Boiling Point doesn't give off a very authentic hot pot vibe, but the food is good regardless. I usually get the kimchi hot pot, which I think is pretty good. The ice cream macarons are delicious! Some say they are overrated but they're still yummy. That said, the service here could use some serious work. First, be prepared for a long line - whether you're at the Chinatown/Seattle or Bellevue locations. Waiting times can range from 15 minutes to 45, and sometimes even more. I wouldn't say it's worth the 45-minute (or longer) wait. At that point, perhaps just go to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot across the street and see if the wait is shorter. Second, last time I visited, I was with two other friends and my order came out in 10 minutes while my friends' orders came out 40 minutes after that. The waitress never even stopped by to see why there was only one hot pot order on the table despite there being three customers. After trying to get multiple waiters'/waitresses' attention, one person finally stopped at our table. The two remaining orders came out shortly after, but we got the impression that they had just started cooking them after we called it out. Plus, because we waited so long, my food started getting soggy, the noodles swollen, and the broth cold (they had forgotten to turn on the heat for my hot pot). Fortunately, one friendly waiter helped us at the end, and he was super nice and helpful, offering suggestions on what the best ice cream macaron flavors are and checking in on a regular basis for water refills, etc. I guess this place is a hit or miss in terms of service. People complain about the service but honestly it's refreshing not to have someone asking me every 10 minutes if everything is all right. If you want something, then one of the 3-5 people walking around will help you lightning quick. The wait can be really long at times but it's definitely worth it. Try to have your group be 4-5 people at max. Having a larger group will be a longer wait. They close at 11 but stop sitting people around 10:30 as that's the latest they'll take an order. Tip: Lunch pricing is before 3. That means if you sit down at your table and order at 2:58, you'll still get the slightly discounted hot pot price and free tea. I live in Texas, we have a similar place called Boiling Wok. I was told by a couple of friends that Boiling Point is waaayyy better. We came here on a Saturday night, we walked in and they have a cool ticketing system that puts you in a que. You can either get a paper print off or get it texted to your phone. Pretty Cool and very efficient. Once your number is called you have 10 mins to claim your table or else you forfeit it to the next person. We took a quick glance at the menu, they have a couple of hot pots that are smaller and then they have a couple of hot pots that are bigger (noted with a "L"). We chose to get a smaller one and got beef to share. We also ordered a milk tea and a passion fruit green tea. Food service was very fast, we got our food before we got our drinks or bowls. They had sauces on the side but I think the hot pot has more than enough flavor without sauce. There's plenty of meat and the pot is super hot! The beef hot pot had a small curry flavor which I didn't really like. We got it medium spicy and it definitely had a small kick. I enjoyed our drinks more than the food, we tried many boba places around Seattle and their boba game is not on point. I haven't had BP in such a long time because I moved from Cali to here not knowing that there was BP here. So when I found out I was exceedingly excited to eat hotspot again. OMG!! Ive been avoiding BP for months since the last time I had it because it was so watered down and barely had any flavor that I just couldn't pay for another hot pot again. But my sister was sick and I was home from work so I asked if she wanted BP for lunch. They have a new numbering system which is pretty neat but service today was unbelievable slow. Took like 15 min for our teas and 20min for our hot pot to come out. I was thinking the soup was going to suck today but was really surprised when we finally received our food. My sister always orders the Taiwanese spicy and I always get the Thai flavor. Both of our soup were so flavorful today and it seems like they started using fresher/better ingredients because we both notice the meat had a way better taste and the clams that came with out soup were actually big with meat. Really great improvement with the flavors and the ingredients. I will definitely start coming back for hot pot now that I see the changes they have made. I don't know why, but I love the food here. So much, that I crave it all the time. The reason for my 3 stars, is because of the service. On weekends, be prepared to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a table. I think it sucks how they only give you one napkin. If you want more, then you have to ask for it. Same with water. Their drinks are phenomenal though. It's 1000x better than Oasis Tea Zone which is located across the street. I really enjoy the Winter Melon Juice, Lemonade with Chia Seeds, and Sweet Milk! I don't recommend the Strawberry soda though. It was pretty average in my opinion. They validate parking, so that's a plus. Just remember to bring your parking ticket in with you. Something that sucks, is how long they take to bring the check. They can obviously tell that you're done eating, but they continue to pass by your table without acknowledging you. It's gotten to the point where my roommate and I, just walk up to the front to pay instead. It's pricey in my opinion, but I keep coming back even though the food is subpar. I guess it's the drinks that reel me in. On a side note, they do offer free green or black tea during lunch! Which ends at 3 PM. If you check in before 3 PM, but end up getting seated after 3 PM, then they won't give you the free tea. Ok first of all i hate giving negative reviews but they truly deserve it.. they were super late on the food, i got my hotpot first and then 23 mins later my gf's food arrived...they were not apologetic at all... they gave us the wrong drinks, even though we confirmed twice on what we wanted.. my rice was rock hard by the time it was too eat.. the waiter was hard to flag, didnt have any time to assist our table for just ONE refill of water... Not terribly impressed with the flavor of the broths. They had a strong scent/flavor of the sterno. The shrimp was not cleaned out. The server just said that was just the way the shrimp was served. We asked for more ginger, and the server said he could not provide us with any. We even offered to pay for more, and he insisted that he still could not do it. Boiling Point is a great little place for little personal