Tuna poke really good
Magda C.

This was surprisingly good and great location in the Solaris shopping center. Service was great, our server explained quantity and offered modifications as needed. Both lobster salad and tuna poke had a good quantity of fish for the $20 price and the brownie was huge and definitely homemade. Will definitely go back.

a bowling alley with menus and drinks

We had an absolute blast at BOL with our family. The environment is over the top nice, they even have fancy bowling shoes ! The food is not at all what I expected for a bowling ally....the kids had steak and fries and buttered pasta with grilled chicken. The adults had the undon noodle lettuce cups, a Rueben with super fries, and the Halibut with orzo and asparagus. Every thing was VERY good but the Halibut was fabulous! In addition we had several of the mock-tails which were the best I've ever had. I had a no-groni and liked it better than the real thing. The service and staff were friendly and welcoming. This is more of a fine restaurant with bowling for kicks on the side. I highly recommend a visit to BOL.

Great spot for appetizers & cocktails after a long day on the slopes! Lots of big screens to watch March madness

I came here for the opening social event of a conference I went to in August. The hosts had reserved the whole bowling area and had the restaurant cater the event. I thought it was great. The lanes are very modern with full automatic scoring and are in great shape. The bowling balls have 3" high numerals showing their weight and are displayed in weight order near the desk so you don't have to struggle to find the one you want. The shoes are also well maintained and in great shape. So, although I don't bowl worth beans, it was fun and we weren't struggling to get bowling or having to mess with equipment issues. While we were bowling, the food was served. Garlic oil on potato chips - the thick chips were made a little soggy by this mix of oil, garlic and parmesan, but very tasty. Great stuff! Crudite plate - cucumber, radish slices (mongo asian radish). Hamburger sliders with bacon - the most awesome sliders! Had a bit of blue cheese in them, too. Thick, juicy and tender. Wonderful after a long day of travel to get to Vail. This was the star of the eating for me. Teriyaki pork rib - my second favorite thing! Not dried out, but still juicy with fall off the bone tenderness. There were other good things, but those were my favorites. They served some desserts that were also good. My favorite was the apple turnover with ice cream. The crust was flaky and tender as if it was house made (it could have been, I should have asked). They also had some killer chocolate chip cookies. BTW, one nice thing they added is to have hand sanitizer at each bowling lane table and lots of napkins. The staff was super attentive yet not intrusive. When in Vail and having the combo bowling and munchie thing happening - go Bol!

Had a great time here. Shoutout to the host and alley staff. Everyone was welcoming and gracious. We shared a few apps while bowling and the food was delicious, definitely not your run of the mill alley food. Highly recommend for a fun night out with friends or family.

Really enjoy the food and service. Was able to watch games but not feel like I was in a bar. Food was amazing! Definitely going to come here again.

This place is awesome. My friends invited me for bowling in the back and we had a blast and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The menu looked so good that I came back the next night for dinner and was very impressed. The short rib sliders were amazing, also highly recommended the muscles and lamb lollipops and Tomahawk (pictured). Definitely coming back next time I'm in Vail.

Pretty nice atmosphere. Came here for an event. Food was ok. Only disappointment is that they don't have any fingertip balls.

Dinner reservations are available 30 days out on Open Table, and they go instantly. I heard them quote 2+ hours for walk-ins, so definitely plan ahead if you can! Cocktails: I've always loved their cocktails, so even if you don't have dinner here, you should at least check out the bar. I've never been disappointed in any drink I've gotten. Dinner: - Butternut baba ganoush: all the flavors of baba ganoush but with butternut squash, and the warm pita was great - Fire roasted tomato and chorizo soup: a bit on the thinner side, smoky, interesting - Buttermilk sea salt biscuit: rich, flaky, with extra butter, country ham, and red pepper jelly - Warm pimento cheese: I don't usually care for pimento, but their's is great with grilled bread. They also use this on their burger at lunch - Wood grilled octopus: nice wood fire flavor, great ham hock beans underneath, grilled avocado - Crispy brussels sprouts: interesting flavor with the grilled avocado sikil pak - Wood fired pork chop: tender, generously sized - Grilled cobia: wonderful warming pineapple coconut curry, charred pineapple, and fresnos for a kick - Seafood diavolo: very flavorful (my dad found it too salty), served over polenta Lunch items: - Fresh catch: Argentenian shrimp and polenta - like shrimp and grits, very flavorful - Grilled cheese and soup: always a good combo - Burger: we added the onion rings, which had a good kick to them They also had a really solid kids' menu, which I appreciate. Despite how busy they are, service is attentive, and the manager came by personally to check in, which was a nice touch. Food and drink pacing was also good despite it being packed. They have their system down! There's a reason why we keep coming back trip after trip!

Other employees helped with service, including clearing plates and inquiring if we needed anything. The restaurant is definitely number one at customer service and I loved how everyone worked together. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel lost in the shuffle. It was clean and inviting. They offered an array of choices, so there would be something for everyone if you decide to dine here. The food was good, preparation and display were done carefully, but the taste was overall just ok. The appetizers we chose were Warm Pimento Cheese, which was mildly flavorful, but good, and Prime Beef Carne Apache, which had no flavor at all. The main courses we chose included a pork dish and a chicken dish. The chicken had great flavor, but was placed on a bed of potato wedges which were not all completely cooked through. We felt this took away from the overall dish. The accompanied sauce made with yogurt and poppyseed did not add any flavor to the dish. The pork dish had great flavor. The drinks accompanying the food were made well and tasty. The kids menu has an array of choices as well, and our choice of macaroni and cheese was a hit! We ended with a frozen snicker bar dessert that tasted exactly like a frozen snickers bar. Overall, we had a very nice evening and would definitely visit again.

It was pretty quiet (still off-season), and my husband and I were the only ones there when we walked in around 10. We sat at the bar and had a lovely conversation with Jeremy; I ordered the Gingerbread Man (take on an old fashioned with brown butter washed bourbon, and my husband got the "50 Shades of Green" - definitely one of the most unique cocktails we've ever tried! The description "arugula infused gin, yogurt washed aquavit with Pandan herbs & lime" - it had everything - some sour, some umami, some sweet from the Pandan - what a fun and unique cocktail. Shortly after we walked in, a huge group of 10-12 women walked in followed by some other groups shortly after them. It was a really fun atmosphere and both cocktails were 10/10.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

I tried the porcini mushroom soup with truffle dumplings and all of it was delicious and savory and warm, and even served with a delightful carnation on the side! For the main course I tried the pork shank (Schweinsaxon?) and the meat was fall off the bone good. The mashed potatoes were tasty but the sauerkraut was truly phenomenal. It's not a bargain meal, but it's not nearly as expensive as it could be, being tucked into Vail and visited by a very wealthy cadre of visitors. The service was also great. I commented on one of the waitstaff's steampunk goggles and he asked if I wanted to try them on for a photo op. I declined, but laughed at the invitation. All our questions were answered with politeness and ease, and I was quickly taken care of when I asked to buy a slice of cake on the way out. The amount of fondue was absolutely paltry, especially given it was supposed to serve two people and cost $80. We had a nearly full basket of bread remaining after eating all the cheese. They also provided boiled potatoes and blanched vegetables to dip in the cheese along with dried fruit but that only made the meager cheese situation worse. It was more appetizer sized and even the fondue itself was bland and lackluster with no flavors of kirsch, wine, or other seasonings. We had to go somewhere else to actually get dinner. I appreciate the waiter discounting our meal to try and make up for it. The portions of the other entrees looked good so maybe go here for those and skip the fondue.
