Repeat visit from last fall. Its kinda hard to find unless you have been here before. After looking around the Village for cooler (temperature wise) place to eat, ended coming back here. The other two places we looked at was stuffy on hot July 4th weekend. Got lucky and grabbed the last patio seating. As expected, it was shady, cool and of course, great view of the creek. Cute patio on the creek! Super cute and very tasty. We shared a nice salad with grilled chicken and a three selection sorbet and gelato. The sorbet was gluten and dairy free. There was a farmers market so we had tasted some food from vendors so we're not hungry. Forgot to take pic of salad when it first arrived but the chicken was very tasty and we customized it to meet my allergy needs. Really nice spot to enjoy a great people watching meal. read more

hmm. Where to even start. Let's begin with drinks, I enjoyed my drink, the Dulce Vida Margarita. It was good with a little spice at the end. My boyfriend got the old fashion and it tasted like a straight shot of Jack Daniels Tennessee honey whiskey, which wouldn't be bad if it didn't cost 15... To sandwich in a positive, the crab cake appetizer was delicious, just be warned if you're sharing it only comes with one. The sauces really elevated the crab cake and added an extra umph Next, the entrees... this is where it went down hill real quick. The braised short rib with Gouda Mac and cheese was tasty but the portion was very small, imagine a 1/4 cup of Mac spread around and 3 asparagus... My boyfriend ordered the pork belly and scallops. For $38, there was a small piece of overly salted pork belly and two tiny scallops (maybe the size of a quarter). The ocean is 139 million square miles, I'm sure we could've picked a few bigger ones... Honestly, I wouldn't mind the small portions if the food was mindblowing, but I wasn't wowed. Ambiance was nice, if a little low-energy. Adult food was fine, decent portion sizes for the price for the starters. Service was also fine, polite but not particularly welcoming. I have a very specific complaint, but it just leaves me with a bad taste about this restaurant. The main reason we chose to eat here is that the kids' menu looked reasonable for Vail ($8-9 for plain noodles, which is what our young kids wanted). When we arrived, the only pasta dish on the kids' menu was over $20 for spaghetti and fancy meatballs. Ultimately, they still made plain noodles for us but charged $14 per meal. If you want to feel up the creek without a paddle, go to this aptly named restaurant. Our party of 4 walked in and requested an outdoor table. The wait was 30 minutes and they told us they'd call us on our phone when the table was ready. The middle aged, tall and slender man who was hosting (maybe manager or owner?) was incredibly rude. Of course, an hour goes by and no call. We walk back to the restaurant and they said they called us 3 times. They didn't. Despite that, I just couldn't believe the blatant rudeness of this man. If you want to throughly enjoy Vail, consider avoiding the energy at this restaurant and go to one of the many other places who don't take customers for granted. read more

Food is delicious. Can't comment on the service because I got takeout. The outdoor patio is very nice with a nice creek view. Order takeout for lunch one afternoon, got a soup and a salad with fish. Everything is pricey, which is to be expected. The food was packaged well with the fish and the salad package separately and nice set of utensils in my bag. The ambiance can't be beat, but I found the food to be mediocre, especially for the price. I got a salmon dish that tasted like they spread orange marmalade on top of it. It was way too sweet and sticky, and there was way too much of it. It was hard to eat. I added one scallop to the dish as a side, and that was delicious. So maybe stick to scallops. However, all that being said, sitting on the creek outside is quite lovely. Maybe next time, I'll just come for a drink. read more

Exceptional dining experience. Wife got a pesto shrimp pasta special. I got the beef shank. Both spectacular. We dined at night in the winter but you still had a nice view of the stream outside. We were iffy on keeping our reservation here after seeing mixed reviews (mostly complaints about the ambience), but we were SO happy that we kept it. The ambience was wonderful. Quiet, right on the creek, nice tables inside, lovely restaurant. I think the wire tables on the patio were a little underwhelming but I understand that that is patio seating. The food was wonderful. They had gluten free items marked on the menu and everything sounded heavenly. My husband had the trout and I had the scallops and shrimp and we loved our meals. The patio right on the river was amazing. The food was delicious, however the timeliness of the food delivery was poor. We ordered the braised steak, the berry salad and the clam chowder. The clam chowder and braised steak came out fast, and then I had to wait, (oddly enough), for my berry salad to come out, almost twenty minutes later. And when the salad finally came out, it was missing the dressing. Overall great food and atmosphere... but the food delivery aspect of this restaurant could definitely improve. read more

We all loved the ambiance the minute we walked into the door. Cozy and comfortable. The food was amazing. The flavors of the calamari appetizer were delicious. This was a great place to eat out. The best thing about it is that it's literally next to a creek, and we got to sit and watch it flow with all the snow around it. The location is amazing and makes it desirable to me, at least. The food, for the most part, is good. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas. They were 20 bucks but only for enchiladas, no sides. I tried a bite, and it's definitely not your everyday enchiladas you're used to. It was good, though, but not 20 dollars good. I ordered a quinoa burger with Swiss cheese mushrooms and a side of fries along with chicken tortilla soup. All of it was amazing. The only downfall with the quinoa burger is that it instantly fell apart, which made it harder to eat without looking like a hot mess. For dessert I of course got one of my favs and that is creme Brule. It was to die for! The service was great! Overall a cute place, but I don't think I will come back unless they change up the menu a little more. read more
