The service was almost non existent for my visit as the restaurant could've been low on staff, but had to go to the bar to order drinks, and our waiter showed up once to take out plates away. I saw this happening to other people as well. But for a bar in a small town I grew up in, this place is decent. This is a dive bar. Nothing wrong with a dive bar but you need to be aware before you visit. This is not some G Wagon haven like many restaurants in CO. I can fit in nearly anywhere and even I felt a little out of place. The locals only vibe was strong but we felt no animosity from said locals. In fact, the service was pretty friendly albeit a little slow. The burger was solid. I love a good burger and theirs would qualify. The fries were decent but nothing special. Hand cut fries would've been an improvement. But the burger seemed hand formed and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I love a hole in the wall with great food. This place fell a bit short on the chow. Cool dive bar vibe in the village. We're finishing our trip out of EGE tomorrow and needed a quick bite. Not many options but here we are. Our server was super nice and attentive. My captain is kind of a pita with food. She patiently asked what he was looking for and modified on of the burgers to match. I went with the BC avocado. I skipped the special sauce as cilantro tastes like a moldy flip flop to me. The thing looked awesome but a few downfalls. The brioche bun was crumbly and soft as a pillow would have been preferred. Romaine lettuce is a neat idea but the ribs were humongous and took away. My husband and I were just in town for the day before an early morning flight from Eagle home to Florida. I found this place on Yelp and it was an easy 15 minute walk from our hotel on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The small downtown we walked through was very quiet, but when we opened the door to Brush Creek Saloon, we felt like we found the whole town! The place was packed on a Saturday around noon, but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. We saw that many people had ordered the Bloody Mary so we got the same thing and were NOT disappointed! The bartender even brought me a whiskey glass filled with all their pickled garnishes- yum. To eat, my husband and I split the fiery poutine and chorizo breakfast burrito, which was MORE than enough for us to share. The pork green chili that smothered the burrito was so flavorful, and the perfect sauce to swish the home fries around in. I want to make sure I shout out the service there. What a gem of an eatery! Stopped by here after a long road trip and were delighted with everything about it. Dani, the waitress, was charming, gracious, efficient and super friendly! I didn't really want to go here for dinner tonight but after eating here I must admit that I was impressed. The atmosphere is dark and almost confusing. The name and atmosphere is a bit dark and saloon'sh (as the name implies), the music is Irish/hip-hop, and then they have Mexican Beer salt and pepper shakers. Overall I didn't care for the atmosphere. It was too loud to talk and too dark inside. It feels like a bar that wants to let people dance and also serve food. The food was fantastic though. I had the bacon avocado burger and it was great. The fries that came with it were fresh cut (the waitress tried to imply they were healthy because they were fresh cut. It was amusing). Everybody else was impressed with their food as well. The steak sandwich was another popular item and the quesadilla was almost as thick as it was wide. My family and I walked into the saloon and had an immediate silent awkwardness as if they never had this many brown people walk in at once. It was a total of 4 of us. I felt it the moment we walked in however I didn't let that bother me. Once my cousin started speaking is when things got weird. He has a very thick French accent and was asked by the server (who was the only nice person in the building at the moment) where he was from. He explained being from France but having a Portuguese & African background. Every time my cousin spoke, it was like the entire saloon would go quiet so they could listen. That also didn't bother me, at first. Then, I over heard a man say "Obrigado" in a very dramatic way amongst him and his bar friends. I heard it, but I was like nahhhh, no way. Then! After my cousin talking again, a few minutes later another dramatic hands in the air, facing our table comment was said by the same "Obrigado" guy (didn't hear exactly the words this this time) so I didn't react. I still wasn't 100% sure that I was feeling what I thought I was feeling. The final straw was when my sister got up to go to the bar to ask where the restroom was. A lady in green, I'll never forget this woman, said "wooow" and some other things to the "Obrigado" guy and another person sitting with them said "I'm a bad bitch" with his hands up. Let me tell you, my sister is one bad bitch so please, say it again, but with respect this time. Anyways, that's when I knew that all the mockery & expressions was towards my family and that this was actually happening. The reason I'm giving this place a 1 star review was because the entire bar, including a brunette bartender, observed and participated in the conversation when my family was being mocked. I've experienced racism before but never this level. Shame on everyone who allowed that conversation to continue. Shame on the establishment for continuing that conversation because it was a damn good tasty racist burger. I'm very well aware that we were the highest paying guests there at the time and gave our nice server a fat tip regardless of the miniscule class of patrons at Brush Creek Saloon on that evening. So let me start with the type of people that frequent this establishment. They would be able a 20 something female, wearing a black corset top and barefoot in the dead of winter. Next to her would be a man old enough to be her grandfather that enjoys listening to Lionel Richie. On the other side of the bar would be the stalker like loaner with a large tattoo on his neck that is just dying to come on over and invite himself into your conversation. However, the staff was good. The front door guy was funny and quick witted. The bartender was cute and friendly and I think the drinks were cheap.
