Food was amazing. The service left a little to be desired. Server was nonexistent for most of the dining experience.

Loved the food and most of the service. We had a reservation for 15 minutes ahead of closing and were immediately told as we were seated the kitchen was closing so we needed to order quickly. I kinda feel you shouldn't take reservations that close to closing if you don't intend to provide a normal experience but maybe that's just me. We ended up having four different servers, and three were very friendly but I felt the last one just wanted us to wrap it up so she could get out of there. The food was terrific. Fried chicken and falafel dishes were among the best I've had. Salmon flatbread was average. They're very good at accommodating special dietary restrictions as well. I would not hesitate to go back as it was a very good overall experience. Just don't go near closing as a big part of the experience is social eating with your group. Feeling hurried rather than casual was a detractor. read more

Had lunch with my family at Ash'Kara Wednesday at 1:00. Food was super yummy and came out super fast. We'll be back!

This place is the bomb every single time. Happy hour deals are incredible, and the food always hits the spot. We got hummus with fresh baked pita, pickled veggies, and chicken skewers with rice. All the best flavors. Shout out to Rebecca, our waitress. Great service! read more

This place was supposed to open February 2020... but Dan Asher had to wait a year to open. And it was worth the wait. We were lucky to be the first inside customers on opening night. The menu was incredible and creative. We had lion's mane mushroom kabab, Waffle fries with falafel flavor and and pomegranate ketchup, the most amazing baba garnish I have ever had (and I generally don't care for Baba ganosh), fresh made pita fired in a wood stove, and a salad with picked beets and radishes. I wish them all the luck in the world. They deserve it! read more

Had higher expectations! Went for dinner, I can recommend the half chicken (though over priced) and the carrots. Falafel was okay, pickle veggies and hummus/pita where underwhelming read more

***ADJUSTING REVIEW AFTER READING OTHERS*** Please take all 1 and 2 star reviews seriously on this restaurant. The drink menu had no Moroccan influence, and there are no beer choices. My wife and I ordered the lamb kofta plate. Each plate was $17 (which is the most affordable entree in the returaunt). The "plate" had 2 lamb kofta (small meatballs on a skewer) and a half potion of rice. Furthermore, even though there were only two of us, they charged us, and presumably every patron, a 20% gratuity. We were not made aware of this until after the bill was delivered. They claim this gratuity for a split evenly amongst all staff, including kitchen. In my mind for the price and serving size, the owners of this establishment should be able to pay their kitchen staff sufficiently without robbing from the front staff. I hope that they actually tip the bartender out, because this policy is toxic to both the patron and the staff. This location permits these policies because they have an abundance of new clientele. I however, will unfortunately not be returning, and I suggest you find a more authentic Moroccan restaurant to satisfy you (we had to stop at Wendy on the way home). read more

Just WOW - I absolutely adore Ash'Kara! I'd never been to an Israeli restaurant before, but I was looking for a unique and fun place to grab dinner with my mom when she was in town and this spot popped up. I'm so glad we tried it!! The food is incredible - it's "small bites" style, so I recommend getting a few different dishes to share. The Lamb Kofta had to have been my favorite, but everything was great - including the drinks!! Service here is incredible - we told our waiter what he liked and everything he recommended was awesome. Couldn't recommend this place enough! read more

Expensive and just okay. Cocktails were mostly ice and very small. Small portions of food that were just okay, but pita was great

Cool space! I came here for a rehearsal dinner and it was neat they were allowed to rent the whole space out. The food was really good. I liked the bread and all the hummus/dips. The falafel was great too. Drinks were good and strong. Bartenders were friendly. The restaurant isn't huge so seating is limited but the food was worth the wait. read more

Very accommodating to changing our reservation, babysitter called in sick, so we took our kids, and accommodating to our food allergies. We had an old fashion and drink of the day, some pink flamingo with whiskey and lavender. both excellent drinks. We relied on our server to guide us through the menu. Two kids and two adults and we had chicken schwarma hummus, carrots, lamb, and Colorado Bass. Everything was excellent. read more

I'd heard amazing things about Ash'Kara, and it lived up to the hype. We made early reservations because the place was pretty booked up, and we were happy we did. We got two types of hummus - the one with shishito peppers and another with charred onions, and we loved both. They come with piping hot pita bread. We also got the wood oven roasted carrot, crispy cauliflower, and grilled octopus, all of which blew us away. The owners of this restaurant also own Senor Bear next door, one of my Denver favorites. read more

Middle of the road food, bright lights affecting the ambiance, service was a little strange. High: hummus with mushroom was pretty good. Low: spiced rice was devoid of flavor; honestly surprisingly bland. read more

So delicious! There were several dipping options & they all looked amazing. We had the Muhammara and it was so good, I could've licked the plate clean. We tried almost all of their vegetarian options and each one was creative and tasty. The location is awesome and the ambiance was hipstery Moroccan which I loved. read more

