So we ran it back to Crooked Letter Kitchen in Flowood. This time we dined in. The service was beyond superb! Every staff member left a lasting impression on my husband and myself. They visited with us and made sure we had EVERYTHING that we needed. -Pickled Fried Curds (remade for us) - Birria Taco -Ribeye Taco -Boudin Eggrolls -Cotton Candy Lemonade Drink -Bread Pudding Yall!!!! PLEASE go try their Ribeye Taco!!!! It was so flavorful!!! My favorite component was the apple slaw that is garnished on top. It gave such a great flavor to this taco. Now I love me some Birria anything but I just didn't care for theirs. It tasted like it was lacking seasoning on it. Now the look of it was great. Exactly how I would want mine to look. It just didn't have the taste for me. The Boudin Eggrolls are simply amazing! I got my bread pudding to go. The staff swears by it, saying it is the best (and they don't even care for bread pudding at all.) The vibe in the restaurant was magical. Such a great camaraderie. The meal I am commenting on isn't my first meal from Crooked Letter Kitchen. Tonight's meal consisted of pickle cheese curds, chicken taco, and ribeye taco. As usual the pickle cheese curds were delicious. But, the tacos missed the mark. For the chicken taco, there was to be no smoked bacon and the slaw on the side which was prepared as ordered. But, there was no sauce either, just meat and shell. The ribeye taco was to have no garlic mayo which it did not. But, it had no slaw, no onions, no sauce. Once again, just the shell and meat. Saw a reel on Facebook of somebody eating at the Crooked Letter and thought the steak tacos looked good. So me and my husband went. I got the steak tacos (delicious) he got a single patty smash burger said it was good but he should have ordered a double. We split what I think was called piggy fries. It was pork and Mac n cheese on top of fries. Solid 8. Our kiddos tore up the left over fries and we took take them to try it out. Loved everything we ordered but the Cajun sip fries were hands down the winner. Me and my husband got them to share (they are honestly a whole meal) my kiddo that doesn't even like crawfish was tearing them up! Let me say the service was amazing. Bright, clean restaurant with friendly staff, quick service, and a cool menu that's interesting and fresh. Enjoyed the Philly ribeye. The seasoning was perfect, and it was loaded with 'fingers' of tender steak. The logo seared into the top of the bun is an artsy touch; however I agree with another reviewer who said it threw the taste 'off' when you bit into it. (Different than just a toasted taste- perhaps they use a special oil?) I had to go back to the counter to wait and request a fork (while my fries were getting cold :() because they are not available in the dining room.... And I needed a fork because this is a messy sandwich. Messy, but good! I would prefer smaller steak chunks, because these were challenging to bite through, and 'dragged' out of the sandwich... glad I wasn't on a first date! . I can appreciate the eye appeal of the large pieces spilling out of the bun, but each strip would've been easier to manage as 2-3 pieces. Fries were unusual and delicious. Ridged, curled 'crescent' type of cut. I wasn't aware of the credit card fee until I saw my receipt. It would be nice if they'd post that at the counter, as most businesses do; in those cases, I prefer to use cash. read more
