Nice hanging out place on the beach, good food, and a great place to bring the kids. We had the coconut shrimp appetizers which were fried. Nicely done. A little sweet for me but they disappeared quickly. We also had a pound of steamed shrimp which were seasoned nicely. We split the halibut fish tacos. They were grilled nicely. The margarita was perfect (and 12.00) Overall super tasty meal and fun place to spend time. read more

Loved it here!! Awesome staff, super kid friendly with sandbox and toys, dog friendly, great beachside patio, amazing drink menu, and delicious food! Love love love this place!!! Right on the beach! It doesn't look like much but the food was amazing! My friend remembered it from many years ago but wasn't sure if it was still the same. It was a delightful surprise. Not only is the atmosphere of this place such a calm reggae filled vibe, the food is immaculate. I will be coming back with my friends to indulge in the deliciousness. It is so close to the beach you can eat drink and then go right to the beach barefoot if you'd like, they also have this cozy corner with beach, chairs, side tables in the sand to enjoy a beer and laugh with your friends. The staff is also so nice and so genuine what I've tried so far is the oysters and the calamari and they were probably the best that I've had. read more

Excellent location on the beach, good service, and a lively atmosphere. My lovely bride ordered the coconut shrimp and the triggerfish sandwich. I ordered 1/2 pound of peel-n-eat shrimp, rice and beans, and the key lime pie. The key lime pie is homemade, with love. The only disappointing dish was the coconut shrimp. The coconut coating was crunchy and delicious but the shrimp inside were undercooked. Otherwise, we highly recommend this place. There is a public parking lot about one block away. read more

Food was decent, service not so muc. Went at 7:30, when it wasn't busy anymore. Drinks never got refilled, multiple requests for ketchup, etc never got fudilled, and our waitress was just standing around after we asked for it. We had a great experience here. We loved that we could enjoy the beach with our dogs and also bring them with us to the restaurant. We had the gator tail which was nice. I wasn't particularly fond of the sweet n sour sauce it's served with. I would've liked cocktail sauce or a Cajun sauce better but the gator tail itself was nice. My husband got a bourbon street plate with smoked andouille sausage, shrimp, on a bed of red beans and rice. The sausage was amazing. I ordered some fried shrimp since we hadn't had any on the trip so far. The shrimp were huge and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. 8 shrimp would've been sufficient even with us sharing. The only thing I didn't care for was the cole slaw. It was like eating just cabbage with mayonnaise. I like mayonnaise and vinegar based slaws- but this was bland. So skip the cole slaw and try something else for a side. We also enjoyed our key lime pie that we took home to eat. read more

My original review was deleted off of Google Reviews so I decided to repost it here. My family, boyfriend, and I went for lunch while we were on vacation. The service was awful. The server asked if we were all going to be on one bill, when we told her that it would be 2 separate, she sighed and rolled her eyes. My boyfriend has an extremely bad dairy allergy (to the point that if he has dairy, it would kill him) when asking what he could have the waitress was very rude about everything. He asked if the fries have any sort of dairy on them and the waitress replied with "Well. I would assume so." The only thing that he ordered from there was a salad because the waitress was not willing to ask to see what food contained dairy. The food was good. However, due to our experience none of us are likely to return. I am not recommending this place to anyone with any sort of bad food allergy. read more

We came here on a Wednesday night with a group of about 25-30 of us. Our group was in town for a regional sales meeting, and this was what was chosen for our dinner/surprise mini baby shower for one of our colleagues. Great, little spot right on the sand! Although you aren't actually able to see the ocean from the restaurant, you are right on the sand and there is a perfect little area for the kids to play while the adults eat and drink. The staff did a really great job taking care of us. It was definitely a team effort, and the manager was very involved and constantly making sure everything was meeting our expectations. For food, our table decided to split a bunch of apps. I can't comment on the gator tail, as I did not eat that. The calamari, while not out of this world, it tasted fresh and crispy but not greasy at all. It was actually lighter tasting than most which I liked. The smoked fish dip was pretty good, and I like that they serve it with fried pita. The guacamole was the least favorite of the table. It was very bland and was definitely in need of some salt, pepper and more lime. However, the stand out of the night was by far the ruby red shrimp special. We ended up ordering a couple pounds of this incredible shrimp. After getting food poisoning from shrimp a year ago, I typically try to avoid it. The ruby red shrimp, though, almost tastes more like lobster. It was amazing! If you are there when they have this special, you MUST get it!! read more

I was hesitant about eating here as it was right next to our Airbnb and it seemed to be way too convenient... girl let me tell you something. This place was fantastic. First of all, we walked in with outside drinks, which most places will cause a fuss about, not this place! Our waitress complimented our cups! For drinks, I had the mojito (one of the best I've ever had) and my boyfriend got the Paloma (be careful, they're strong) and neither of us were disappointed. The crab cake appetizer - on point! My boyfriend loved his burger and said it was made perfectly to his order. I ordered the blue crab ravioli and regretted it a couple minutes later because I was afraid it wouldn't be good, no regrets after I received the dish, it was also fan-freakin-tastic. Our server, Brittany, was super attentive and sweet. Please note, also, that we strolled in 30 minutes before close, absolutely no problem for this crew! Service&atmosphere is 5 stars. Food is 3 stars. Our waitress Jennifer was friendly and gave us great service the whole meal. Definitely a great place if you want a beachy atmosphere, it practically is on the beach. The coolest part about this place is the outdoor seating and we went in the rain and couldn't enjoy that aspect. I would imagine they get pretty crowded on a nice day. The food was good, it's a pretty basic seafood menu. The fried buffalo mahi bites were a special but they should add them to the menu, definitely the most memorable thing we tried. read more

We love St. Augustine but we had a terrible weekend with awful service everywhere we were. EXCEPT for the beachcomber. the minute we walked in from the greeting at the door to sitting at the bar with the super kind staff. This place rescued our weekend. I even heard the bartender give advice to a New Hire. He said (hey were you super kind and as nice as possible) that's all it takes. The only thing I could against the location is that I wish there could be more views of the ocean from anywhere you sit. Either way you feel the beach-air, which lifts your spirit where-ever you are. Food: Food is what you'd expect for a dock-side restaurant. Calamari, alligator tail, burgers. The alligator tail didn't so it for me personally but the calamari is plentiful and delicious! Order it Sicilian style for some spice and Parmesan cheese. It comes with cock-tail sauce but they bring you marinara, tartar or whatever your heart desires to dip your squid into it! Over-all food is good! Drinks: My favorite part! The knotty pirate is nothing less then exquisite! If you like Smokey-spicy as my boyfriend does then you will adore this drink. Jalapeños meet mezcal and their union is something you want to try! The real McCoy is also "the-bees-knees." Their version of a rum-runner. If you're going to copy something, it better be better then the original, and that's what beachcomber did! I love stopping by the beachcomber! The bar is a really fun spot to hang out and the drinks are delicious! The food is really quite good too! I have visited several times and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed my meal and cocktails. My most recent visit I had a perfectly made mojito and I ordered the salmon BLT but substituted the fresh catch and it was very tasty...I had the cucumber dill potato salad as my side and it was flavorful and well prepared.