Restaurant week is meant for establishments to show off their chops to new patrons. I won't be back, the prix fixe menu was lacklustre at best and did not showcase flavors of the region, especially bland rice added to an already blandish halloumi skewer and the sad 'butterscotch' dessert which is nowhere near the regional cuisine's flavors. None of the four dishes surprised as a bib gourmand, and that designation should be removed from this menu. Ambiance really is a crowded storefront. Service, should have been short and sweet explanations about issues that were obviously mistakes, that should not have happened in the first place including, tepid table water; silverware picked up by hostess, was not seen as missing when the main course arrived; dessert spoons were not brought with dessert; opentable and ash'kara reminded me at least three times of my reservation time, yet my table was not ready at my reservation time, and I couldn't get a drink from the understaffed bar in the 15 minutes we waited 'in the way' to get to the table. A long explanation about why the dessert that was on the menu was on the menu. Stick to an outstanding doctored up baklava, not a deconstructed butterscotch pomegranate mess? When I left the restaurant I thought, two star-- could of been better. Waking up this morning a 260 buck meal for three (20% gratuity added automatically) was NOT GOOD. This place has a lot of work to do and good press to spin to make it worth it again for me to try. read more

Dined here last night. Party of 4. We ordered the Feast which is $75 per person. The first course of hummus, baba ganoush, labne, and olives and pita was delicious. The second course was surprisingly scant. Salad literally had 3 cherry tomatoes, one ounce of lettuce and one tablespoon of feta (for 4 people ordering the feast), a coffee cup of pasta and 4 falafel smaller than ping pong balls. Final course was one half of a chicken breast on top of two pieces of broccolini, one 6 ounce portion of salmon and one sweet potato roasted with chickpeas. I found this to be a very delicate amount of food for 4 people ordering a feast. Call it a sample but not a feast. $75 was too much for ordinary food, ordinary ingredients, and a really small portions. read more

Great place, food is some of the best in the city with a great atmosphere. We had a minor hiccup that mgmt took care of and that went a long way. I'll be back. read more

Ordered some take out today and what I got was a dry wrap with falafel and a single piece of lettuce. No spread, no sauce, no salad, nothing else except the dry bread and overcooked falafel. Felt like it was yesterday's wrap warmed up in a microwave. Then I notice they added a %20 service fee to my bill...for take out it seems like a rip off. Won't be going back here again. read more

4 stars because all dishes were very good and only one really stood out for us! The one that stood out (lamb kofte) though was so good that we ordered a 2nd portion! The pita, muhammara, couscous, and falafel were very good. We would definitely come back for the lamb kofte!!! read more

We ate here over the weekend, and the food, drinks and service were all superb. Even though we had to sit outside in the cold due to the pandemic restrictions, they've done a great job of covering up the patio and providing heating lamps, and we all felt totally comfortable! A few highlights: - We all ordered Hot Toddy's (because who drinks a cold cocktail when it's snowing??), and they definitely hit the spot! - Favorite food items include: best pita bread in town, hummus with feta, roasted carrots, falafel, and the new bowls - all delicious! read more

Came here for lunch for the first time. My bill had an additional 20% added to the bill WITHOUT my Permission. A tip is for, hopefully, good service. I don't call an additional charge good service! I will never be a patron of a restaurant that indiscriminately charges an additional fee to supplement someone's income. Ted S. read more

Amazing food, amazing service, flowery beautiful ambiance! Fresh hot pita with creamy hummus is worth the visit alone.

Please open up a spot in Fort Collins. We so need something like this. I am always craving your food!

I've now been here twice and have had a bad experience both times. The first time we had a 9:45 reservation, they sat us 5 minutes late, and then told us the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes so we needed to put in our orders immediately. It was so strange. Why would they ever have seatings at 9:45 if this were the case? I gave them a second chance, and decided to do the tasting menu with a small group of friends. The waitress promised it was a great deal. It was hugely disappointing and the itemized bill of what we were given was significantly less than the tasting menu total. Think 100+ dollars off. We were completely gipped. The food is good but after these two experiences, I now can be certain the food isn't good enough to ever go back again. Extremely disappointing. read more

5 stars for service!! My husband and I had an enjoyable experience at Ash'Kara. We really enjoyed the dishes - we prefer sharing multiple dishes as a dinner option, and this fit the bill. However, I did feel that it was a overpriced for the amount of food you received. In terms of service- I couldn't be more impressed. I booked a reservation on Open Table and upon arriving we were told their must of been a glitch in the system as there were no open tables that night. However, Blair was beyond accommodating -- she saved us a spot at the bar as soon as it opened, comped our drinks & order of hummus, and brought us a glass of champagne as an apology! Thank you Blair for fitting us in and providing above and beyond customer service!! read more

