Eclectic place for sure. Sorta Southern Mediterranean? I dunno. Started with the baked feta. Was unique but good. For entrees we had the redfish and the Zaatar flatbread. The fish was cooked perfectly. It was excellent. The Flatbread was very odd and earthy tasting. I do not recommend it. Hard pass. Service was quick and excellent. Our server was quite knowledgeable and knew the menu well. Nothin g on the menu that we just HAVE to come back for, but will return to try a few more things. read more

Came to celebrate with my family on me, passing the bar exam and becoming an attorney and this meal truly reflected that amazing accomplishment! Our waitress, Darby, was super kind, exceptional, and efficient, and making sure that all of our needs were met. We were even stopped by the manager to check in and all which I absolutely loved. Now below is how we rated the food (which I averaged out with my family) so overall, it was absolutely wonderful! Personally, I would DEFINITELY recommend getting the Amish chicken with the potatoes because that was just absolutely finger LICKING delicious from the perfectly seasoned chicken to the delicious potatoes--it was just a perfect main course meal! Great to have another upscale option with a refreshing menu, and it's open on Sunday! Craft cocktails, pretty patio, and nice staff. But FYI the "grilled octopus" is dusted with flour, fried and mostly just potatoes. (The serving spoon was larger than the bowl.) We spent $200 for two adults & two children. read more

I have heard a lot of hype about this restaurant and I am not drinking the kool aid. While the building it self is very nice.... I find the decor very odd.... The menu seems to have an identity crisis.... It's all over the board.... Raw oysters, poke bowls, chicken Shawna appetizer, burgers. I walked in without reservations at 4:15 and was told I could sit in the bar..... I had flash backs the snobby atmosphere at Elys. I feel like the idea was to be upscale but it is half way executed.... No white table clothes and waitstaff running around in tee shirts like you'd see at Newks or McAlisters.... I've had worst meals and I've had better meals.... Now that I know where to set my expectations..... I might come back to try the expresso martini and a dozen oysters at the bar..... read more

This location has its own parking lot which is ample, however on a busy night things get a little tight. The service was great! We had a party of 6 and we sat on the outside patio. We never had to hunt for service. Anytime we looked up to ask any question, someone saw us and immediately came to offer any help. The inside of this restaurant is very beautiful great ambiance & more than enough seating. It has a lot of seating downstairs. The bar is pretty large, tons of seating upstairs and outside on the balcony and downstairs on the patio, so there's more than enough room to accommodate a lot of guests. The drinks were overpriced and not very strong, but they were tasty.. drinks sort of tasted like mock tails but they were cute but again just a bit pricey for the quality of drinks. The food was OK. The breakfast flatbread did not have much flavor on it, the caramelized onions saved the flatbread because the eggs were not seasoned and the bacon didn't add much flavor to it either, but overall, this is a really cute place to bring some friends for a nice vibe. You may need to eat before you come, but this was only the brunch menu that we ate from so maybe dinner is better and different. Great service from the greeters to the bartenders. After a mix up with reservations, using the app, Johnny made sure we were seated at a table that worked perfectly for us and our guest. In addition to securing our table Johnny checked in on us again to ensure we were comfortable at the table and enjoying the evening. This type of customer service is for me, one of the services that separates the good from the great! Keisha was our server and could not have been more pleasant or efficient. we began our evening with cocktails from their beautiful bar. From there we proceeded to appetizers and entrees. Update (11/2/25): I hate to do this, but after today's lunch, I've got to change my review from 5 stars to 2. To start, the hummus appetizer is off of the menu. WHY? :( That was our favorite! Now there is only a $19 dip trio with a small portion of hummus and two other dips that sounded very unappetizing. Who wants to spend $19 on a dip appetizer at lunch? Also, something was done differently to the Beef Shawarma (pita tacos) today and it absolutely ruined them. There was an excess of the pickled red onions, parsley, sauce, etc. that it overpowered the flavor of the meat and made them almost inedible. The onions were SO sour & strong and left a terrible flavor in your mouth. We ordered two plates of those because we loved them the last two times, but we could barely eat them this time. At $24/plate, it's hard swallow that we spent $48 on a total of 4 small soft tacos and cold fries that we didn't even enjoy. After tax & tip, it was $90 for our family of 4 for Sunday lunch. Since our favorite dish is no longer appetizing, we will not be returning. Such a shame because I really loved this place! :( read more

For example, I would love to taste the octopus more than the spice. I felt like I needed a glass of milk in between each dish to reset my palate. Service was good. Some of the tables sit close together, so food runners are noticeably a little confused about where to deliver food to. Recently went to try the new Foxtail in Madison, MS. My quick review: Atmosphere - the place is really cool with a two story and open air section between the two and has two bars. The overall feel is kind of high end casual. We don't have a lot of these types around the area so nice to have. A big negative was how loud it was. I don't know if it's poor acoustics or people were just fired up, but there is no denying it was VERY loud. Like you had to continually raise your voice to converse with dining partners. This would be a legit thought and concern in visiting again Service - our waitress was great, very attentive, helpful, and food cane out in perfect times Food - we really liked the drink menu, we got the cauliflower app and was delicious. I got a burger and fries and was pretty unimpressed, especially for the price. Also note: the menu and general items are more Mediterranean and seafood so me getting a burger is probably not the best way to judge, but regardless burger was eh, and fries were just not that good. And I asked for ranch and they said they don't carry any, I thought that was odd. Overall, it's worth trying, especially for our area. It's a hair pricey but I guess nowadays pretty much in line for an upscale restaurant. Be ready for noise though! read more

The Foxtail is an excellent (and much needed) addition to the Madison food scene. The food is delicious, the decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is always prompt. My only complaint is that is can be quite noisy when the restaurant is full... there are lots of hard surfaces so sound really travels. Other than that, 5/5 stars. read more

Foxtail of Madison - first night of soft opening. Three years in the making. What a very nice experience. Great atmosphere, very modern open layout a full bar upstairs and down. Good choice of draft beers, great selection of alcohols. The Mad Fire Margarita was superb and to my taste. Great pepper and spice. not the traditional Jalapeño. The house made sour added to the taste. We had two appetizers: baked cauliflower with baked cheese chips and a lamb beef kefta. each had a great taste not a traditional mediterranean but nice nouveau or a taste of Chicago. Enough to share with 4 people. SHRIMP Saganaki had good glove and texture. Brick Chicken was good, combination of the amish chicken had a flavorful all around taste with the garlic and potatoes. Beef Schwarma had great seasoning and awesome fresh cilantro flavor. Both deserts were excellent not too sweet tasting. zucchini chocolate and key lime pie. All portions were more than ample. They are off to a great start. We will return soon. I can only imagine the staff improving and making this experience a staple for an awesome restaurant. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was excited to try a new place. When my daughter and I arrived we were greeted with judgmental stares from two of the hostesses (black young ladies). We were unaware of the dress code so we were dressed in gym attire as we had just left from working out. I had on leggings with a button up top and my daughter had on black sweat pants and a jacket. I understand the whole dress code but to be greeted like that was very unprofessional and tacky. Our waitress was great and food was good.
