Stopped here while traveling!! Will definitely be coming back! Service was amazing and food was spectacular! Husband and I both had the 3 meat plates. He had the St. Louis ribs, pulled pork and brisket. I had the sausage, brisket and beef rib!! Delicious!!!!! Corn bread was great! I got a side of the mushrooms and they were to die for!! We also were able to take our dog because they had a dog friendly patio. We're also given a few scraps for our dog which he loved!!! We can't wait to stop by again on our way through town.

Love Bobby Q! I only come every couple years or so but it's always so good. I usually do some chicken or the bbq chicken salad but today I indulged in the nachos. I got the lunch sized nacho as it was only 9.50 plus 3.50 for the pulled chicken. Sydney recommended it and it was a great choice. Tons of meat for that price and tons of food for the lunch sized portion. On top of that you get their amazing corn bread muffins and the cinnamon sugar mini donuts on the house. Tons of good food for the price and great service. The ambiance is a typical bbq joint but it's a big place and in good shape. Make sure you go if you haven't :) They have really good drink options too. Also, they cater and have some event space too.

Sometimes the national hype of a place can lead you to believe a place isn't worth your time. I know most of us want that small mom and pop place support local and that's a great aspiration to have, keep supporting local and small business. Just don't forget about consistent great places either they need our support as well. Wife and I wanted to sneak out for a quick date night on HH and hadn't had BBQ in a while so I suggested Bobby Q's. Plenty of seating as this place is huge but especially in the bar area where happy hour runs to 6pm. Ordered a few drinks from Kat and a plate to split. The food was promptly served and the drinks were delicious. Portions were plenty to split and enjoy some time hanging out away from our busy schedules for about an hour with no rush from the staff. Perfectly seasoned and cooked prime rib delicious twice baked potato and broccoli. As always enjoy the small but the staples need us to support them as well otherwise they'll disappear and when there this good it's worth it.

I was excited to try Bobby Q with an average 4.5 star rating and 5k+ reviews. Four of us had lunch here on Friday and were able to take advantage of the lunch menu they offer on weekdays from 11-3. During lunch, they also offer the full dining menu. We started off with the famous Q rolls: the meat was salty but the "roll" wrapping was light and crispy. I liked it paired with the chipotle ranch which added a creamy kick and balanced it out. Bob's salad (small) was a good portion size and easily shareable. There was a generous amount of chopped chicken breast but it was dry. The rib tips were also dry, stringy and salty. Not a lot of meat on those. The St. Louis spare ribs (really meaty!) were a lot more moist, but were salty as well. Fries also super salty. The side of corn was ok and so was the pecan coleslaw. Very good, attentive and knowledgeable service though. We were educated on St Louis vs baby back ribs! The complimentary cornbread and mini donuts were the highlight for us. Yum!

My college baseball teammates and I are making it a tradition to do a reunion trip to Phoenix every year for Spring Training, and Bobby Q's is firmly a part of that tradition. Been here back to back years now and it has not disappointed one bit! We make a reservation in advance for our big party of 12-14 and the wait staff handles us exceptionally well. Big tables to accommodate all of us, efficient order taking and delivery, and always on top of their game with the complimentary goodies (cornbread, donuts for dessert, and two free brownies + ice cream for the two birthday boys)! And the restaurant ambiance is really great; a cross between a ranch house and an upscale restaurant, with sports games playing on all of the TV's above the bar. Always great vibes! - Two meat combo: Baby back ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the brisket just melts in your mouth. Both bursting with smoky goodness. And you can't go wrong with any of their sides: I got BBQ beans and mashed potatoes this time, but their Mac & cheese is also killer. - Cornbread: unlimited refills, some of the best cornbread I've had in my opinion. Very soft, buttery, and surprisingly light.

Leo II ..

I was skeptical at first but it was good, im not gonna lie. Now with their Mac and cheese they should just "stop it". Thanks all I'm gonna say. Otherwise this place and service is stellar.

This place is so cool! I actually didn't really have high expectations, but it was way better than I thought and I was surprised how everyone was so friendly. Also their price was reasonable as their plate is HUGE. The portion is like so big, well I loved it haha Their brisket was like melt in my mouth. I got smoked chicken wings, and they were soooo yummy, I'd get chicken wings again!

Hayden our Server is so pleasant and efficient, just a pleasure to have her as our Server, made the dining experience memorable. Had the Friday Night Fish (COD) Fry, marvelous.