Had a great evening at Ash Kara last night! @christinaBrandt was a great bartender (officially coining the term "Lifechanger" for my favorite Anejo tequila on the rocks with an orange slice dipped in cinnamon) Food favorites were the wood roasted carrots, the hummus with chicken shawarma and unbelievable hot pita. Highly recommend for a fun, delicious night! Sit at the bar! read more

Probably our new favorite local place. We sat at the bar and had great service. I wish we remembered his name to give him some credit. Here's what we had: - hummus with feta comes with whole wheat pita - house made pickles - lamb kofte - saganaki comes with whole wheat pita The pita came out fresh and steaming from the oven. As people that enjoy our carbs, we appreciate the quality, taste, and freshness. The hummus was delicious. The feta was clearly fresh. Definitely would get again. Should note that the feta was an additional charge but I don't know if I'd have liked it without. House made pickles. Pretty standard. For the happy hour price of $3 I have no complaints Lamb kofte- Cooked very well and had just the right of spices. It also came with yogurt sauce with complimented it well. Saganaki- I really enjoyed it but my boyfriend says he'd have preferred it slightly cooked longer and some more lemon. But personal preference! Overall, can't beat the quality, service, and taste for the price we paid. read more

Really excellent drinks and food served in a hip setting. Everything done really well - great apps with the traditional Middle Eastern mainstays and delicious entree options to follow up. Went with a big group and we shared several dishes so I tried significant amount of the items on the menu and everything I sampled was a hit. Not overly fat or salty so it's a perfect dinner spot before a night out on the town. read more

We had a wonderful dinner here last night! Great ambiance for date night and delicious food. My favorite was the chicken tagine for two (was able to have some for lunch leftovers) and the pita so definitely order a dip- we had the muhammara which was great. Great place to share things. I am looking forward to going back and trying the hummus and halibut! For cocktails, our favorite was the mediterranean V&T and the house red blend was great with dinner. read more

Overpriced and food is ok. I picked up an order for just a small plate of hummus & a side of rice. Was charged a 20% to go fee for picking up my own food. My bill was $20 and i still tipped. I could've went to Jerusalem's and got a whole full meal, plus a drink n dessert for that price! Thank you...next! read more

Checked this place out for happy hour. The menu was pretty limited, without anything too substantial, but prices were good. They don't serve the dinner menu until 5, so from 4-5pm, it was limited to HH menu only. We tried the Za'aatar fries and pickle plate. Pickled beets were outstanding! The house-made gin and tonics were refreshing, and the cocktail list was pretty enticing and creative. Service was pretty decent, but fairly slow for how slow the restaurant was. The roasted asparagus (off the dinner menu) was filling, well-cooked and a good combination of flavors. However, the prices on the regular menu were pretty steep, and I could imagine dinner could rack up quickly. The menu was very vegetable heavy, with few meat options. Very many GF options too. My sister concluded that she wouldnt return, but I'd give it another try. read more

Denver is getting a number of good Mediterranean restaurants as of late, and Ash'Kara is certainly a strong addition. I swooned for the vibe upon entry- what an attractive, hip, cozy place. I don't love high top tables, but we made do. Our server, Taylor, was excellent- attentive without being annoying, knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Cocktails were on point- if you like sweet and tart, there's one that has blueberry and Prosecco- I highly recommend it. Both dudes I was with seemed happy with their old fashioneds. We shared many small plates, the stand outs were absolutely the saganaki and the roasted carrots. Falafel and Hummus were good, but portions were stingy. I was also sad that they had run out of the mushroom addition but the leeks were tasty. Mussels were fine, but I'd skip them next time. The true gem of the meal for us was the lamb tangine! The mix of colors, textures, and tastes was certainly a treat! The meat was not gamey or chewy (both problems you can encounter when ordering lamb), and the accompanying veggies were wonderful! Oh, the little bits of pomegranate added just the right amount of sweetness here and there! While the menu said this dish could feed four, I disagree- not if you have two hungry dudes! Ultimately, my review aligns with those of many fellow yelpers- great atmosphere, wonderful service, tasty and unique food, but pricey in relation to portion size. This is common for trendy spots in Denver though, and this meal is better then that offered at many of the surrounding establishments, so absolutely don't hesitate making a reservation here if you're looking for a lovely meal in LoHi. read more

Incredible food and excellent service. Favorite dishes at our table were the muhammara, steak with potatoes, and lamb neck with curry gnocchi. Also a nice selection of mocktails for those who don't drink (the pomegranate-thyme one was especially good). Only complaint is having to put down a substantial deposit for a reservation--it seems like this only incentivizes people to show up if they are symptomatic, and it was confusing as to how the deposit would be refunded. Otherwise just a fantastic experience! read more

