Cozy spot tucked away alongside a business strip. My mom wanted to come for lunch as she enjoyed her first experience. Inside you place your order and pay at the register. Then you self serve your drinks and choose your seats. I got their blue plate special of the fried catfish with the turnip greens, mac & cheese, & creamed corn. The place reminds me of Ajax in Oxford. But the taste didn't compare. The mac & cheese wasn't as cheesy as I would have liked it to be. The fish was fine but I would've preferred it fried hard. The turnip greens were ok. Tasted it fine with the hot sauce. I am glad they added the cornbread to it but I didn't like the salty taste of it. Great customer service. I just wish the servers wore gloves.

Shrimp platter had seven shrimp and was $19.24. Food was good but disappointing to get so little for almost twenty bucks.

9/10/24-Receipt #0133: Ordered to go Blue plate hamburger, steak, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, and fried green tomatoes. Heard many good things about this meal and restaurant. I was highly disappointed the hamburger steak was overcooked blacken in some spaces with holes in other and just dry, the greens taste like they had a pound of sugar in them and overdone mushy, fried green tomatoes undercooked and had enough batter that you could've made pancakes, Mac and cheese very dry and uneatable. It was a terrible meal I've been sick and I went there to get me something to eat, and I could hardly eat anything on that plate highly disappointed. I want my money back. Country fried steak sandwich ran through me like water. Tell your cooks to wash their hands after scratching their ***. Will be some time before I have the guts (literally) to roll the dice in this place.

Hearty grill, good southern selection of staples in a modest atmosphere. Laudable service and fresh food at Trace Groll.

Tasty food, prompt service; the turnip greens were a little plain. Onion rings and fries were crispy, catfish done perfectly.

Fast, good old country cooking. We had the special of shrimp creole over rice and it was excellent. Thought I was in Louisiana.

Maybe the best burger in the greater Jackson area. It's well worth a few minutes drive from wherever you are in Jackson/Madison.

But this one was just right for me. I feel like you could show up after a round of golf and it would be cool. That's as long as you don't have swamp ass, LOL. Inside is well lit and airy. There are lots of windows and it's quite comfortable. Our server was great. So good in fact, I have no recollection of them or the service. That's strange. Nothing. I can't even remember if they were male or female?!?!? I do however remember my food. We started with crab claws. They were darn tasty. Nice lemon flavor to the batter and the sauces were great accompaniments. Would recommend! For dinner I chose the Prime Chile Rubbed Flank Steak. Gosh damn was it good! Perfectly cooked, seared well, and still medium rare inside! The sauce was fantastic as well and the fresh cut Parmesan fries were a stupendous addition to the dish! I loved the whole damn thing!!! The spinach was quite unique and very good. It was like crispy sautéed of something. I must have made some noises that my dinner companion had to know about because he ate a couple slices of my steak after I was done. I thought about dessert but the boys didn't want to help so maybe next time!! I will come back here. I hope this meal was not a fluke!! I can't stop thinking about that damn steak!! '26 - 40

Definitely a good place for lunch…read more Keeping in the theme with wanting to eat southern food while in the south, it was redfish once again. Just like yesterday's redfish, this one was different but absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of lunch options, as well as some daily lunch specials made the choice what to eat a tough one. Leaning towards what they're known for, redfish, I gave this place a try as well. This was a thick piece of redfish which included lump crab on top with a cream sauce, smothered all over it. The meal included garlic mashed potatoes, as well as string green beans. The green beans weren't super plentiful, but they were good. The mashed potatoes were a little on the cool temperature side, but they were also very good. You don't get much lump crab, but that too was good. One of the folks got a sandwich with their special chips. I had to try the chips, must say they were excellent. The server for as busy as she was, was terrific.

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

My meal consisted of Trout from Snake River in a spicy cream sauce. I was worried at 1st bc you Mississippians do spice differently than we do in the PNW. IT WAS PHENOMENAL. The sauce was a bit much. The trout was literally swimming in it. It was good but I did scrap about 1/2 off. The shrimp were flavorful but a tad overcooked. Had a definite chew to them. Now let's talk that chicken. O. M. G. Hubby & I share so we can get the best of both worlds & that is the best friend chicken I have ever had. It was boneless. It was juicy. When I say juicy there is no way I could adequately describe how velvety this chicken was. The breading had a nice crunch without it being too much AND it kept its crunch when leftover. I can not say enough good things about the chicken. Now hubby devoured that red beans & rice. He loved every bite. The sausage was really flavorful & perfect spice. I've had some sausage around here that is so spicy I left it untouched. This was not that. Perfect amount of heat although a tad overcooked cooked. We will 1,000% be back. I cannot wait to have that chicken between a bun. See you soon!

I have a dental issues so I ordered the Onions, Mushrooms & Gravy OTS. (My side was Mac&Cheese.) Well, I had to call the store bc neither the gravy OR the Mac&cheese made it to our hotel. Of course I sent hubby back for the gravy but by the time I realized the Mac&cheese was missing, hubby was already eating. I opted to just call to make them aware of the missing order items. According to the manager in the phone Mac&Cheese wasn't even on the ticket yet it's printed AND CHARGED on our receipt. I decided to just try & enjoy the meal. 4 bites. FOUR. The roast was SOOOOO salty. I thought it was the gravy so I kept the sandwich for later and tried to eat it NOT THE GRAVY. It wasn't the gravy at all. I had hubby try it and he spit out the 1st bite. The salt was overpowering. Unbelievably overpowering. Our bill was $55 ish & it was the worst meal we have had here in Mississippi. The 2 star was specifically for the linguine.