They advertise themselves as being the world's best bbq. I'm not sure how that happened or if it ever did. I love bbq and I have sampled bbq at a lot of places so I feel my opinion comes from experience. I realize that opinions can be subjective because of different tastebuds and preferences. The building is nice and there is ample parking. We were greeted as we walked in and seated almost as quickly. Our server was very nice and didn't hurry us while we perused the menu. Two of us ordered brisket sandwiches and one in our party ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The brisket for me was rather dry and the other person in our party who ordered thought his was more moist. The one sauce they provided wasn't to my liking. I found out later that my server should have offered another sauce option but failed to do so. So I ate a dry beef brisket sandwich with no sauce. Everyone agreed that it was average bbq and unanimously we agreed the prices were too high. With higher prices comes higher expectations for quality and or quantity. It was a nice place, very noisy, service was good, food was average and prices were high. I have eaten at 5 bbq restaurants in the Phoenix metro area and in my humble opinion this would be ranked 5th of those 5 spots in food quality but highest in price. I won't be returning unless someone invites me and spends their money.

Sliced Beef Brisket, Mac n Cheese, Buttered Brocoli

2nd time coming here, the food is so delicious. I love a good brisket. Mac n Cheese is also very good, very creamy. Texas twinkies are a great appetizer, jalapeños filled with cream cheese and brisket, wrapped in bacon. They also give you complimentary cornbread with butter and when you check out mini sugar donuts. FYI, I could not finish my plate because of how full I was lol. Ambiance is very nice with dimmed lighting, no harsh lighting like other restaurants. Had a great experience with our waiter Dylan.

Food: Visiting my sister and decided to try Bobby Qs. I found the food to be ok. I'd give it a 7/10. I ordered the Tri Tip which tasted like it had been baked in an oven and maybe smoked afterwards to add a little of the smoke flavor but definitely to cooked on a real BBQ grill. The mac and cheese tasted like garden variety boxed mac and cheese and kinda hard to mess up the mashed potatoes. Think every fast food BBQ place you have ever visited. They are ok if you are not a foodie and your thoughts of food are "fills a hole" but if you are a real food and looking for authentic BBQ then this is not for you. However, what wasnt a miss was the nice free bite sized doughnuts they served at the end of the meal for free. They were great and it was a nice touch. Ambiance: Nice ambiance. Beautifully decorated. The place had the familiar pleasant smell of smoked meats but unfortunately, I smelled more than I tasted. Service: The service was excellent. My server was very helpful, professional and pleasant. We were seated quickly and the food was served pretty quickly as well. Parking: Great parking options Overall: Loved the service, the ambiance was nice and the food was ok.

Craig S.

This place delivers what it advertises!! BBQ, done in many ways and all done well. This is not a 5 star fine dining place, but a down home BBQ and bar with lots of atmosphere and flavor. The servers are all quick and serve with happy smiles. I wouldn't drive far to go here, but it is definitely worth a side trip if you are in the area.

Shut the front door, and sit down for the best baby back ribs you've ever sunk your teeth into. If you are in or from Phoenix, you are in BBQ luck. Take yourself to "Whole Hog Heaven." It says you could enjoy this meal on your own; unless you plan to fast for two to three days share with a friend. Double down on some baby back ribs, enjoy some mac n'cheese, and save room for some complimentary fresh fried doughnuts for dessert (Or like me force them down with a BBQ covered grin.) Lot's of people rave about the Q-Rolls, however that was probably the only moot point for me. I'd recommend you save room for the meats. By no means is a five star review for this place original, but I can only confirm that this place is still doing what everyone is talking about. Smoking some of the most delicious meats I've ever tasted. read more

This is our favorite BBQ place! The food is really good, a little pricey, but for special times we will splurge. Such a disappointment tonight on New Years Eve. Typically I would give it 5 stars as service is spot-on and the food comes hot, BUT tonight our food took almost an hour and it came luke-warm. The server was not real attentive until the end. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, there were empty tables, so not sure what the issue was tonight. read more

You guys... if you're in the area... stop what you're doing and run (don't walk) RUN to this place. It is a little hidden gem but obviously not a best kept secret as this is one of a gazillion reviews. It is exactly what you'd expect in awesome bbq. The place is bigger that what I'd imagined. Fantastic service all around. Uber impressed with all of the staff, including other servers and bartender willing to help their coworkers. We had the wedge which was a basic wedge with all the fixin's and the three meat bbq plate. The brisket, sausage and chicken was fabulous. You even get a wee pitcher of spicy bbq sauce upon request. Nothing negative to report. Highly recommend. These folks got this dialed in. read more

I had pretty low expectations based on the outside, but the food was delicious. I guess that's why it has such a high rating! The cornbread was moist, sweet, and salty. I had the catfish poboy, which was great. The roasted corn was smoky and sweet. But, maybe the best part was the cinnamon sugar donuts after our meal. They were like a soft churro. read more