Ordered a falafel bowl through Door Dash. My first time ordering from here. I was delivered a tiny bowl with the driest, least flavorful falafel I've ever had. For the price tag of $20 there was not very much food here either. The rice was tasty but there were maybe 3 spoonfuls in the bowl. Someone recommended this place to me but this was so bad I will not order from here again. I want to give 1 star, but the salad and rice were tasty enough and the ingredients looked fresh, even though there was barely any to eat. read more

This place is pricey! At least, out of my normal price range. Beyond that, the servings are not even that big. If you are planning on coming here I hope you have a Groupon or are not a college student like I! All of that aside, very delicious food here. I am not too familiar with Middle Eastern dishes but this was a great invitation. You mix and match all of your meals to create your own special dish. A unique dining experience with service that truly went above and beyond. I recommend if you have got the change! read more

Ash'Kara - Menu - Mediterranean Near Me - Denver, Colorado

We went for Easter brunch. A bad choice. They were not prepared for even the modest crowd that was there. They had only 1 runner and appeared to be short of wait staff yet, we were told that they were not short. The service was terrible. But even that can be tolerable if the food is good and reasonably priced. This was neither. Ash'Kara has adopted the tiny plate, big price concept which a vocal minority seem to think should be the vogue these days. We are not among them. The servings for $10 and up, we so tiny, it was comical. One dish involved a spoonful of each of babaganoush, guacamole and labne. I had a duck prosciutto: Two 1/4" x 3/4" see thru pieces of meat, and egg on top of a thick bed of hard cheese. (It had obviously been under the heat lamp too long.) The Fattoush (sp?) Spring Salad was like, $11. It was minimalist fare enough to feed maybe two not-very-hungry people. I will say that the hummus, what little they give you for $10... and the pita bread, are excellent. Unfortunately, we could never track down our server to get another order. Oh well. Maybe Snooze will offer an Easter brunch next year... read more

I'm a huge fan of small tasting and share plates meals where you get to try all the things, and Ash'Kara did not disappoint! Highlights included the freshly made pita bread, the saganaki cheese dip, the cauliflower and squash veggie dishes, and the lamb kofti. We also tried the carrots, the falafel and the whole fish. We also totally loved the cookie sampler dessert which was a sweet and satisfying end to the delicious meal. We added on onions and feta to our hummus, and at $4 a pop for a tiny bit of extra topping was not worth it IMO. Portions are small for the price but the flavors are so incredible, and the service was so friendly and helpful. She even filleted our fish dish for us at the table and was super on top of everything - and we were pleased to get to meet with the chef and chat with him at our table too! I'd definitely be back. Pro tip- happy hour is Mon-Sat from 4 to 6! read more

I've seen and been in other restaurants at this location, and I'm confident this place won't be gone anytime soon. This is how you do Mediterranean. This is how you do dinner. I came with friends on a Sunday night before a holiday so it was busy. We split a bottle of wine and ordered several small plates. My favorites were the mussels, roasted carrots, and the house made toasty hot pita bread, which came with the hummus. Oh and the pickles! Can't forget those spicy pickles. Also, let's talk about how careful the staff was to space out the small plates so we didn't get them all at once. Such a simple thing to do and makes the biggest difference. We decided to end with a cookie tray and a generous half glass of wine. The cookie tray contained a small orange, almond cookie of some sort. Our server spritzed the cookie with orange essence from a perfume bottle, and it was the most extra thing I've ever seen, but I loved every second of it. read more

Was looking forward to this spot and the food after hearing about it. We have a high standard for middle eastern food as we lived in Israel for 5 years. Overall food was good. Portions were very small for the price. The hummus and pita was probably the best part. We really enjoyed the lamb kofta. Falafel was dense and not as hot as I like it (fresh out the fryer) but flavor was good. Why the 3 stars? The service was so blah. No one greeted us when we walked in. We sat ourself at the bar and the manager saw us seat ourselves and we were like "hey can we sit here" and he's like "oh ya sure". Then no one said anything. The manager was RIGHT next to us. Didn't even give us a menu!! Neither did a bartender until I asked!!! And the manager is literally next to us talking to someone. Like come onnnnnn. We dealt with a few bartenders. No one gave us any insight into the menu either. To top it all off. The manager started pouring shots for himself and the bartender and probably for a table and asks us "oh btw do you want any adult beverages, a shot maybe?". And since we saw him pouring shots already we said "sure we'll take a shot" (after him and his bartender took a shot in front of us at this point). He proceeded to hand us the menu like for us to order the shots. Just such bad customer service especially from the manager. Luckily, the bartender heard him offer us a shot and came to us when he left and was like "ya I heard him offer you a shot and walk away so I'll give you guys one". So lucky for her. Won't be back. Enough middle eastern restaurants around for better value and service. read more
