Bobby Q - Barbeque Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Dissatisfied really bummed out not impressed at all. For us we will never be back..what a waiste in time and money coming here. Thought this was a BBQ place. The meat was bot tender on the brisket at all. They drenched the meat un this AWFUL sauce. Fried catfish tasted frozen as heck. Chicken fried chicken was 100 a frozen not homemade chicken, drenched in awful gravy. I guess they tried covering up the horrid overcooked frozen chicken patty. Place was packed in a rainy day. Service was sooooooo freakin slow. Waited 15 minutes for refills... cone on!! read more

The service was great. And the food was delicious. Everything was delicious. The meat on the baby back ribs were so tender the bone fell off. It was great. read more

I waivered between 4 and 5 stars, and decided to go with 5, based off of first impressions. Full disclosure....I've been here twice (so far). First impression: The food was spot on. Delicious and filling, well cooked and enough options. I always go for the chicken, and it was moist and tender. The amount of sauce was perfect. The sides were great, and I had to watch myself, so that I didn't fill up on them. The cocktails are huge, and service is efficient and super friendly. If they are having a bad day at work, they aren't letting it show. Second impression: For the cost of a meal, this is all I got? Underwhelming, to say the least. I am going to say that my second impression was a one-off, and something was out of place that night. Now, I couldn't tell you if this BBQ is the way BBQ is supposed to be, or if they are faking it 'til they make it, but I can tell you that I know what I like, and I found the food to be delicious both times. Because of the price, I won't be coming here too often, but I won't be avoiding it either. From drinks to dessert, everything here is very yummy, including the warm mini donuts they send you home with. The access to the restaurant is a little wonky, but it is definitely worth a trip to check this place out! 9/2023 read more

I have to admit.... Best BBQ that I have had in Phoenix and I haven't found another yet until than, enjoy

One of my favorite restaurants in the Phoenix area. Gotta check it out if you like barbeque. Favorite things to get are the ribs and pork. Mac and cheese and slaw are solid sides, but honestly their free corn bread is the best. The free donuts at the end are also delicious. Service is always friendly and while the food doesn't come out super quick like it does at some barbeque places, it doesn't take too long. The outside seating area is peaceful, and inside is pretty lively, so depends on what kinda mood you're in which would be better. Definitely stop by here. read more

Not a good experience at all. Bobby Qs in Mesa is great, this was awful. . We sat in the outdoor patio area and we're fighting flies the entire time. My wife and I split the two meat plate with brisket and two beef ribs.we paid extra for the second rib. The ribs were tough, very little meat on them. I asked the waiter if the brisket was the lean sliced section( the flat), he said it was. It wasn't, it was the chopped fatty portion. No smoke flavor, it was just bad all the way around. if you like flies landin on your below average food, this is your place. One meal with an extra rin and twodraft beers..$70. Never again. read more

We love BobbyQ's! Consistent quality and extremely tasty food. Always a positive experience, friendly hosts and servers on top of their game. A regular place we frequent. Try the Q-Rolls, very tasty appetizer. Brisket, amazing. Steaks, great. Corn bread and freshly made donuts gratis! read more

The atmosphere was so good. The waiter as entertaining and efficient. He said it was only his 3rd week there but really managed up his whole recent hire experience. Our food was outstanding. We had the apps with the largest chicken wings. So filling. I had a chicken sandwich. Delicious and loved the whole experience. read more

3-1/2 star. Not bad. We have been there twice. I feel like the first time was better. Good food. The meat wasn't the best BBQ BUT not the worse. The sides are great though. I got the ribs this time. He got the 3 meats combo.Alittle on the dry side. If I go back I would differently try something different. The cornbread is delicious. The Mac cheese is a little too cheesy and creamy for me , but not bad. The potato salad is bomb. The service was good. The only issue is it's so loud in there, you can hardly have a conversation with the person at your table. At least it was that way in the room we sat in. But I think of you have not eaten here you should at least try it. It's a cool little place. read more