Waiter was attentive, friendly, and told us a quick summary of the restaurant. Spinach Artichoke Dip was great- the real deal not the pre-made stuff some chain restaurants serve. The complimentary corn cakes were very good. We had the Pork BBQ Sandwich with pecan slaw and Brisket Tacos. The sandwich had good flavor and extra sauce was provided. We expected more from the pecan slaw, it was basic. The brisket tacos were good and then we added the BBQ sauce and that was a game-changer. Excellent! read more

What a joke, took 25 minutes for the waitress to come to the table, food is very comparable to outback steakhouse but for twice the price. I ordered the ribeye ($36 for a 14 ounce nothing special steak) and my girlfriend had some pulled pork. We also had 2 drinks each, the total came out to $125 before a tip. The waitress was just ok but I tipped decent because I used to be a waiter and it's a shitty job. Will never be back again, food quality should be much better for the prices. read more

I was really surprised to see how busy the restaurant was on a Monday evening but it was in the middle of Spring Training. The restaurant is much more franchise-y than I expected but it still has homey roots. We ordered the three meat plate of St. Louis ribs, baby back ribs, and beef brisket with pecan coleslaw and baked potato. The meat is incredibly, incredibly tender. It ended being too soft for my preference but if you enjoy fall off the bone BBQ this is the place for you. The sides are delicious and go well with the food. We found the BBQ sauce way too sweet for our tastes. Service is fast and everyone working is very friendly. The little touch that was lovely are the cinnamon sugar donuts you get at the end of your meal. A nice treat to top off a pretty decadent meal. I enjoyed the restaurant overall although it didn't fit my personal preferences. It's a fun place to check out when you're in Phoenix! read more

A group of us visited Arizona over the weekend and this was the only spot in my bookmarks we got to try :( we made reservations for a Sunday at 7pm and when we all sat down the football game was just near ending. The energy was fun and loud- everything you expect from a bbq spot. My bf and I shared the whole hog deal ($56) based on reviews .. since I was the one who recommended this place, I recommended this deal for everyone (in pairs) and boy, we had full plates by the time we were all stuffed. In my opinion, this is a 3-4 people to share deal for the average person. Reviews said 2-3 but I would disagree. Nonetheless, we took home a bunch of leftovers and then forgot all of it in the fridge when we drove back to Cali. So those few ribs, brisket, and sides were all that I would get to experience and I can truthfully say, I am devastated. It was so yummy and the sides all made me happy. The price would have been great if we could have shared so that was our fault for over ordering and then forgetting it all. Our waiter Johan was great. We have no complaints and he was really friendly and gave us the best tiny cinnamon donuts I've ever tasted and a few extra to go.. still dreaming about these :( would recommend to all my friends visiting Arizona! read more

Always a treat to go here. My wife and I went on Tue night and the place was busy! High energy and a friendly staff. Sarah served us at a booth in the bar area and provided excellent service. I saw she had several tables including a large party and still made time to make my wife and I feel special. It was our anniversary dinner (she didn't know) and she made it perfect. We started off with calamari that was juicy with delicious breading. Then I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection and my wife's bbq brisket and pork was amazing. Of course I can't leave out the cornbread which I wish I knew how to make it like that! We'll be back again! read more

Came here with my mom while we were in town for work and wanted to try something locally owned. First of all, the staff are the nicest people! My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday (also our first time) and all I can say is- WOW! We got there pretty much when they opened and were seated right away. Our waitress came and told us the history of the place since it was our first time. Our waitress was quick, attentive, and very kind. If only more places had waitresses like her. We started off with an appetizer of the Q-Rolls (suggested by our waitress). They were so tender and the dipping sauces were so good. Best BBQ sauce I ever had. We ordered our lunch. My boyfriend had their smokehouse burger with shoestring fries and I had the slices BBQ prime beef brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese. The brisket was so tender and the Mac and cheese was really good. I had a bite of my boyfriend's burger and that was the best burger I've ever had- and I'm not a big burger person. Before we left, our waitress gave us their homemade sugar donuts which are soooo delicious. The atmosphere inside and out is great and the staff are really friendly. Still the best. I can't find any BBQ this good west of the Rockies. Good food, good service, local favorite you can go wrong. Bryce Evans Was an excellent waiter and knowledgeable about the food and the franchise. We tried the chicken this time. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh and paired well with everything on the table. I think I'm to the point where I only feel it's worth coming when you can sit outside - I prefer tables along the entry walkway which are picnic tables, and that level of casual really doesn't match up with the price dinner menu, so by that logic, it's boils down to worth it for happy hour. My main issue with the dining room, ever since my first time there, is the acoustics. There's always one loud table (if not more) and something about the building just amplifies it. I feel exhausted after eating there from having to shout to converse, and thereby also needing to keep topics of conversation pretty shallow. Also, a more recent phenomena is the portion sizes have become enormous. We most recently did the Arizona Restaurant Week menu, I tried to come with a big appetite for multiple courses. I opted for the ahi tuna small plate for the first course (for something more interesting than a salad but less substantial than the very large chicken wings that come with potatoes), the shrimp pesto tagliatelle for the second, and the chocolate cake dessert. The tuna would have been a suitable dinner; knowing there were still 2 courses to come, I had to call it quits before finishing. I managed a few bites of pasta and took the rest home, along with half the cake dessert. It made for a nice dinner the following night, although still went not entirely finished! Secondary to being mind blown by the portion size, yes everything was delicious. The happy hour dishes I've most enjoyed (these rotate a few times a year) include the various flautas, the eggplant meatballs, sun-dried strawberry and ricotta spread on grilled bread (bring this back!). The charred sweet potato, grilled chicken wings (with potatoes), and smoked beets are pretty good as well. I look forward to focusing my return visits on this menu!

