting is great. Decor is nice. The restaurant has a tone. Our whipped ricotta app was great. The truffle oil tater tots are good. Not great. The service was not good. We waited a long time for everything. Son ordered a burger. It came out nearly rare. Wife's salmon sandwich was undercooked. Son's pizza came out after we finished eating. We had to track down staff when we wanted anything. I appreciate the fact that staffing is an issue. This was beyond that. Everything was undercooked, took forever. This place looks terrific on the menu. Execution is the drop off. I remember it being better last time. Add on note: our whipped ricotta app comes with bread. We asked for more bread. We got a plate with one piece of bread and a $1.50 charge for it. Overall sour on the restaurant. They can do better. As can you. read more

Great food at a reasonable price for Vail. Good food and good drinks. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed the food, drink and atmosphere. However, the service could have been better. He really did so good until the end, which is a big deal to me. The end of the meal service is where it's at. We waited a good 15 minutes for our check when we were done and ready to leave. Then 20% tip was included which was frustrating because I would have tipped him 18%. The fact I was obligated to tip for poor service frustrated me even more. It was great other than the service, so we will probably go again in hopes of getting a better server. read more

Got a last minute reservation for 5:45 , showed up at 5:30 and was seated early! Water was brought super fast, waiter came and took our order right away. We received our meals before we even got our drinks. Not kidding we got our food in less then 5 minutes after ordering... the ribs were good, the seasoned fries were not... just plain old steak fries. My friend got the chicken sandwhich and said it was good... the sauce was good... she ordered with the truffle fries which were tots with some parmesan had a great crunch though! Inside was cute... country style place. Definitely family friendly! read more

Bully Ranch Restaurant - Baby Back Ribs - American Near Me - Vail, Colorado

I loved this place. Atmosphere was Colorado rustic which I liked and staff was really friendly. It's attached to the Sonnenalp which I was staying at and they seemed to go above and beyond as far as helping you get a table last minute as a guest of hotel. Food was all very good and priced fair. Had the burger, delicious. Ribs, delicious. Nachos different and delicious with lots of cheese throughout. Chicken wings very yummy ( I was worried but bartender suggested we order extra crispy which was spot on for my taste. They rave about the truffle tater tots which I tried but unless your a tots fan I would rather enjoy truffle fries any day. Cocktails hmmm. Everyone has different taste but when it comes to a Kentucky mule I want a traditional cocktail so I savor the taste of the bourbon. Bouton, ginger lime should hit the tongue. Despite making sure I ordered a traditional I instead got a creative cocktail with some bitters in it. Kudos for creativity but with that drink not a fan. What impressed me about the service was a simple ask for a remake got a no hassle redo. Thank you. Highly recommend this wonderful establishment. Please keep in mind when reading reviews on vail that the clientele that frequent vail can "sometimes" have a little bit of an elitist/entitlement attitude about them. So take harsh reviews with that in mind. Cheers read more

How in the world is a hotel (where they charge a mint to stay at) have such a horrifically bad restaurant in it? For god sakes, learn how to cook protein to the right temp (chicken was basically sawdust and med-rare burger was just raw red pulp between a bun). Their "flat breads" are just flat-out-bad, the nachos were Iike eating a soggy bowl of cereal that's been sitting on the counter for too long, and the rigatoni with ragu was so awful I'd rather have eaten at the Olive Garden. It's basic food and they certainly charge enough for it to at least be passable. Really annoying to get a $350 bill at this place and realize McDonald's would have been more satisfying. It reflects poorly on an otherwise high quality hotel. Up your game. read more

We ordered 1 starter, it came with the food an hour later. The cook delivered charcoal instead of well done. The waitress failed to specify or the cook screwed up the burger toppings although we were clear about what to put on them. She also added cheese ($1) upcharge we didn't ask for and that our kids can't eat. The toasted bun was blackened/burnt and the overall ambiance was lack luster and loud. For over $170 for 3 burgers and 2 kids burgers, 1 beer and non-alcoholic beverages it was vastly overpriced and severely disappointing. read more

