This is the BEST SEAFOOD SPOT IN JACKSON!! I've been in Mississippi the past 10 years and have never tasted anything like this! I can only imagine if the owners opened up more restaurant space for dining experience, like the juicy crab or some thing! Their weight Liz in reservations would be off the chain! I ordered after the lunch crowd, around 2 PM and it took 13minutes tops. Literally all of the food items were worth ordering but I ended up getting the lobster and shrimp plate with potatoes and corn with the Mac n cheese infused with crab and shrimp (Cajun mild sauce) ! I always get the seafood plate: it comes with a cluster of crab legs, 1/2 pound of shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage with Cajun seasoning, or you can choose any of their specialty flavorings. There usually is always a line out the door like they're giving it away, but it's well- worth it. It doesn't take much longer after you place the order that the food will be out to you. After a long day of work, I really wanted a seafood feast, so I decided on The Seafood Shack. I got the crab platter and added a pound of crab legs with the spicy cajun butter sauce. I saw the Turkey necks platter, it was only $8.99 plus corn, potato, and sausage, so I jumped on that deal. I asked the lady at the register if she thought that'll be enough food for me, she said "Yes definitely!" So I stopped there, or I was going to order frog legs and a few pounds of crawfish I was hungry. The lines were long, the waiting area was full, but my food came out pretty quick, about 20mins. Not bad at all considering how many folks were waiting. Carrying out my food, it felt kind of light, so on my way home, I dropped by Crawdad Hole and got 5lbs of crawfish, yes I have fat syndrome, my eye's bigger than my stomach. When I opened the two platters from Seafood Shack, I realized that I've made a mistake buying all that crawfish, there was plenty of food! The potato wasn't those small red potatoes, no, they give you a whole giant potato! That sauce is just buttery goodness! I dipped my crawfish and Turkey necks all up in it!! I'm now ready for a nap. For the amount of money I paid and the wait time I expected my entire order to be hot and fresh (it wasn't) except the wings. I also was shorted a $1.50 but it was no biggie I was really annoyed at the fact that after waiting an hour I go inside and the food was not ready so I was given a buzzer to notify when it was, only to sit an over hour and a half with no notification, but once I went back in the food was there just sitting. Kinda killed my whole mood, because seafood hit different when it's fresh, long story short again my wings was a decent temperature my crazy cajun seafood pan was cold my okra was cold and old and my hush puppies were cold, so I'm the the microwave they went ,I also expected more since I did add things to the seafood pan. Other than that the seasoning was right, making the flavor Ohk, just wish it were fresh. This place is incredible! We tried a fish and shrimp platter as well as gator bites and a gator sausage. Onion rings and okra to die for!! Hush puppies were so delicious. Can't be beat- small, quick and not what you're expecting but just phenomenal seafood. We had to turn around and come back for more. Hubs is inside at the moment ordering up more gator. Very disappointed in my food and portions. The clusters were literally so small they barely had any meat! I waited 35 minutes for a half empty plate. The plates on the pictures are nothing like that (false advertisement) I wasn't going to worry about doing a review (so I didn't get the full plate picture) but the more I ate the more disappointed I felt so I said I'll at least advise people On the crab legs size. They have many different sauces to choose from to add onto the cooked seafood. The only I really didn't care for was the sausage, and all of the butter on top of the parts I have to peel and crack on the shrimp and crab legs. Best crab legs in town. Everyone else should be ashamed. They put something addictive in these. Usually my crab legs get cold, but not these. Warm and fresh til the last bite. The butter is perfect in taste, quantity, and stays perfectly melted somehow in the bottom of the plate. You don't even need the butter they give on the side. They give you the biggest potatoes and corn. Sausage is bite sized so you can just pop em in your mouth. Considered going to fancy seafood restaurant on our last night in Jackson but decided on this place instead. Sure glad we did! We got two beautiful boxes full of shrimp, crab, sausage, corn and potatoes for around $30! Well over a pound of crab legs!! Everything was delicious (we got the lemon pepper and original seasoning). It's all steamed fresh to order, so expect to wait or call ahead. It'd be great if they offered wet naps and maybe even sold crab crackers or cut the shells open like some restaurants. Our picnic was a bit of a challenge due to the lack of utensils, but we made it work and the food/service/value was amazing. Definitely recommend! read more

They were great in the beginning. Now they have gotten comfortable and lazy. I go every week sometimes three times a week. I keep trying to give them a chance because it's black owned. When they are ready to go home your food will be cold after waiting for over a hour. A lot of the employees laugh and talk about the guests. Like shame on you all. I don't even waste my time calling back about the food being cold because people always think you want something free. They lost a loyal customer. I've spent so much money there it is ridiculous. The shrimp is always undercooked. I don't even like shrimp anymore because of this reason. I will take my business some where else from now on. read more

I've been coming to this place a minute now and I can't lie the food is awesome. However, today I had an accident and one of my plates fell out the bag while walking out the building. I had just spent $80, $160 really because this was my second time coming this week. I thought it wouldn't be a problem with my order being remade but the manager told an employee to tell me they couldn't do it. So, I paid to have that one plate removed.