Went this afternoon, and have to say that I was very underwhelmed! We were in time for lunch, and I ordered the Craft Pineapple Passion. What a disappointment! The presentation is really cute, it comes in a frozen hollowed out pineapple. There was hardly any drink to it. It was all ice. After scooping out my ice with my fork, I finally asked an older gentleman for a spoon, so I could at least attempt to scoop out what was supposed to be my drink. For $15.00, don't waste your money! I enjoyed my brisket sandwich and the shoe string fries (which are truly shoe string). They are really skinny, and a bit salty for my taste! My daughter did not enjoy her chicken sandwich. The BBQ sauce was to sweet for her. She did enjoy the mac & cheese side dish. Interesting with a BBQ place like this, that they don't offer different BBQ sauces. When you go to Buffalo Wild Wings, you get a choice of a dozen different wing sauces. One would expect the same out of BBQ place! Offer a variety of sauces to the different taste buds! My grandson did enjoy his smoked chicken wings, and the portion was large. Service was pretty bad. Being a restaurant manager, I tend to have pretty high expectations for servers and service. Daniel only got a 5 out of 10. Daniel never checked back to see how I liked my drink. Our app plates sat way past the time of us being done, and Daniel walked past our table numerous times. When our lunch entree's came out, there was no room to set the plates down. There is nothing worse then having to rearrange the table, because there is no room! Daniel didn't follow the service standard of two bite, two minute check back rule. At that time, my daughter may have been able to ask for another BBQ sauce option. We had to ask another server to track him down, so that we could place an order to go. We were never offered dessert, although Daniel brought us a small bag of mini donuts with the check. The idea is sweet, but the donuts were cold. There is a machine you see as you first walk in that makes fresh mini donuts. Note to management, make donuts to order. Nothing better then nice warm mini donuts to round out a meal. So, bill was 88.00, plus tip was over $100.00! So not worth it! I'm sure there are better BBQ restaurants out there, and I will continue looking..won't be back to this one. read more

I recently dined at Bobby Q's, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived with high hopes, only to be met with a series of missteps that soured the evening. First, we were told there would be a 10-minute wait, but we ended up waiting 25 minutes. The hostess seemed overwhelmed and struggled to take our name and phone number without getting distracted. This lack of organization set a frustrating tone for the rest of our visit. Once seated, it took another 10 minutes for our waiter to greet us. We placed our drink orders, but water never arrived at our table. To our surprise, our food came out before our bar drinks, which is not what one would expect in a well-run establishment. I ordered the brisket platter with mac and cheese and ranch-style beans. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese tasted like overcooked noodles slathered in Velveeta sauce--definitely not the creamy comfort I was hoping for. The ranch-style beans were served cold and had a sour taste that was off-putting. The brisket was particularly disappointing; it lacked the smoky flavor and texture one would expect. Instead, it tasted like it had been boiled in a crock pot without any seasoning, and there was no smoke ring to be found. To add insult to injury, the food was sloppily plated. My husband opted for the pulled chicken sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad never arrived, and the chicken itself was bland and dry. Our son ordered the French Dip sandwich, which he found unsatisfactory and resulted in severe nausea later that night. He's currently experiencing the aftermath of what we can only assume was a food-related issue. While the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, it was overshadowed by the poor quality of the food and service. I usually believe in giving restaurants time to address their shortcomings, but our entire family left feeling sorely disappointed. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the staff at Bobby Q's and as a cautionary tale for future patrons. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, and it's clear that improvements are needed to ensure that happens here. read more