Five people in this party. For fun, we all rated our dishes 1-5. Here are the results: 5, 4, 4, 4, 4. For the two pictures you see, the burger was solid but not outstanding (4) and the Shrimp Caesar was good but overdressed (4). The 5 was the Portobello Mushroom Burger. Another advantage of this meal is that I have now gotten to the point where I can spell Caesar without autocorrect. I'm celebrating in my own mind. Having recently visited Caesars Palace helped as well (Vegas reviews soon). Getting back to Bully, the service was okay. It took a while to get drinks ordered, which shouldn't be complicated. The owner apologized without anyone complaining. This was cool, but my opinion of the service swung back to negative for one reason. When I was leaving and facing the people in my party for a brief second waiting for them, a waiter did a double-tap on my shoulder so I would move out of his way. He didn't say excuse me or anything. Not cool. Left with a bad impression. read more

Located inside Sonnenalp Hotel, Bully Ranch has a southwestern ranch feel to it. Known for its burgers, you need to come in early so that you can be seated right away. The place gets packed and loud. We arrived early and were seated promptly. We only noticed two waiters walking around. Not sure if they had more than one waiter. One came over and took our drink order: a very tart margarita made with casa dos amigos añejo. To me, it was outstanding but may be too tart for others. We placed our order: a cup tomato cheddar soup, the definitive burger and the bully bourbon burger. And then we waited. And waited. The tomato cheddar soup finally came out and it was tasty. Made with fresh ingredients, it was very good. I hadn't finished the soup when the burgers came out. The bully bourbon burger was supposed to be saucy but was dry and the truffle tator tots were room temperature which made them just ok. I never tasted the bourbon. On the plus side, the pickles were delicious! The burgers all have lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles served on the side. Oh! Apparently they also ad a 2% surcharge to your bill that goes entirely to pay tip for the back of the house. It was ok for a burger place. Pricey but I guess that's Vail prices for you. read more

Started with the wedge salad, which was kind of bland. For an entree, had the ribs, which were somewhat dry and weren't very flavorful. Overall, a pretty disappointing meal. I've eaten here before and enjoyed the food (burgers are usually terrific) so I'm not sure if it was just an off night in the kitchen, or if those specific items should be avoided, or if it's a downward trend in the restaurant. PS: I should add that the ribs came with about a million of the Truffled Tater Tots, which were delicious as always! read more

This was a great mid day pick me up. We sat outside on their patio and felt like a million bucks. There were four of us. We were seated quickly without issue. In my mind to get a 5 star review everything has to be perfect. There was a bit of a wait to order. They were trying, our waitress was running, literally. She deserved 5 stars and was tipped well. She was also very nice. Once she was able to get to our table everything was great. We ordered the Brussels the fig flat bread, the margarita flat bread and the wild boar nachos. It was all excellent. I liked that the nachos were not dry and that they start the dish off by putting a bunch of cheese at the bottom before they build the nachos. The fig flatbread was my favorite. It was simply delicious and there isn't anything I would change. The pricing was fair coming in around $25 per person. The patio was probably my favorite part of this experience. I felt like I was in Europe maybe somewhere around Munich at a beer garden. It helped that it was a nice day. This is a great spot. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

First, as always, the good stuff. The restaurant itself is very cool, and has a nice, cozy vibe. The western/cowboy decor borders on kitschy but keeps it just legit and authentic enough to not be corny. The patio (which we didn't sit at because it was raining) was gorgeous. The service was quick and friendly. Now, the not so good. We have four kids, so any eating out is an adventure. The kids (unfortunately ) ordered the Mac n cheese x2 and chicken fingers x2. The Mac n cheese was quality and home cooked (but $15 for a kids portion), and the chicken fingers were pretty bad (also $15 for a kids portion). My wife is gluten intolerant but they had several GF items on the menu. Unfortunately, upon a couple questions, we were informed that in fact those items were actually not gluten free. So she ended up ordering a barata salad and the tomato soup, both were GF and very good. Except they brought the salad with regular, non GF toast. They quickly fixed it, but it kept going from there. I had a bowl of green Chile which was fantastic, and a burger which was so so, and the truffle tots which were also awesome. At the end of the meal, I asked out of curiosity if they had any GF buns or other items, and the server said that they could make almost anything gluten free in the menu. Why in the world wouldn't she have said that when my wife was trying to find something to order?!? Finally, the lunch for the six of us ended up being $200, the highest we paid for any meal during our trip to Vail and Created Butte. I would have given the Bully Ranch three stars, but between the cost for what you get and the apparent indifference to dietary allergies, this place gets a two stars in my book, and a place we unfortunately wouldn't return to. read more

All three in our party ordered the Bourbon Burger. I ordered mine medium and what I received was more well. I ordered buffalo and was really looking forward to the flavor.
