    1/2 Rack Ribs
    Darroll L.

While the food was delicious, flavorful, tender, and nicely presented; the star of the show is the customer service. The staff was so pleasant, welcoming, delightful, and helpful. The service alone is enough of a reason to visit this lovely establishment. We ordered the Brisket, 1/2 Rack Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Gumbo, and Fried Green Tomatoes. We both concurred that the Ribs were top tier!!!

I heard about the BBQ at Pig and Pint so had to come here! I their 3 meats and 2 sides platter and I had the brisket, ribs, and sausage as the meats. I really like the ribs, they fell apart the bone really easily. I also normally like sausage with my meats as well so that stood out to me too. For my sides, I had potato salad and mango slaw. The mango slaw was interesting to me as I don't think I've had it before. It's basically a mix of mango with Cole slaw with an asian sauce. The sauce does have a kick to it though. What stood out to me was the bread! I actually found it buttery and nicely toasted, and would have loved to have more!

1/2 rack of ribs, amazing flavor, tender, and juicy. Service was quick and very helpful. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but was a laid back feel.

Excellent bbq spot. I wanted to try a bit of everything so I got the 2 meat sampler with pulled pork and sausage, collard greens and mac n cheese. I liked that they provided two different types of bbq sauce, one traditional and the other a Carolina mustardy flavored one - both good. I really liked my sides too and the prices were fair. Great vibes inside like an old bbq restaurant should be. Gem of Jackson

    The PitMaster

We are not from MS and looking on Yelp and this place came up. We ordered the PitMaster, we got ribs, double pulled pork and smoked chicken with sides. Everything was delicious we also got white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Employees were super friendly and the place was a welcoming environment. We definitely will go back if in the area again

I should have checked my to go order before I left. Looks like someone had already dug into the pimento cheese and left a piece of cracker in it.

Pork Rinds Queso. Terrible. No seasoning or flavor. Both the rinds and the Queso. Look at the center where my wife had dipped. Yuck

I have been here enough now to say it's just ok. Honestly I'm feeling pretty gracious with three. Anyone can have an off day in BBQ. I get it. Cook and hold times vary by how busy you are, how the weather is outside can factor in, and especially which knucklehead was manning the smoker during the cook. These are all outside variables that you have to factor in when attempting to cook good smoked meats. It's not easy. I will admit. You have to have the perfect storm to be great. I've cooked enough, and eaten enough, of others good and bad BBQ to consider myself somewhat of an aficionado. This is just ok BBQ. Each visit I hope to be proven wrong but it never happens. I think they try to do too much with the menu and it dilutes would should be getting all of the focus. My food has never been particularly good. In fact, I think a lot of it is plain bad. The pork rinds have been inedible every single time. Once we had queso with them and it was almost one solid clump. Pulled pork sandwich may be the best thing I've had, I guess they got that part right. Ribs were fair but covered in a stupidly sweet sauce. Brisket has sucked every time. It's been old, dry, and I always end up with the lean side even after asking for fatty. Last time it wasn't even cut correctly and I had slices from both parts combined. Mac and cheese is gross and so are the beans. Plain and simple! Sauces are maybe the best thing they offer. The regular is way too sweet but everything else is pretty damn solid. I love the vinegar sauce!!! I'm sure I'll be back because the people I work with in Jackson (poor things) think that this is good bbq. I just smile and nod and keep chewing. '25 42-111

This was my first time at this establishment, and it didn't fail. I had the Queso and Pork Rinds, Pork Belly Corn Dogs, and Fried Bountiful Balls. Everything was great. The food was tasty, cooked well, and seasoned, and the portions were filling. The service was great, and the ambiance was friendly.

Very cool outdoor seating area. Barbq is pretty good, but I've had better at home in NC. I had the brisket sandwich with one side , potato salad Tuesday lunch was not very crowded. The staff guided me thru the menu when I said it was my first visit. Pay for beer separately around the corner from the front food counter.

Sampler platter 1/2 rack size only $40!

Great service with a cool vibe. The music was a nice touch, blues. For $40 we got the most amazingly HUGE sampler platter ever! Our platter included: a half rack of ribs (3/5 could have been left on the smoker a little longer), brisket (4/5 a lot of fat left on but the meat was so tender and juicy), smoked chicken (5/5 very moist and well seasoned) smoked sausage (4/5 juicy and seasoned), fried green (5/5 PURE AWESOMENESS) and baked beans (1/5 don't recommend, they were like an after thought). I wouldn't absolutely recommend this place!

This would have been a 5 star experience, but those smoked green beans are awful! Other than that, this place will give you everything you want from BBQ and leave you full! The staff is friendly and ready to get you a side of pickles:) Plenty of covered and tree-shade spots outdoors! Bring the family

I can't say enough good things. Awesome outdoor hang out area for the kiddos. Awesome service. Awesome food. Get the fried green tomatoes and collards! They are doing everything right here.

    Chopped "moist" brisket

Made a quick stop at The Pig & Pint in Jackson, MS during a road trip from Dallas to Atlanta because when you're in the South, BBQ is a must, right? I ordered takeout from the road, and it was ready and packed nicely when I arrived. This was actually my second visit. Last time, I tried the smoked mac and cheese and "comeback" coleslaw, which are both creative spins on the classics. Unfortunately, they had way too much going on for my taste and I couldn't eat either one (guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Mac & Cheese and coleslaw ;-). This time, I kept it simple: brisket and bread. I ordered both lean and moist chopped brisket. The lean was solid; the moist was too fatty. But mixing a little of the moist with the lean on a brioche bun made it work. Heads up if you order just meat...bread and sauce come separately, so don't forget to ask. Also, service is really nice, which I appreciate. It's not the best BBQ I've had, but it hits the spot. They've been crowded both times I've visited, and I can see why...great reviews and it's a local favorite! Cool location and plenty of seating if you're dining in. It's definitely worth trying and next time I pass through, I'll grab more pics. Also, I'm definitely sticking to the meat and bread only, LOL. Happy Eating!

Great Legos on display, a cool "game" vibe, and very friendly staff. The food was also really good. The chili cheese tots were excellent. The tots were crispy and the chili and cheese were delicious. My chicken sandwich on Texas toast was also very good. The pickles they put on this sandwich, along with the garlic mayo, really add great flavor, and the toast was buttered and perfectly toasted. The pizza was good and you can add extra pepperonis if you want, for $1. They have tons of board games and card games and even a few video games for people to play. They host gaming nights, apparently, which is cool. The service was also really good. They asked if we wanted water to go, and without asking, they brought a small to-go cup of lemons, since we had lemon with the water we had with our food. A very nice touch. While doing so I stumbled across this location and decided to give it a try. I was amused by all the nerdy decor so I decided to nerd out and have dinner while watching Star Trek. He informed me that they have various nights where they have board games, movies, and other activities. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and pretzel bites. The food came out in a timely manner and was well prepared at a great temperature. Although the coleslaw was bland, you can tell it was freshly made. The pulled pork was a good portion and flavorful while the pretzel bites were fluffy and salty just like you would want them. As to my old fashioned, it tasted good, but they didn't include the traditional cherry for the old fashioned. I enjoyed this experience and the next time I'm in town I will visit for sure.