So I have been here twice now and had two VERY different experiences. The first being on a Saturday night. Service was excellent and the food I thought was delicious. My husband had the steak and he was it was just okay, but he is a food weirdo, so I would take his opinion like a grain of salt. I had the brisket, baby backs, and pulled pork. All were delish. I had the mashed potatoes and corn on the side and thy were really good too. The second time we were there was last night, Monday. It was my birthday so I wanted someplace yummy so I chose Bobby Q's. Let me start by saying the waiter was young and had serious time management issues. He took our drink order, dropped the drinks and ran. Didn't ask if we wanted a appetizer, which we did, so strike one. I get my meal and its missing the brisket and the waiter was no where to be found. Finally he comes out and I ask for the brisket and he brings it and its cold. Again we have to wait for the waiter and in the meantime our drinks were empty and we needed refills, strike 2. Then I get to the beef ribs on my plate and they taste like soap, no joke. By the way, I am still waiting for the waiter. At this point I am livid. Waiter shows up, I ask for manager. Manager comes I explain my brisket being cold, ribs taste like soap, waiter sucks....He offers me something else, I said no thanks, I lost my appetite. He offers dessert, of course my 7 year old, begs for me to say okay, so I said okay we will try the peach cobbler. We get the cobbler and it was nasty!!!! Tasted like onions...Way nasty....Strike 11000000.... Never coming back , EVER....Sad because I liked this place the first time...This being said, our bill was still over 30 bucks even with mine taken off the bill. One adult and one child and an appetizer and no alcohol???? Still a little steep for a customer who is pissed.... read more

Bobby Q Restaurant I recently stopped by Bobby Q for a late lunch since we were near the airport, and I'm so glad we did! This was my third time visiting, and it definitely lived up to my previous experiences. I had the brisket sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious! The brisket was so flavorful and moist, with a perfect balance of seasoning. It was everything you want in a BBQ sandwich--tender, juicy, and packed with great flavor. As a side, I opted for the crispy treat spring French fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside--basically perfect. I also tried the cornbread, which was freshly baked and warm--super tasty and moist, definitely a highlight of the meal. My coworkers got the pulled pork sandwiches and couldn't stop raving about them, especially the mac & cheese. They said it was rich, creamy, and had the right amount of cheese--definitely worth ordering. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning--super cool and authentic. We sat near the cooking area, and you could really get a sense that this place is the real deal. You could smell the delicious BBQ and see the care they put into everything they make. It felt like a true BBQ joint, not just a restaurant. As a nice touch, the waiter gave us some fried donuts coated in sugar to go, and they were the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Overall, I highly recommend Bobby Q. It's definitely one of my go-to spots whenever I'm near this location, and I'll be back next time my travels bring me to the area. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere! read more

Wow!! I'm so impressed with absolutely everything about this place! The ambiance was great and very classy! Granted we walked in wearing practically sweatpants and hats, no one made us feel uncomfortable for our attire! It is more on the fine dining side of BBQ, which I think is awesome! :) They sat us right away with big smiles and asked us how our day was going! Very polite and sweet hostess! Our server was also wonderful! Brought us refills before we needed to even ask. Made great suggestions for the menu, and explained the restaurant to us since it was our first time in We decided to split the baby back ribs which came with two sides and cornbread! Omg amazing and SO much food! I ate the leftover ribs for breakfast! Lol I was so impressed at how wonderful everything tasted and how great the service was. Manager even came over to each of the tables and interacted with us, offering us refills and confirming the food was to our standards! I noticed the table next to us, had an uneven table which wobbled a little, and the staff switched it our immediately and made sure they were comfortable. I was totally impressed with every part of our meal, to the interactions with staff, to the wonderful delicious food! Menu has so many choices! We can't wait to go back for some more fabulous BBQ! Yum! Oh and the donuts are heaven! And being 34 weeks pregnant and constantly craving BBQ, we will probably be coming back very soon! read more

My husband and I found Bobby Q via an internet search, since we have never been to the Phoenix area before. We love BBQ, so this seemed like a perfect fit. We were seated quickly, near the kitchen and chicken rotisserie, which was neat to watch. Our server was Renee. He is in training, so had Stacy working with him. They were fantastic!!! I have a severe food allergy, which happens to be one of the ingredients in their BBQ sauce. Renee and Stacy made sure to thoroughly check with the kitchen to ensure what I ordered would be safe for me to eat As someone with a severe food allergy, I never expect a restaurant to be able to accommodate me, but it is always a nice gesture when they go to the trouble of letting me know what is safe and what is not. We shared the Whole Hog dinner. They served delicious corn bread to start, and the food arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, I was unable to have any of the ribs (due to allergy) but my husband found them to be juicy and delicious! The rest of the meal included pulled pork, brisket, mac and cheese, potato salad, and corn. They were all AMAZING! I find brisket hit and miss, but i would've gladly eaten a whole meal of just brisket! Renee kept us topped on drinks and checked in to make sure we were doing ok. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience and we would highly recommend Bobby Q to anyone in the Phoenix area! read more

