I'm surprised this restaurant is sitting at 3.5 stars... I'm not the easiest of yelpers to please but I think it's a solid 4 stars. The food is really good. I ordered the gumbo after reading people being pleased with it and I too was pleased with this dish. Great start to the meal. My buddy and I also ordered East Bay Shrimp and really enjoyed that appetizers. I treated myself to the Grilled Hereford Filet. Cooked as I ordered and definitely worth the price. We sat at the bar, which prompted me to order a martini, extra dirty, just how I like them. Bar tender wasn't overly friendly but she was professional and efficient. The restaurant provided a very modern atmosphere, which perfectly represents the modern southern comfort food it serves. Great vibe and perfect for groups of any size.

My hope was to order room service from here while staying at the Westin just before Christmas. The hotel decorations were amazing and service was good. However, when I tried to order room service, I was told they no longer do this. I would have to come down to the restaurant, place a to go order, and then take it back up to my room. This was a bit disappointing. I had read some reviews and looked at photos and menu online prior to coming. The prices were what I'd expected for a 4 star hotel and restaurant. But, the food execution was terrible. The lady who took our order was delightful and helpful. The food was not good. The lemon ricotta pancakes were scorched. The food got cold very quickly. The sausage gravy and biscuit were not as good as Hardee's. Unless things have improved since Christmas, I would not recommend this place. I would recommend the Westin and the Soul Spa.

The ambiance was decent, and the servers were nice. However, we received cold food for dinner and completely uncooked salmon for lunch the following day. When I called to ask for a different protein they insisted that my salmon was "smoked". This was so upsetting. Eventually they allowed me to change my protein, but after the cold food for dinner the night before. I didn't need three strikes. Two was enough. Definitely not eating here again and do not recommend.

Stayed at the Westin Hotel and having this awesome restaurant just downstairs is the reason I initially booked. Everything was delicious; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Wait staff is attentive; great service. Open kitchen is nice and works. Will definitely return.

Estelle Benedict with chicken and hollandaise sauce, it normally comes with sausage gravy but I prefer hollandaise with eggs Benedict.

I celebrated my birthday here and was very pleased. I tried the Estelle Benedict that normally comes with sausage gravy but a pleasant mistake allowed me to have with hollandaise sauce which I prefer anyway with a Benedict. My wife enjoyed Lemon ricotta pancakes with crispy bacon. I also had the pimento grits which were also very tasty!

Omelette with everything stuffed inside, instead of blended in with egg. The bacon is even raw. I expect more from the Westin.

During our holiday travels, the hubs and I found ourselves in Jackson, MS having a light dinner at Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro inside The Westin Jackson and absolutely loved it! We had no idea this was a Marriott restaurant when we made our reservation on Open Table. I was initially concerned by the bottled waters being handed out to patrons (boil water advisory and such), but Jamill (our fantastic server) promptly put our minds at ease. The food and cocktails were delicious, the art/decor is on point & interesting (I had no idea Prince was arrested in Jackson once), we were quite impressed, and wouldn't hesitate to return. The gumbo, baked potato soup, flatbread, truffle fries, wedge salad-- all fantastic! Cheers!

Katie the bartender is amazing! Best gumbo ever! Wow. Ordered a cup and then a bowl. Do yourself a favor and hit this place!!

Located inside the Westin hotel downtown. Valet parking is free is parking is easy. All the food was great and filling. Great breakfast spot, they have all the classics. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was what you would expect for hotel breakfast. All in all very good.

Usually I wouldn't try a hotel brunch if I wasn't a guest, but this one was in the area I was visiting so I decided to give it a shot. The decor is beautiful and the jazz musician playing kept the vibe going and is what made me round this up to a 4 (because really it's a 3.5) vs. a 3. Bottomless mimosas for $22 wasn't a bad deal, but the waitress took her time bringing them to the table. The menu isn't long, but I truly enjoyed the potato hash casserole. The omelette station was a win also. I would definitely return.

