Honestly, I so wanted to be surprised, sadly I wasn't. The food was so greasy we couldn't eat it, the fries, the onion rings(not really rings, blobs of shredded onions) the sandwiches. My wife ate half of her burger (frozen patty, very obvious), I could only stand one bite of the shrimp Po Boy and tossed it. ( wasn't a PoBoy, 3 little stuffed buns(grease bombs). For the cost I expected better , $37.00. Maybe it was an off night but if I'm back in the area, I won't be trying it again. read more

What a great place to eat. Don't let the exterior fool you. Yes it looks like a dive. And then? Some of the best good I have ever had has been in a dive. We had the shrimp boil. Best boil I have had in a long time. Shrimp were perfectly seasoned, fantastic sausage, potato, corn on the cob and a slice of garlic toast all done to perfection. Billy is the nicest fellow ever. The owners were incredibly kind and we enjoyed visiting with them while we ate. we have a 38 foot motorhome that tows an SUV and it's often hard to find parking and good food- this place had both! If you're just looking for a meal, don't stop. If you're looking for the feeling that you're at a good friend's home- this is your place. We came in as strangers and left feeling like we'd known Mr Billy for years. The atmosphere is fantastic and welcoming. I almost felt like I was living a country song- in a shack on a dirt road right next to the train tracks. There wasn't any live music tonight, but Billy serenaded us by playing the saw. What a talent! The food. I only wish I lived closer so I could stop in regularly to try what Billy is cooking up! We were fortunate to try that fried green tomatoes (did yourself a favor and order some), the shrimp po' boy (delicious and HUGE- my husband who is a bottomless pit couldn't finish it), fried okra (the perfect crispness), the 1/2 pound shrimp boil (YUM), the kid's hamburger (the flavor was fantastic), and the kid's chicken (breaded perfectly). Crawbillys is only about a mile off I-20 (exit 68, I believe). Go and enjoy. And I guarantee you- if you aren't happy about the food, let Billy know. One of the best hamburgers that I have ever had! That being said, $9.00 for just the burger is kinda on the steep side. We ordered fries and onion rings also. $ 4.00 for 5 frozen onion rings was also a little expensive. The fries were frozen and well, not much to write home about. The atmosphere is wonderful, nice place to sit and eat outside on a beautiful deck outside. The Owner was very enthustiac. The rest room was clean and had fun reading some of the posts on the walls. We would definitly go back but skip the fries and onion rings. read more

This looks like a little shack on the railroad tracks, but the food is delicious. We travel a lot and get tired of chain restaurants. Good old fashioned, "hole in the wall" goodness! Great burger! Basically an enclosed porch with an outside deck area. Billy is a friendly and gracious proprietor that really enjoys what he does. I found this place on iExit looking for anything that was not fast food and WOW - what a find! Billy made the best fried green tomatoes we've ever had! We split a WhollyCow and got the fried pickles, onion rings and fries. Everything was awesome! Excellent burgers. I will make sure to plan this into my travels along I-20 from now on. read more

Stopped here while driving through Mississippi. Decided to stop based on previous reviews. Don't let the outside of this place deter you. The place is a closed in porch. But dang if that wasn't one of the best burgers I have ever had!! Fries are the crinkle cut and just the way I like them. Staff was incredibly friendly. Be sure to leave a tip in the tip box. They definitely deserve a big one! Unfortunately we were just driving through. Unfortunate because we will probably never be back. If we lived in the area this would become a regular lunch spot. read more

This place is outstanding, the owner (Billy) was extremely polite to us when we came in. Could not ask for a more courteous reception. I had the red beans and rice, it was a generous portion with just the right amount of flavor from the start. No doctoring needed. Family all had shrimp po-boys, everyone thought they were scrumptious!! We also received a plate of crawfish with taters and sausage! Again, outstanding!!! This is a great find off the beaten path! Not far off I-20 is this cute shack... the food is awesome! Hand cut fries and a huge burger was enough to share but we also tried to crawfish pistolette! Yum!! And the owner Billy came out and talked to us.... such a personable and nice man! Even shared a fruit salad dish of the day with us for a refreshing dessert! Wholly cow burger is one of the best around but the pistolets were not so good. I've heard good things about the crawfish but haven't tried them myself. Good friendly folks. Worth the wait. read more