Sure, the food is good. But, the Manager and his staff is RACIST. I have given my Birthday Parties at this venue for 7 years. Last year in Dec.I experienced their wrath of racism first hand. After years of visiting this venue, since it was Bobby McGhees, until Dec 2014. I was informed that my son was allowed into my party because he was supposedly, in a vehicle, with other black guys, which someone pulled a gun on one of the staff member. When I questioned the Manager, all he could tell me is that it happened on a Saturday night, and a black guy that looked like my son, was in the vehicle, not the one that pulled the gun on his staff. I informed him that it wasn't my son, because I know the hours my son worked, ad he doesn't go to night clubs, and he is at work on Saturday night. But, the manager insisted that it was my son. So, I decided that night, that I would not be coming back to this place, and that they were full of crap. So, my friends and I now visit Michael's Cafe, and Macayos on Fridays. They have excellent food also. I think the manager at Bobby Q's owe my son and I an apology. ALL BLACKS DO NOT LOOK ALIKE. I am totally disappointed with the Manager, and his staff. Yes, the food is good, but my friends and I would like to visit a venue without being accused of a crime. read more

The restaurant and service made up for the mediocre food. That is the only reason I gave it 3 stars, otherwise I would have given it 2 stars. First let me start off by saying the server and the restaurant in general was fantastic. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the View it offers, and the all around good feeling you get at a country style restaurant. But let me tell you I have never had any food with as much seasoning as their all you can eat beef ribs. Im usually the type who likes to sometimes over season things when cooking, because I loooove flavor, but those ribs were horrible. They had a ton of seasoning. I bit into them and got a mouth full of burnt seasoning. I got a second round as they are "all you can eat", and the 2nd round had just as much seasoning as the 1st but they were half the thickness so it was like eating double the amount of seasoning lol. I declined the 2nd round, and got a 3rd round....had to refuse that too, as it was the same issue. The nachos off the appetizers list was pathetic, very much "Chillies" style. The Mac and cheese was a very large portion but was not that great but not horrible. It was a little under seasoned lol. All in all I would not go back to this place , it was a good one time visit. read more

I don't give five star reviews for barbeque restaurants lightly. I'm from Kansas. And Kansas City BBQ is in my blood. That being said... This place has some amazing food. I had the St Louis Style ribs and the sliced brisket and it was amazing. Smoked and grilled to perfection. Just the right amount of bark on the brisket. Delicious ribs that almost fall off the bone. So good that I'm salivating thinking about it a day later. We also got the Barbeque Egg roll appetizer and it was delicious. The wrap for these rolls is a puff pastry that is fried around their delicious brisket. Dipping sauces are both wonderful. I really enjoyed the nice sweet smokiness of their regular BBQ sauce. The chipotle ranch is also quite good. No complaints from anyone at our table. Southern Fried Chicken looked amazing. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and let me taste... It was really good. I just don't think you can go wrong here. The only downside is the price. You can easily drop $25 per person here, but it's money well spent on a damn fine meal. Possibly the best BBQ in Phoenix. Easily the best I've had since living here and I've been trying them all. You should go here... Your wallet might regret it but YOU won't. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bobby-Q, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and charming, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the staff. Our bartender was not only fun and entertaining but also added a lively vibe to the bar area. Harrison, was a standout with his witty and playful demeanor, ensuring that we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal. As for the food, it was phenomenal. I had the best burger I've ever tasted - it quite literally melted in my mouth, boasting a perfect blend of flavors that left me craving more. The culinary delights didn't stop there; the cornbread was moist and flavorful, the mini donuts were a sweet treat, the macaroni and cheese was creamy and rich, and the crispy rolled BBQ bites with dipping sauce were simply irresistible. Every aspect of the dining experience at Bobby-Q was top-notch. The friendly and charming environment, combined with exceptional service from Jadin and outstanding food, made for an unforgettable night. I highly recommend Bobby-Q to anyone looking for a great meal and a good time. read more

Of all the BBQ Chicken I have tried.. Bobby Q Famous Sams The BBQ Co. HAPS Honey Bears Bill Johnson's Big Apple Bobby Q is by far the best. They slow roast the chicken and it comes out super moist, and the BBQ sauce they use is superb. Comes with corn bread that is incredible. Their Mac & Cheese is like no other. No complaints on the baked potato, either. All around fantastic food run by people who appear to care about what they serve. The list I have above is what I prefer. FS is also pretty good. TheBBQco. turned me off with their small portions and deceptive pricing, but not bad bbq chicken. I did not care for their pulled pork that seemed to have a pool of grease. I actually don't remember HAPS since it was over 5 years since I have been there, but it must have not been overly impressive or I would have been back. The 2 on the bottom are not so hot. HB's leaves their chicken in a tub sitting (for god knows how long) then tops it with BBQ sauce and serve it up. BJBA was the worst, that served me chicken that tasted days old. I'm not surprised the Indian School location closed down. read more

