I started eating at Frisco deli in Metro Center when I was 16 years old. Fast-forward 40 years and I rolled through the Pearl location for the same sandwich I've eaten for 40 years. The location may have changed but something that has not is the quality of food and service. I have been ordering the exact thing for years and it's as delicious today as it was in 1986 We moved away from Pearl in 2018 so I rarely get over here. I was excited to see the line was not backed out to the street since it was 1030 so I grabbed my turkey and provolone on an onion roll with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, warm. The fries were extremely fresh and hot. The sandwich was amazing. And to top it off is the service. They have always had the friendliest people who make you feel better when you leave than when you arrived. Through the years and when the kids were little, we enjoyed their chicken tenders, and I have also had the ribs. I've never had anything from there that was not delicious and fresh. It's a spot that you wouldn't notice because it's off the beaten path a little. Basic order-at-the-counter place with a relaxed vibe. Staff is nice but I did feel a little rushed to hurry up and order. But I think that's just how they roll. I noticed a lot of "regulars" came in and you can tell the difference between newbies and them. Ordered the guppy, which is the kids catfish basket. Came with 3 catfish strips and I subbed the fries for coleslaw. I saw the photos online and thought the adult catfish plate would be too much but I realized too late that the fish is cut in half. It took less than 3 minutes and I was checking out. They are efficient and granted it was lunchtime, we all thought they could have warmed up the sandwiches a bit longer. I got it home and my dad actually had to wrap the ribs in Saran Wrap and foil and cook them 2-3 hours longer because the meat was so tough on the ribs. He couldnt eat one at all so that left him with 2 ribs for 7.99 - yikes ! Very disappointed in the food here. It used to be top notch and their sandwiches are amazing still but the ribs have definitely went down hill. My dad has gotten ribs from this place for year and this was the worst he's had from there. My mom and I were craving a Reuben. This place has good reviews and a Reuben on the menu. We ordered two Reuben sandwiches and sides of potato salad. Neither of us have had this sandwich without being toasted. The meat was fresh and piled on nicely. The cheese was a little bland but the sour kraut was good and fresh. If only it was grilled or toasted it would have been tastier. The potato salad was average with a bit too much mustard for our tastes. Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
