The food is delicious, and the employees are SUPER kind, helpful, and nice. The owner came in while we were seated and eating and he was so very nice, and kind, too. We're from Tupelo, and we were passing through AND the food DID NOT disappoint AT ALL! Very delicious, and flavorful. Our experience here was extremely mixed, some outstanding and some not good: Excellent: Jamie's Philly cheese steak sandwich and my fried whole catfish were both top notch, hot and tasty. Sides: fries and fried okra looked good but served cold, as though they were sitting in a pan cooked long before we walked in to order. Ambiance: resembled your hoarder uncle's basement, with junked piled all around the the dining room and ordering area. Service: very average, unenthusiastic counter personnel who could not produce a metal fork upon request when my flimsy plastic one was insufficient to crack the crust of my fried fish. I ate it with my bare hands, caveman style, accordingly. Recommendation: order an entree to go, and eat it nearby, where it can be consumed fresh and hot. read more

2 stars for the pan trout, and but I give customer service a 10. I have been coming for the pan trout for the last two years and I've always ordered the pan trout , fried hard, sandwich. The portions were huge and seasoned well with a golden fried crunch. Literally, the BEST hands down! Last night, I ventured through Pearl to ease this craving brewing in the pit of my stomach and ordered my fave. When I walked inside, the aroma slapped the insides of my nostrils with such joy and I couldn't wait to dig in. The wait time was its typical 20 minutes - no problem. I dared not wait inside, because I would have ended up buying one of everything, so I went back outside and waited in my car. Ding! Time is up! I walked inside and before I made it to the counter, I was being handed my bag of smell good. The bag was kinda light for three pieces of pan trout, but I didn't sweat it. Ten minutes later, I was home and ready to eat. Upon opening the bag, my stomach started doing the happy dance, but something was off. The tail of the fish was not sticking out when I saw a thinly sliced pieces of fish that was lightly fried in flour, or very fine cornmeal, my heart sank. Where is my beloved golden fried pan trout? This was NOT it!!! It didn't even taste the same - barely seasoned and definitely not fried hard. Thankfully, I ordered hush puppies and coleslaw, but still disappointed about the fish nevertheless. When I got home I realized that I got a piece of fish that Look & taste like it's been sitting way too long. First time eating at Tony's and let me say this it will not be the last. The fish was piping hot, well seasoned, and crisp, but soft and tender in the inside. Very nice portion size and that's great coming from me because I likes to eat! The fries were crisp on the outside, but soft and delicious on the inside like a good French fry is suppose to be! Neither the fish or fries were greasy. Let's just say with a little hot sauce, ketchup, a dash of salt, and some elbow room the damage was done to this plate! Customer service was amazing. I ordered a whole catfish order fried crispy, catfish strip order crispy and a pan trout dinner. When I lived in Ms this was one of my go to spots. The food has completely changed for me. My whole catfish was not fried hard at all and soft. None of our fish had a good seasoning on it at all. It all taste like just fish fried in grease. I'm from Cali and whenever I come down to visit, I make a point of finding some good restaurants to try. The catfish was AHMAZING. I got the dinner that came with two sides. They don't have a big choice of sides. They had cole slaw, fries, hush puppies & fried okra. I got fries and hush puppies. Fries were good and hush puppies were very good. The inside of the restaurant was kind of messy not filthy messy but boxes and containers all over the front of the store. There was someone actively cleaning when I arrived so that was reassuring. I will definitely be coming back but hope they get organized and make the place more presentable. read more

The service was good; however the food was horrible! I got fish and chicken. The fish was very strong fishy smell (not fresh). The chicken was the frozen breaded chicken you can buy at Sam's Club. Out of towner here, but I asked the lady at CVS what fish restaurant I should try while in Jackson and she referred me here. I got the 3 piece catfish, with pasta salad and hush puppies. You can tell they freshly fried that fish because it was steaming when you cut into it. The seasoning they used was delicious. It was reasonably priced and worth every penny. My husband and I stopped in here Friday afternoon for some good catfish. The fish is incredible! Some of the best in the area, honestly. If I had to choose between Tony's catfish and Cock of the Walk's catfish, it would absolutely be Tony's hands down. You get three full sized fillets. Not nuggets, not thin strips, fillets. The hush puppies taste great too. It's a shame only three come with the meal, that's how good they are! All that being said, the inside of this establishment was a mess. Several large bags of garbage at the front of the restaurant, along with other miscellaneous trash, were actually blocking one of the exits. The floors were littered with debris and the tables hadn't been cleaned in lord knows how long. The restaurant has an "A" rating from the health department hanging on the wall, but seeing how filthy the dining area is has me really nervous about the cleanliness of the kitchen. If they clean the restaurant, I'll definitely be back. But, in its current state, I won't be returning. read more

I've been coming here since day 1, since they were at the old location. Every single item on the menu is great. I've ordered basically everything. All of the fish is fried to perfection and is flavorful. The Philly cheesesteak is huge and has plenty of peppers and onions. The whole chicken wings are my favorite along with the wings with sauces. I can go on and on about this place. It's a busy restaurant so I recommend calling your order in and picking it up. But you can dine in as well. read more