Bobby-Q's On behalf of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, Inc. (IEEE "Traction Power Standards Group") We would like to thank you for the excellent catering service and dinner you provided February 11 & 13, 2008. An enjoyable, memorable experience and evening was had by all. We were very pleased with the high standard of food, infusion of beverages served during Happy Hour, and the excellent service you and your staff provided. We have used other caterers and dine in the past at 5 Star locations with no comparison to such excellent service, but you surpassed all by far. What a great BBQ restaurant to have dinner. Awesome location right off the I-17 just south of Dunlap. The cornbread and appetizers set the mood for all the wonderful food that followed. I had the Prime rib which was out of this world along with the creamy style horseradish that had exactly the right flavor- not too hot and not too sweet. My companion had the Yard Bird chicken that I was able to get a taste of and I'm glad I did, it will be on the top of my list when we return. The service was fast and the wait staff was friendly. Its refreshing to see people who are happy at what they are doing and it shows as everyone had a smile and was quick to serve and even give information about the "Q-lounge" and dance floor. I'm excited about getting back over there the very first chance I get to try some of that BBQ chicken and perhaps some ribs to go with it. The home style baked beans were a real treat and the thank "Q" sugary sweet donuts were a sweet and happy ending. Thank you Bobby Q, I will be back real soon. read more

From the moment I stepped out of my car, I knew I was going to get some authentic (smoked not oven cooked) BBQ. The rich, smoky aroma of mesquite wood filled the air, that instantly set the stage for an amazing experience. The scent alone could make anyone's mouth water. Inside, the service was nothing short of exceptional from being quick, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even during a busy rush, the staff moved with warmth and made us feel taken care of. The portion sizes were generous, perfect for anyone with a hearty appetite or looking to take some leftovers home. Every bite was packed with flavor, proving that this place doesn't just rely on its social media presence. And just when I thought the experience couldn't get any better, out came the complimentary donuts. Warm, soft, and lightly dusted with sugar, they were the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. If you're looking for top-notch BBQ with unbeatable service, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back! read more

I took my 16 year old son last Friday... The service and the food was as outstanding as some 5 star restaurants we have eaten at across the country... Our server was Alonzo he is amazing... The best part was you can enjoy your dinner without being rushed...No waiter's constantly hovering... You get the check when you are ready... You are treated to amazing food and excellent service.. To us this matters... The ambiance is like sitting at home with family and friends, enjoying great food, conversation... The service & quality of the food had us coming back for their steak and crab special that is only on Saturday!! If you have passed by like we have so many times yet not stopped...Wow you are missing some of the best BBQ in the country. The cornbread is to die for..The side dishes are out of this world..This is BBQ done right and it shows in the first bite... We will be customers for life. Thank you to the manager Laura and our server Alonzo.... read more

Just landed after a 5 hour flight from Cleveland. The troops were hungry considering we left our house at 5 am this morning. Looked for a place that was an easy stop on our route to Sedona. Are we glad we picked this place. Every bite was delicious. From the Q rolls...brisket wrapped in flour tortillas and deep fried which came with two sauces, a BBQ and chipotle ranch. Both were a great enhancement. We sampled all the BBQ meats: pulled chicken, pulled pork, St Louis-style ribs and brisket. Everyone raves. Mac and cheese was super cheesy and shoestring fries were thin and plentiful! One of us didn't care for the ranch beans however, another loved them! One highlight was the moist cornbread. Our server Derrick was attentive and polite. Even asking if we wanted lemon with our water. And at the end of our meal he brought us a bag full of scrumptious donuts! Our Arizona vacation is off to great start thanks to BobbyQ's!!! read more

My family & friends were visiting from out of town and randomly stopped by to have dinner at Bobby Q's in Phoenix Az. Not sure what to expect, we were blown away by the best service we have ever experienced, anywhere! Not only was the service exceptional, the food was absolutely delicious! I'm a pretty picky eater and the food was beyond what I expected. We all shared. We ordered ribs, prime rib, pulled pork, and the amazing Q's for an appetizer. We finished with a mud pie and banana freeze dessert. While waiting to be sat all the way to finishing our meal, we were educated about the extensive preparation that goes into their food, Bobby Q's brewed beer (which was very good!), and all of the ways they prepare all of the food on the menu. A HUGE thank you to manager Jack Lineberger!! He was awesome and made our experience awesome enough to post on Yelp. Thank you Jack! We will stop by the next time we are in town! read more

