    Jja jang mien
    Michealea F.

I ordered the jja jang mien with tang su yuk. It's the best korean dish combined together. The portions are massive so both my friend and I couldn't finish it. We had to take away a lot of them. So, it's worth the price. The taste is good but not very memorable. Its a nice comfort meal. There aren't anything that stands out compared to other places, but it's still a good place to grab a meal with friends.

Recently discovered Bbong restaurant by the Lougheed mall North Road neighborhood. They serve a fantastic blend of Korean and Chinese flavors. Their portions are generous! We ordered the combo B and it can feeds 2-3 people, and possibly a 4th! The combo incluedd Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and Kkanpunggi. I enjoyed the Jajangmyeon and Kkanpunggi (sweet and sour fried chicken). The jjamppong was on the spicier side and the noodles were a bit softer than I liked it but it had a good amount of seafood in the noodle soup. Service was very friendly where they continuously checked in on us. Overall, it was tasty, filling, and a great value meal

My coworker invited me for a dinner here last Monday. I went here around 7 it was so busy. The waitress was so busy that she did not see me and I couldn't get a table until talking to a waitress by the till. It was nice that staff informed me about 50 minutes of waiting to get food, but it actually didn't take that long. We ordered Combo A ($42.99) to share together. Food was good. I really enjoyed Jjambbong(Spicy noodle) and Tangsooyuk were pretty tasty. I somehow liked Jjangbbong than blackbean noodles. Good experience overall. However the waitress wanted to kick us out when there was about 20 minutes left until closing. We sat in the rear dining room and it was hot inside.

A nice place near the back corner of a strip mall complex with a H-Mart. There are other restaurants along the same side so you may accidentally walk into another restaurant. The plates were larger than we thought as dishes at other places are smaller so we assumed it would be the same size. We were wrong so we had too much food. We ordered Ojingeo Deopbap ( spicy squid with vegetables with rice ), beef bulgogi and haemul sundubu ( spicy seafood soft tofu with egg and vegetables ). The Ojingeo Deopbap was really good. It was spicy but not too spicy that you would lose your sense of taste. Although we do like to eat spicy food so everyone's tolerance will be different. The beef bulgogi was also a bigger dish than other places (same size as the squid dish). It was good. The flavors are like other places so standard. The Haemul sundubu was okay. It is a good item for those cold days like a couple of nights ago when it was 0°C. We will be back to try the noodles as there was one we wanted to try but had already ordered these dishes.

Recently they offer a promotion of $11.99 seafood noodle soup that comes in a generous portion and is delicious. Highly recommended. Good service. Clean ambiance.

Soup good, banchan good. All good. Came in post tennis and saw many families having the Korean Style Sweet and Sour Pork, Black bean Noodle Combo. Need to come back with a larger crew for those family meals

My favorite place Because the Korean host/trot singer Yusansuel , so I decide to give it a try. As always Korean loves seafood, squid cook perfectly no real shrimp but it's ok. Lovely dish make you full as male eater. Highly recommend for this restaurant as always Don't bring your high level expectation !! You're here to enjoy good food !! Waitress came ask how's the food when I'm 98% finished which is funny but I don't care much as the food is good that's more important. Pay and leave with full belly

This place gives you a lot of bang for your buck. We ordered the seafood pancake ($23) and family combo B ($43). Pancake was good but not worth $20+. Combo B comes with the holy trinity - jjangmyeon, jjampong and kkan pung gi. I usually prefer fried chicken over the sweet & sour pork (but if you don't, you can select combo A). Combo B is a great deal - huge portions. Definitely enough to share between 4 adults and you'll probably have leftovers. jjajangmyeon & banchan
    Anna M.

My boyfriend and I had a mighty need for some jjajangmyeon and this place did not disappoint. Service was pretty quick, and our dish came out nice and hot. Its noodles had a nice texture and the nood : sauce ratio was perfect. The flavor was also great. Our eyes just sort of glazed over after the first bite and we slurped away ( ° ° ) The banchan are good, but nothing to write home about. We split one order and with the side dishes had plenty of food - definitely a great place to go if you're on a budget. Our servers were all friendly and seemed knowledgable and caring. Overall it was a really nice and comfortable experience.

Friendly service with variety of food menus. The Jjajangmen was, actually, quite delicious (highly recommended), but the Oyster Jjampong was somewhat disappointing - the broth with no flavor and the noodle tasted washed-out. Overall portions were good though.

We came on a Thursday at 11:30. We ordered Combo B which comes with Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jangpong (seafood noodles) and Kkanpungi (fried chicken in sauce). It came with three sides fish cake, potato and kimchi. Unfortunately (I believe because we weren't Korean - can't confirm) they didn't provide us with the onion and radish that I saw other tables were provided with. What is Jajangmyeon with radish... A slight disappointment. The size of the jajangmyeon and jangpong were on the smaller side. The jajangmyeon tasted like it came from a package. It was probably one of the least satisfying jajangmyeon that I've had. The flavour of the black bean wasn't very strong. The jangpong was not very spicy. There was quite a bit of seafood in it but overall wouldn't get it again. The kkanpungi was VERY large. The outside was quite thick. The flavour was not bad. It wasn't very crispy it was more chewy. For the price, ($45) it isn't bad for the amount of food you get. But overall the flavours weren't astonishing. I wouldn't come back for the same items

This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. Here's what we ordered: * Beef Tartare Bibimbap - Not your typical bibimbap! The raw beef was beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. This was hands down our favourite dish! * Naengmyeon - Cold noodles in a super refreshing broth. Perfectly chewy with a balanced, savoury tang. A must-have on a hot day. * Japchae - Excellent portion, great price. The noodles were springy and not greasy at all--just the right balance of flavour. Great value, quality ingredients, and authentic flavours--Hansol is definitely going on our go-to list whenever we're craving comforting Korean food. We are highly recommend it for students, families, or anyone who loves real Korean cooking! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 each person (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking: 4/5 Tips: * Free refillable banchan (side dishes) * Must-try: naengmyeon (cold noodles) * Hidden gem: beef tartare bibimbap-flavourful and beautifully presented. * Limited seating - expect wait during peak hours * Tasty, affordable, and generous portions Would I Return: Yes ‍

We ordered short rib BBQ, Beef tartare Bibimbap, and original-flavor deep-fried chicken wings. Beef tartare Bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl with a variety of vegetables on top of the rice. The gochujang sauce was served separately, allowing us to adjust the spiciness to our preference. It was a pretty good dish. The short rib BBQ was very tender and nicely seasoned. It was slightly on the sweeter side, very delicious. I will definitely order it again. The original flavor deep-fried chicken wings were served fresh and hot. They were incredibly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside--very good! Next time, I should order them with a flavored seasoning, as I already knew the original version was cooked with less saltiness, meant to be paired with a sauce. Overall, I really like this restaurant. The food tasted good, and the most notable point was the reasonable price! It was a very good deal, and it has now become one of my regular go-to places.

Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and while they were short-staffed, they were quick enough to get what we requested and ordered in a timely manner.