If you ever find yourself I. The Jackson MS area you have got to let me repeat you have got to stop in here for a truly tasty burger. Be worn the prices are a bit high if you are not a custom to fine food dining. So of course I ordered the burger had to could not pass up the chance to try something new. Double patty of goodness that will make you know why it's $18 we'll worth the cost and then some.

The food at the bar is wayyyy better than the new menu they have tried to add in the restaurant part. Tried the deviled eggs and they were good but over priced. Walked to the bar area and that's where I was happy. Both waiters were Amazing though and the vibe was nice. Blackened wings were amazing !!!!

Dessert--double chocolate brownie and cheesecake....soooo good.

My delicious cocktail. Their take on a whiskey sour is incredible. Definitely get a Township Sour! The crawfish fondue was a bit grainy. Not near as smooth as it has been in the past. The hand cut fries are always top tier though. I had the house salad with grilled shrimp. The grilled shrimp were smaller than I expected. Flavor was ok. They were cooked appropriately but small. I opted to sub the dressing for their ranch. It was a good house made dressing. Mike and the other guy with us got the ribeye, Pittsburg, medium rare. Mike forgot to ask for the sauce to be on the sauce rather than covering the steak and fries. It's not that the sauce is bad but a good steak doesn't need to be covered in sauce. The downside to this is that they put the steak on top of those incredible house cut fries and between that and the sauce you end up with a soggy bed of french fries. The steak was cooked perfectly. His wife got the filet with a house salad. She said it was cooked as ordered and tasted great. Let me take a moment to say that their floors have some weird waxy feel and it's like ice skating. Our friend fell and everyone at surrounding tables commented how they had been slip sliding around. Dessert at Lou's has never disappointing. Their pecan pie is one of the best ever. The blueberry cobbler is amazing. I have never eaten a dessert there that was not phenomenal. Hannah also made me a fresh cup of decaf and it was such a good cup of coffee. Hannah was an excellent server and the host was quite friendly. We aren't fans of the booth bench seating where you feel like you're eating with the people next to you. The tables on the wall benches seem closer in this location. We will go back and try it again but I will go with my usual redfish #1 and see if it is still as incredible as it has been before.

I have never -- and I mean never -- gone to an Italian restaurant and ordered beer out of necessity. Yet here we are. It just didn't feel right. Now, credit where it's due: the garlic bread was actually really good (though I'm pretty sure it didn't grow up in that kitchen), and the limoncello cake -- confirmed not house-made -- was honestly the star of the meal. Both were delicious and we were given plenty of things to dip with. The rolls and butter are so good. Their bartender makes a delicious old fashioned and our friends wife had an Etta James. We found her to be quite "dilute" but it would have been tasty with less water. I chose my salad to be the blue cheese wedge. If you like a little lettuce with your salad dressing, you would've been very happy. See the photo for the wedge swimming in blue cheese. It was pretty much in edible. It did not have red onion as the menu described. Do I sound petty? I expect to get what the menu says and if you are out, just say so. The other three all got the garden salad, but they had to order a second dressing for theirs. We were not happy that our meals came literally minutes after the salads were delivered. I had the sirloin cooked, medium, rare with a baked potato. The butter was melted, and the sour cream was a bit curdled, which told me it had been sitting under the light for a bit. It was cooked nicely and potato was fresh. The steak was tough but that's the nature of most sirloins. This was tougher than usual though. If you're saying, well why didn't you order the filet, I rarely order a filet out because I cook a darned good one at home. Mike had the seafood pasta. I tasted it and found it to be delicious. He was very happy with the dish other than the fact that it did not have the garlic bread it was supposed to and the young lady told us they did not have any tonight. Our friend's wife had the smoked chicken. That chicken breast should be pounded out evenly. It was entire too thick on one end. At least 2 inches thick. We found it to be extremely dry but the flavor was nice. Our friend had the shrimp plate with half grilled half fried. He was very happy with the shrimp, but even though he ordered the steak fries extra crispy, they were still not to his liking. Overall, it was a great meal, we learned some things that we would not order again. We did find it disappointing that there was no one there and it was 530 on a Monday night and they did not have garlic bread The steakhouse had little quaint cubbies to sit in.