hot pots that are just big enough to share or to just have to yourself, the broth has a good mixture of flavors and meats. I had the #4 (Beef) which looked liked one of the basics and came jam packed with lots of meets and other delicious unidentifiable things, also the heat level seemed pretty spot on with a great amount of spicy just to suit your taste, I went with a Medium spice level which felt just enough with a kick but not too much that your burning your tongue. Speaking of burning your tongue the hot pot stays very hot for about the first 30 minutes and begins to cool down as the flame dies down, which leaves you with just enough time to take in everything. Also one last thing that was a good addition to the food was the sauces, they added a light enhancement to the meat or whatever you was dipping in it, I went with the Bean Curd Paste and I was fine with just that the whole meal. Overall Boiling Point is a trendy personal/shareable hot pot place that features robust broths with good mix of flavors from the meats and boast a little louder then usual atmosphere and looks likes it's mostly comprised of the transfer students within the area and is very known to the local Asian community. Though everything from the broth to the experience is great, one little critique I have is the portion size which seems a little small for its price point but then I am a big eater so I'll leave it to you make that judgment. read more

BP is always crowded for dinner so if you do decided to go just know you'll have to wait a while. However once you order the food comes out in about 5 mins. Parking is plentiful and validated. I really liked the ambiance of this restaurant. Very modern, warm, and casual. I ordered the beef hot pot and I wasn't so impressed. I expected bold flavors and a good amount of ingredients in the hot pot but that wasn't the case. In the menu it said it comes with vermicelli noodles and literally there were 2 or 3 strands of noodle in the bottom of the hot pot, a small piece of corn, not too much beef, and majority just the broth. I think they do that on purpose so you can order extra side orders of beef, noodle, etc. Its definitely not a place I will "crave" or "miss." If it wasn't for the special sauces they provide (flavored soy sauce, hot sauce) it wouldnt be that great. But a good hot pot shoudnt need sauces to make it taste better. Hot pot flavor itself should shine on its own. Also for the ice cream macaron, it was very very tasty. Probably one of the best desserts i had. But for the size, it shouldnt be priced at $4.50. TL;DR: good branding + good interior, good atmosphere, good food, good drinks, excellent desserts! I was there today, was in for early dinner, arrived at around 4:50/5-ish, there was no waiting list or anything so that was nice. Ordered their appetizer tofu (server actually warned me that it's gonna be stinky, which is a nice warning to receiving if you didn't know), their Thai hot pot, milk green tea, all 5 flavor of snow cube & a macaroon ice-cream sandwich. The tofu did stink, my boyfriend was hesitate to try, but when he did, he loved it and thought it tasted sooooooo much better than it smelled. the tofu was firm, not the crispy kind, but was still packed with umami, and tasty. Mind that this dish is pretty spicy, fortunately I had the milk tea there with me to save my life. Their thai hot pot was $15.99, came with a bowl of rice, I also ordered Udon noodle on the side to put into the pot. The pot also has tons of seafood(whole scrimps, crab leg, clams, squid rings & octopus), a variety of vegetables & mushrooms. I thought the soup base was a little bland, but still tasty. Their milk green tea was fantastic! Tasted very authentic, not like any americanized boba places. I'd say their drink menu is a "must-visit" for any foodies. OKAY, let's get SERIOUS, their desserts, SO GOOD. I order their snow cubes in all of their available flavors, so on point, every single one of them. Their macaroon ice cream sandwich, again, on point. Best macaroon crust I've had on an ice cream sandwich. Boiling point is hands down one of my favorite spots to eat at. For me, it's the ultimate comfort food. Although it's definitely expensive, (about $20-$25 with the soup and boba), it's usually worth it for me because it's so delicious. One of my favorite parts about it all is the sauces they offer. I love any kind of spicy sauce and boiling point has some really good flavors. I always mix the chili oil, garlic bean paste, and a little bit of the garlic soy sauce. It's the best sauce to dip your meat and other ingredients into. The customer service in the Chinatown location is not the best but the food pretty much makes up for it. I would also recommend going at lunch because it's about a dollar cheaper for the same serving size of soup AND you get a free (yummy) black or green tea. I also add a side of instant noodles and YUM. I get overwhelmed by all the goodness!! Needless to say, it's one of my favorite spots to eat and is SO GOOD! This place is neat, has a cool atmosphere and good food and would have received higher ratings except the service was lacking and the experience of payment at the end beyond difficult for our group of six. Allow me to explain. First there was a decent wait (40 minutes) - typical for any good restaurant. But then, once seated we were completely ignored - for ordering and every. Single. Time. We. Needed. Anything.... we had to literally wave our arms, sometimes collectively, at them to flag them over. And we were treated like it was an inconvenience to serve us. However we made through the meal relatively cheerfully. Until it came time to pay our bill. When all that was needed was a split check. Simple, right?? Nope. Not here. Apparently they "don't know how to do that" and their system can't do that either. When we asked if we could pay by items ordered they said no. They sent us back to the table (which had already been cleared & cleaned) and gave us a calculator to do the math. Luckily we had an accountant in our group who knew the exact tax rate etc. and calculated everyone's order and wrote it all old school on the back of the receipt. What an ordeal! I told my server I wanted the Japanese hot pot and she did give me a warning that it is rather large in portion(later I realized small words printed on the menu that it was served in a larger portion). Nevertheless, I decided to try it anyway. I also got the Hokkaido milk tea which is super sweet!:) Food Portion was BIG, quality so so. I'm not a big fan of the instant noodle that you can additionaly order. I'd try something else next time, wasn't fully satisfied with the taste. As the server warned me, I couldn't finish my meal:( Would recommend to share larger portion hotpot.