Maybe it's because I lived in St. Louis for 4-ish years but I was pretty unimpressed with the meats here, especially the ribs. I came on a weekend lunch and was happy there weren't many people in the giant restaurant yet. - Cornbread - I really appreciate that this was complimentary and it was delicious! The outside was a bit too grainy of a texture but I appreciated the soft insides which paired very well with butter. - Three Meat Combo - I appreciate this plate was huge and comfortably fed two people, we even brought back a lot of leftovers. Side note but I am always confused about how anyone can finish large BBQ portion sizes. Anyways, make sure to ask BBQ sauce because the meats in general are quite dry. I was not a big fan of the Smoke Baby Back Ribs which were incredibly dry and flavorless in the inside. The Yardbird Rotisserie Chicken was the same, dry and flavorless. The Smoke Sliced Beef Brisket however was delicious as the smoky flavors permeated the entire very tender and flavorful brisket. Definitely my favorite meat item out of the three. For the sides, we ordered the Shoestring Fries which I was a bit skeptical about at first because there were so many more interesting sides to order rather than just fries. However, the fries here were actually pretty good as the smoky flavors were incredibly evident. I thought the other side dish that I ordered, Roasted Corn, didn't have enough flavor. - Donuts - Before we left, they gave us 4 complimentary small donuts which was so incredibly kind of them. Honestly, if the BBQ business doesn't work out for them, I would recommend they get into the donut business because their donuts were really good - crispy and soft full of sugary flavor. Honestly it's not a bad restaurant as you get a lot of complimentary foods that taste great. My gripe with the restaurant is more about the fact that their meats were not tender and pretty flavorless which is ultimately what BBQ is about. read more

Whenever I'm in this town and want good bbq, this is the place I make a point to stop at. While not new, Bobby Q continues to serve some great bbq. Their corn bread is so delicious and one of the only places that has beef bbq ribs that are filling! You can order those "a la cart." Their menu is pretty large so you're sure to find something you're gonna like. The appetizers are also delicious and can be used for your main meal because there is so much. Servers have always been friendly and attentive to the needs of the table! If you find yourself in the valley, be sure to give this place a try! Cheers! read more

I visited Phoenix for my brother's wedding and was recommended this barbecue place. Honestly, it's overhyped--Texas Roadhouse is way better. My food was cold, and my son's cheeseburger was burnt. My first bite of my appetizer (brisket rolls) had plastic wrapping mixed with the brisket. For my entree, I ordered a variety plate so I could try a few options having never visited. The roasted corn was sweetened, not my preference, unless creamed, sadly this wasn't that. The bbq sauce was also very sweet, also not my preference. Unfortunately my ribs were coated in this sauce. I did enjoy the spicy sausage, though I wish it weren't pre-sliced. The mac and cheese was very tasty, 2/4 on my plate is a disappointment though. My husband ordered chopped ends (iirc), he was not prepared for the amount of bone and tendon, and didn't enjoy the experience. If you like overly sweet food, with a risk of hidden plastic, come here! On a positive note, you do get free mini donut ball's as you check out. The manager did comp that appetizer, but big yikes on the hidden hazard I don't think I'll find a reason to return. read more

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!! STAY AWAY!!! I placed an order online for pick up through Uber Eats. They never made the order and told the 4 drivers from Uber that the order was picked up. The food was really good. The portions are huge. We shared the whole hog meal. We have lots of leftovers. It was not very busy but the server seemed overwhelmed. The was lots of staff so no lack of help. The one thing that was weird was the manager came by every other table around us but never stopped by ours. You've got to try this place! There are so many items on the menu to choose from that you won't be bored. I went with a group to celebrate a friend's retirement after 43.5 years of service. Anyway, we were able to share memories and enjoy ourselves without being interrupted and without annoying those around us. I got the sirloin steak, loaded baked potato, and broccoli. I ate all the broccoli and about half of everything else. My boyfriend got my leftovers, and he said the food was good too. read more

Great Barbecue, good customer service, very customer focused. Appreciated the attention paid to the elders in our party.

I came into this restaurant with my family and while I was eating my burger I bit into a Metal Wire that was inside of the patty, I don't care for any excuses because as someone who works in a restaurant that's unacceptable, although I appreciate the comping of the meal and the service I'm still furious and am aware that's a health code violation. read more

Their spicy BBQ sauce on brisket is so good! I've been to all 3 of their locations. All great!

Had a nice dinner in a great and comfy setting. We were seated with a reservation. I had the prime rib 10oz. With a baked potato and broccoli. It was ok, I didn't taste any smokiness and it was a little tough. A prior patron compared it to House of Prime Rib in. San Francisco. I totally disagree. My wife had the 3 meat platter, briscuit, pulled pork and baby back ribs, her sides were pecan Cole slaw and Mac and cheese. Our waiter Noah was excellent. Cornbread was great. read more
