Restaurant appearance: The restaurant was not clean, maintenance was long over due the bench sitting was torn, the walls needed to be repainted focusing on the ledge on the wall. Service: The waiter was running all over the place therefore he could not provide a great dining experience. The food took longer than expected. The waiter did not return to our table to see if our meal was prepared correctly, he did not refill our drinks. Three hostess were just standing at the front counter talking to one another and did not greet you upon arrival or thank you for dinning upon your departure. Food quality: I went in for the shrimp and grits this dish disappointed the quality of the shrimp was not gulf shrimp as described on the menu. I selected this restaurant because it was getting 4.5 stars on Yelp. I was extremely disappointed. Great brunch I had with coworkers. My shrimp omlette was splendid and had a generous portion of shrimp. The grits were simple and plain, and I really liked it with a dash of salt. The grilled potato isn't bad either. Definitely get the ice coffee though! Comes in a hipster mason jar and really freshened up my morning. Price, however, was on the higher end. read more

Definitely a go to spot in Ridgeland for brunch! We had a rather large party and had to wait about 45 mins which was fine but for anyone with big partIes trying to go I HIGHLY suggest calling ahead. Once we were seated the service was excellent and everything came out fast. We had sooo many diffErent options and everything was great. I went with the Blood oOrange Bourbon Sour and the Lobster and Brie Omelette with a side of City Grits.The drink was strong but very tasty. The omelette was delicious and one of the best I've ever had. Tons of lobster and the food was fresh hot not sitting under the warmer hot. The City Grits had loads of flavor and seasoned perfectly! I'll start by saying I have lived here for 8 years and this has always been my go to place but today has completely turned me off. When i arrived they weren't the normal busy they usually are. I ordered hot chocolate and a water I never received my hot chocolate the entire time. I noticed other people waited over 30 mins just for drinks. When I got my biscuits and gravy I ordered a side pancake that never came and was very upset to find my biscuits were not cooked. Completely dough filled. I never leave a review but this one had me so upset I know the owner would agree this is not how he wants his business ran. We've tried multiple times to get in on a Sunday fully expecting a wait. Host/hostesses were rude when we checked on our table after waiting well past the estimated time. We sat outside watching the waitstaff and noting the seated customers frustration. They may serve delicious food but we'll never know because we won't be back. The wait is ridiculous. Two hours to seat one person. They sat down a lady with more people who cut in line. The food was warm. I figured that the wait was long because there were no tables but there was plenty. I figured the food was going to be out of this world and it wasn't. It was overrated and got cold quick. High hopes. Broken hearted. Nestled in the side alley walk of an outdoor mall is this nice little breakfast restaurant. Upon entering we are greeted by smiling and very attentive hostesses. Probably some of the best I've experienced. Had to wait around 10 minutes for a booth only because the online wait list was ahead of us. Once seated our experience was "BLAH" at best. The waiter never acknowledged us for at least 8 minutes. The restaurant was not hopping busy. Ordered coffee and water. That as well took a bit. Breakfast wise I ordered the Mardi Gras Omelette. I was anticipating a juicy, succulent, flavorful omelette stuffed with all the Cajun fixing as described on the menu. Once received it look good but it was dry, over cooked and really not juicy with any kind of sauce. The potato's were nice and crunchy. Best part of the whole meal. Service wise, our waiter did not give us any attention. Had to ask for sugar and butter several times. He never attended our table in which it became extremely cluttered. While we hit them up close to closing time, we waited about 15 minutes to have anyone even come to our attention. Mind you, they had a huge party outside with probably over 20 plus people. So I am sure they were swamped. But when we did get our chance to order our server was super kind, and quick to deliver a great breakfast. We both had the hash brown Benedict which was amazing! I ordered a Sweet Tea (a little too sweet if you got "the sugars" go for the unsweetened or ask for 1/4th sweet and the rest unsweetened) a water will dilute it tho and the waitresses were very accommodating! We went on Veteran's Day for breakfast but we waited so long that it turned into brunch. We were told 20 minute wait for 2 adults and a highchair. People who came after us, sat before us-- we ended up waiting an hour only cause we finally decided to sit outside or otherwise it would've been another wait-- because the guy said something messed up somewhere on the ipad. Our server was nice but we had to ask twice for straws and had to ask for eating utensils after he brought the food out. The food is good but really overpriced for the quality. I had Steak and Eggs and the steak really needed some better seasoning throughout the inside..however it was cooked to my preference- medium rare. The coffee is good. I no longer live in Mississippi and I'm sorry to say but many of the restaurants I go to in Jackson and surrounding areas have terrible service. So this was a very pleasant surprise. Backstory: I would give them more stars if I could. The new Memphis location on Park is scheduled to open by March. Very nice decor - upscale done right and way above Panera's. Think Palo Alto modern where they were based before opening a corporate office downtown Memphis. Food was excellent and we ordered everything from scrumptious beignets with marmalade to several breakfast specials including blackberry pancakes. The coffee was served in custom glazed mugs which I wanted even though I don't and never will drink coffee. Our server was Mac who should be a manager - he is great! The service was poor at best, part of our tables order wasn't brought out. The appetizer never arrived, and when we asked to cancel it, the waitres brought it out anyway even though the meal was almost finished. Our coffee wasn't refilled, and no condiments were brought with the meal even after asking. Spending this much for breakfast, you would expect a better experience. The last experience wasn't great, so we thought we would give it another try, but this time was worse. None of my family are one to complain, but we really hate to lose a nice breakfast place in such a nice area to poor staffing choices. read more
