I got the three pieces wing battered. They were fried really hard is why I gave 4 stars. Came out hot though but was just way to hard and crispy for my liking. I had the spicy garlic sauce and ranch to pair. She also suggested the duck & cream cheese wontons. Which were also good. Just only gave you 4 so to me the portion and price point didn't match. Other then then everything else was good. Jameson and ginger is my go to and it was done right. Really hard to fuck that up but everything was good. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch the games. She may have been busy with other tables, but it didn't seem like it. The baked potatoes appetizer were extremely dry and not garnished. The duck and cream cheese wontons were just okay. The black and blue cheese salad had very well done meat that was dry. The Philly Cheese steak was overcooked and dry. The highlight was the Pork Chop. Had an early dinner at Capitol Grill tonight. It was my first time there so I was a little excited to finally try them out. Our server Sharon was the best! She made some good drink recommendations for me and was very efficient in making sure we had everything we needed throughout the time we were there. Even though there were not a lot of people in there, Sharon didn't hover but gave us space to enjoy the food. Service is a 5+. Got the duck and cream cheese wontons. Been wanting to try these since last year. They were worth the wait. Really didn't need the sauce at all. Also ordered the catfish platter with onion rings. Fish was ok but those onion rings were outstanding. Homemade seasoned batter surrounding thick rings of onion then fried perfectly. Could have just had a basket of those by themselves. Food is 5. I went to Capitol Grill and decided to order a ribeye steak meal. Wanted the steak to be cooked medium well for my wife. Checked my order made sure everything was in there before I left. I didn't cut the steak to check and see how it was cooked. Took it to my wife for her lunch. She sent me pictures and was disappointed. I ended up reaching out on Facebook to the owner. Lance replied instantly and took accountability for the actions. Gave me a full refund and apology!! Also provided the next meal on him. I appreciate good service and I thank him. I will definitely return back to Capitol Grill for the hospitality!! I received my full refund for my steak plus my drinks I had. A larger sized laid back bar. I've been here several times and could not believe I've never left a review. I really like this bar. Bartenders are usually friendly and attentive. Food is really good, I would suggest getting anything besides pizzas and wings (those two tend to be bland). Great for groups and it seems like every time I go they're having a drink special! Went on a very quiet Friday night, so I expected efficient service and food that was made well. I ordered a steak, fried mushrooms and mac and cheese. Service seemed to take some time, although the place was empty. The steak was seasoned well and tender, but too far over. I like a nice medium, which is difficult to master, I guess. The mushrooms were very tasty. The mac reminded me of the boxed version, rather than a homemade casserole. It wasn't bad, however. My date ordered wings, which he devoured. We called ahead to see if the kitchen was still open, they said yes and that they would be serving food until 1 AM. And the place closed at 2 AM. We pulled up at 11:10...placed our order at like 11:20. Appetizers, drinks, and entrees. 12:30 rolls around and we still don't have our food. We did notice a couple sitting there that had been there longer than we had, they had ordered before we got there and still had not gotten their food. The waitress came to the table ONE time every TWO HOURS!!! I called ,who I think was the manager since he never introduced his self just said "My kitchen", asked about our food and he said he was going to check on it, 2 mins later our food was put down and it was COLD. The cheese on my philly cheese steak sandwich was hard. The cheese sticks were hard and the meat on my sandwich looked flavor. I snapped a picture of the marinara which was like a burnt tomato paste. The man came back and apologized and I pointed to our table neighbors and explained that they had it worse than we did. And he looked at me and said "I don't know anything about that" and walked off. Didn't even go to their table. After they waited for 3 hours, they finally left. And I was genuinely shocked when the waitress brought our ticket out and they didn't even give us a 10% discount or even remove a drink (fountain drink)...nothing was done to rectify the cold food or the wait...I understand being understaffed, but explain that to your guests before they sit down. It's in an old shopping center. That should have been my first clue. However, I heard this place was really fun for trivia nights so I thought the food might be decent. It was not. I got the queso, which was okay. It wasn't white cheese queso which is my favorite. It was also cold when I got it so I had to send it back. I also ordered the grilled shrimp with sauteed vegetables and fried green tomatoes. The shrimp were teeny! They were also disgustingly salty. The veggies were burnt. The fried green tomatoes were decent but they were extra oily... they reminded me of the Bloomin Onion at Outback Steakhouse. I think that most of the selections ate better than average, with just a few things to avoid. There is usually a crowd, and they have happy hour for the ones that want to get out early. Elevated bar food. That's what this is. It's typical bar food but really good. You'll find yourself going for the food. The drinks are really good and they often have entertainment. The entertainment is hit and miss but the food and drinks will have you staying. Sometimes there's a cover if the have entertainment but if you don't want to stay and pay just get your food to-go. The staff are funny and efficient and very friendly. You can tell this place lives their customers. If you sit at the bar don't be surprised if people buy you drinks or offer you food. Happy Hour until 7pm with most mix drinks at $3.5 and fireball shots at $3.5. Came here last Friday to pre game for date night and enjoyed a large cheese pizza with basil. For a bar, the pizza was quite good. They are doing live music on Fridays and lady's night start 8pm (free beer i think). The War Eagle was equally good, with juicy, crispy fried chicken and great flavors. The sweet potato waffle fries are worth going for by themselves. And there was a dessert special - an ice cream sandwich with cinnamon ginger ice cream between two lemon shortbread cookies. May I remind you this is a sports bar? Unbelievably good. Well balanced flavors, great presentation, unique and delicious. Service seems to be a sticking point in many reviews. We had no problems with it on a fairly busy Saturday night. Quick to get orders in, lots of check ins, friendly and helpful. We felt well taken care of and didn't have to ask for anything, all needs were anticipated.
