17 people in our group. Service was spectacular. Orders taken quickly and efficiently. Food came out fast and overall was correct. We started eating here probably 30 years ago when it was the OG. Mike always got the crawfish enchiladas and I got the habanero cream sauce pasta with grilled shrimp. He got fried shrimp tonight. The shrimp were jumbo and fried perfect. The "depot" fries are frozen crinkle cut. He subbed the Mac and cheese for the okra. It's more of a less sauce old fashioned Mac and cheese. I got my old habanero cream sauce pasta. It was served in the tiniest of bowls but the amount of food was good. Why not serve it in a normal sized dish? I would rather have the 4 jumbo shrimp they used to serve back in the day rather than the smallish medium shrimp. The sauce was thicker than I prefer but flavor was decent. I'll try something different next time. The cocktails were delicious. Again, the service and speed of things was incredible for a party of 17. My biggest negative was the music is ridiculously loud. Serving food to 17 people with that music was diabolical and we could not even visit. The group was great but the volume needs to be turned down. Very good portion, but not as "hitting" as I expected. I held off on the guac but wish the sandwich would've had more of the ranch, pickles and I could've settled for a smaller chicken patty and extra piece of bacon. Fries were good but I added street corn and wasn't impressed. It was in a bowl, not on the Cobb and just had the cheese sprinkled on top. Nice music playing that's not overly loud. There's a stage in the back corner, probably live singing at night. They service chips and salsa. The chips are seasoned and taste good. Salsa is like a mild picante brand salsa. We got the queso which was super thin and runny. Kinda like a velveeta with rotel in it. My husband got shrimp and grits which he said tasted amazing. The Ambiance is relaxed and entertaining with top notch Live Music. This place is a new go to when I am traveling in town. The service is extremely helpful and they give the best food recommendations due to such a large selection on the menu. The place has live music on the weekends. The chips and salsa were great! The seasoning on the chips are certainly addicting. Jarvis recommended that I get a chicken club and he didn't not disappoint. The chicken was juicy and had a great breading. The pickles on it were chefs kiss. Found this place while in town visiting. It's in a very cool building. The staff was very welcoming from the hostess to our waitress. Another waitress even checked on us to see if we were ok. We were told that they do live music starting on Thursdays which we missed but I wouldn't mind coming back. The complimentary tortilla chips were seasoned. I never had any like these but I couldn't stop eating them. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. I ordered lemonade and water not realizing how large the glasses were. I came for a large party birthday dinner. The private dining area was very quaint and just enough space for us to be secluded from the main dining but large enough for us to mingle and enjoy our dinner. Even with it being a large party, the food came out quick, hot and delicious. I ordered the habanero shrimp pasta with extra sauce. The servers were fun loving and organized. People arrived at different times and they were still able to keep up with the orders and food placement. The building is a repurposed industrial building. Meticulously well done renovation. Parking was not too bad. Server is kind and attentive. Free and tasty chips and salsa AS SOON as we sat down. The quality of food at this restaurant has gone down drastically over the past few years. I just ate the grilled shrimp fajitas with beans, rice, and all the fixings. Beans weren't hot. Fajita wraps were cold. The chips were not warm and hard to chew. Even the margarita was disappointingly bitter. The decor hasn't been updated since 2000. My friends got surf and turf and the pork chop dinner, both noted that their meats were pretty dry and over done. Sunday brunch is usually a hit here. Made to order omelets, waffle bar and a small breakfast buffet with grits, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. However, today, I decided to order off the menu. Ordered the sampler platter, which came with 3 soul train wings, one southwestern eggroll, fried broccoli and a bbq chicken quesadilla. The fried broccoli was delicious, as long as it's hot. Once it gets cold, it's not as good. The wings are usually good but they were a little too spicy today. The eggroll was tough, like it had been refried or something. Flavor was good but just too tough. The quesadilla would have been good if it had been hot. I started eating it last so that's no fault of the restaurant. The chips and salsa every table gets is the best! That homemade salsa is the best in Jackson. Service was good. We got here before the crowd did so we didn't have a wait for a table. Band was setting up and by the time he was ready to play, we had placed our order and could enjoy the music. Only thing I wish is they would add a patio so outside seating is available. read more

The atmosphere at this place is fun, and loud, and freeing. It's an enjoyable place to be and I suspect that this is why it seems to be consistently jumping. The menu has a lot of options; most things we ate were fine, a few were mediocre, and one was great. The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa are actually fantastic, as is the queso with ground beef. Everything else we had was just okay. We came here twice while in town. Both servers were polite and got our orders right but overall, service was clunky. For example, food served no silverware, serving a burger and fries with absolutely so condiments for either. She recommended the fajitas and a cocktail called honeysuckle blues. One of the best cocktails I've ever had in my life! It was sweet, but not too sweet and strong, but not too strong. Tonight I got the beef chimichanga which I have had probably 10 times. Definitely not the same dish I have had many times. The flour Tortilla was over fried and the cheese sauce was terrible. In the past the queso was not thick and very palletable. Tonight it was a thick glob of what seemed to be Velveeta. Probably will not order again. Our Family of 7 had a reservation and were seated promptly by the host and server. We had a wonderful Server Gina, who was kind and fast with our order.
