Locally owned and operated. First, I will say this is no McDonalds. I ordered the Spicy Gangster Burger and the patty itself was a meal, but I got a side of fries to go with. The burger was fantastic, nice heat from the jalapeño, so if you're into spicy, try it out. The fries were crinkle cut, I know that matters to some, and were crispy. First, the young man at the counter of this Roosevelt Row place is a joy! So helpful and friendly. It seems like he really likes where he works and the food that serve. When you walk in there is a large photo of a Mafia guy--definitely sticks with the theme of this place. There is a small dining room with a huge photo of their food truck, where it all started in Chicago. There is also a cute neon "gangster." We ordered an American Burger, a Shroom Burger, and a Big Mack salad (chopped lettuce dressed with thousand Island, topped with two hamburger patties, cheese, pickle, and sesame seeds). We really liked the burgers and salad a lot. The buns are so good. We got fries, and they were nothing to write home about. Drinks are sold in the can, and there is a big variety to choose from. I could honestly see that it could be difficult to find a parking on weekdays at lunch time! Honestly I felt out of place after we ordered and turned he corner, there were hardly no tables to open and the people sitting in the tables with the pull out chairs were blocking the booths to sit in, they were watching a basketball game that was literally from 2017!! Came here for lunch and it smelled delicious so many options everything sounded so yummy. My friend and I got the jalapeño popper burger, which was so delicious. We also got some. I think they're a jalapeño fries or gangster fries. Those were probably one of my favorite side items. We also got their appetizer, which was some type of cauliflower. I ordered catering from this restaurant after hearing great things, but the experience was the worst catering service I've dealt with. The delivery arrived almost 30 minutes early for a meeting with a strict schedule, the communication was poor from start to finish, and getting an itemized receipt was unnecessarily difficult. When the receipt finally arrived, it was incorrect. To make matters worse, no plates were offered or included with the order, leaving us scrambling to accommodate our attendees. When I requested a correction and refund, the process dragged on for two weeks. Good food alone isn't enough to make up for poor customer service and disorganized catering operations.