Great service, amazing BBQ! I was blown away by everything that I had there, from the first bite to the last. They start you off with cornbread at the beginning, and this is as good if not better than any cornbread I've ever had in the south! I had to go for the baby back ribs as my main course, and WOW! Extremely tender and juicy, it just falls right off the bone. There's a lot of meat, and they don't overdo the bbq sauce, although they do have extra sauce on the side, which was also delicious! And to top it off, at then end after the waiter gave us the check, he brought out a bag of mini donuts. Nice and warm, just out of the fryer. The perfect way to end the perfect meal! The only negative critique is that the inside seating was a little loud, although it was a Friday night and there was a line out the door. That's what you get with such a popular place! Well worth it, I highly recommend Bobby Q! read more

I found Bobby Q on Yelp and decided to try it because of the good reviews. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the amazing smell of smoked bbq. The atmosphere was bright, roomy and very clean. Our waitress was so attentive and extremely polite. We ordered wings, prime rib and ribs. All of our meals were very good. I prefer my wings to be a little more crispy than they came out, however, I forgot to order them extra crispy so that was my fault. The wings still had a nice smoked flavor throughout. All the sides were outstanding. We had the Mac and cheese, potato salad, mashed potato's and fries. I was very impressed that all the sides were homemade. To top off the wonderful meal and service, they give complimentary mini homemade donuts in your way out. I would highly recommended Bobby Q! Next time we are in town, we will definitely be returning. I can't wait to try more things in their menu. read more

THESE GUYS make STEAKs to perfection and I've been to all the so called OVER RATED / OVER PRICED 5 STAR STEAK HOUSES in AZ... I would give them 5 stars but recently their price$ have gotten out of hand and not catering to family setting anymore. This disappointing there are only 2 others that compare Lone Star and Out Back Metro Center only (affordable and family orientated). Oh 1 MORE THING ITS VERY LOUD IN THERE. They need sound absorbing acoustical tiles or foam to bring the echo to and acceptable level. makes you feel like your in a HS cafeteria people eating and talking with their mouth full of food annoying.. Ghetto or eating at a sizzler. I love to eat in a quiet not so loud environment helps with digestion and not annoying. Bob Q work on keeping the bd levels down. 1. Prices to high 2. Not another table was occupied for our entire meal, locals please show this place some love!!! We came in for happy hour with our college son, and had a lovely time. The music was a bit loud for it being so empty, and an odd irritating beeping was audible throughout the evening. Otherwise, we sat in a comfy booth and enjoyed the air conditioning, yes its still 100 in Phoenix. From the happy hour menu, we ordered a house margarita and a red sangria to start ($6 each on HH). The margarita was standard, but solid. The sangria was fruity and boozy with a good portion of icy blackberries to keep it cold. I like that there wasn't a glass full of ice left after finishing this drink. James brought some extra ice for the margarita, saying the crushed ice melts quickly. I used it to ice down the water, much appreciated. When son arrived, he was undecided about the beers, so James brought him three tasters. After choosing the one (Dragoon Pilsner $7 HH) that made his face happy, we also ordered the polenta fries as a starter. The polenta fries ($10 HH) here are SUPERB! What a fantastic combination of flavors! I loved the hard crunch on the outside but the soft polenta inside. Topped with some spicy chipotle aoli, this dish features a little cor, cotija cheese and house pickled red onion and jalapeno slices. The brine on the pickles was perfect!! Tart, sweet, spicy all represented well. Even son who is a french fry traditionalist helped devour this dish. Even though our meal was also good, I will absolutely come back JUST FOR THE POLENTA FRIES and the drinks! On to entrees, son ordered the Mac Daddy appetizer as an additional side dish to go with his Bees Knees Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries. This craggy chicken breast is MASSIVE, hanging out of the bun on all sides. Very tender and juicy, he consumed the whole thing while the liberally applied honey sauce dripped down his arms. He also consumed all the Mac Daddy, pronouncing it creamy and cheesy. I think it was a little small for $13 but it was delicious. I ordered the American Burger, no bun, also with sweet potato fries. The meat was excellent, a nice sear and crunch edges with good quality beef. I asked for a side of ranch dressing to dip my fries into, and it was an excellent homemade version. Chef James told me he works to get the perfect viscosity for coating the fries, and he was successful! Husband had the Hot AF Chicken Sandwich, another huge craggy breaded fried chicken breast, with regular french fries. He got the pickles on the side, and cut the gigantic sandwich in half for leftovers. The habanero sauce on this burger is very spicy, but not deadly. It had a lot of raw onion under the bun. The buns are branded or dark toasted on top. No one complained. The size of the gigantic chicken breast in these sandwiches is truly comical. No one laughed. Too busy stuffing our faces! Although he did mix up our sides, Chef James ran a remarkable meal for us solo. We didn't have room for dessert, but they do have a couple on the menu. Check was handled efficiently, and we left James to his devices. I hope the restaurant saw other guests that night, and our dedicated host found it worthwhile to open the doors Thursday. I think he is really invested in the success of this place, and would love to send everyone I know to try it!
