Food was really good. I enjoyed the country kitchen atmosphere and the option to write on the wall.

The cashier was very patient with me as I looked over the menu. Once I finally made a decision the wait time wasn't too long. My food was hot and fresh. The pasta was really good and it was an amble amount of crawfish all throughout and the shrimp were big and juicy and seasoned well. The catfish was really good as well. Their food was definitely worth the hype! I had to stop by and try their Henny wings, I don't know how but they were saucy, yet very crispy! I'll definitely have to have them every time I'm in the area. The only con was the doors of service. I was told 15 minutes when I ordered over the phone, but my order took more like 30-35 minutes. The establishment is not much to talk about. Small, Old, and not the best of areas. Take out only, with a drive thru for orders called in or placed on line. But if you are looking for good tasting food, read on. We got the catfish and wings with 'Henny sauce' and a smash burger. Honestly, the burger was overrated by a YouTuber. I give it a 5 out of 10. But the Catfish, Oh my! Best I've tasted in Jackson. The Wings, they ran out of and asked to substitute Chicken Tenders and I agreed. They were hands down the best I've had ANYWHERE! I'm 67 and have had plenty. They were crispy with a black pepper batter, not too hot just a little kick. Moist and cooked perfectly. And to top them off, the Henny sauce! I've never heard of it but let me tell you, that sauce is unreal! It is a slightly tangy and sweet perfect fit with the chicken. You MUST try it and thank me later. A signature sauce that will keep me coming back, Oh my God, so good. Meals come with a very good lemonade too. If you are looking for appearances, move along. My first visit I used Waitr to order from here. Food arrived hot and good. This time I picked up my food. Ordered same thing as first time....chicken henny sandwich with fries. Chicken sandwich was great but just a little overcooked. Sauced perfectly though. Fries lacked any salt or other seasoning and appeared and tasted as if they were cooked in old grease. Great concept and has potential; but it was a "fail" for me tonight. There are other items on the menu, but what captured my attention was the buildable rice, Alfredo and/or potato meal options. I ordered Alfredo, the sauce is really good. The dish is served with broccoli, which I thought was different; and a piece of garlic toast. Unfortunately, the toast was a soggy mess and not edible by the time I made it home. I added steak and shrimp to the pasta. I found the meat majorly overcooked and difficult to chew. A hard contrast to the mushy noodles. There also seemed to be entirely too much salt added. I couldn't finish my food after driving 15 minutes and paying $22. read more

FESTIVAL ALERT The Fried Chicken Festival was this weekend and so you all know ya girl had to slide through. There were so many restaurants their from WhoDats, McHardys', District Donuts and sooo much more. So I decided to stand in the longest line just to get some @Josephineskitchen from Jackson, MS. I will say these were some goood wings. I got half Jacktown sticky wings and half spicy buffalo ranch wings. I honestly like the sticky wings better just because it more tossed in sauce. And the buffalo was like a little drizzle. 8 pieces for 10$ wasn't bad. And the wings big which made it worth it. Overall I would give these wings 9/10. Do yourself a favor and call in order at least 30 minutes before cause everything is cooked to order unless you wanna wait nearly 40 minutes or longer cause there's usually a line in the drive thru and inside. The seasoning is excellent but quite salty if you have high blood pressure or need to limit your salt intake. And they were out of the crawfish cream sauce needed to make the Swamp Pasta so I ended up with the "Mariah" Special. As a result, I'd also advise to call order in as early as possible or be the first one there as they may or may not have what you initially wanted to order. read more

I finally stopped by Josephine's Kitchen and it did not disappoint. It's small and not a sit down restuarant. I suggest calling in your order as food is made to order - IT IS NOT FAST FOOD! I had the grilled shrimp, broccoli with cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. I think I finished it in under 10 minutes cause it was so freaking good. Full of flavor; seasoned well. I went for lunch and it wasn't packed. Again, call it in, it'll be ready in about 20 minutes. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other menu items. Good food and you are in for a treat if they are barbecuing ribs. I enjoy the nachos (Doritos nachos, shredded cheddar cheese, ground beef and sour cream). Burgers are good as well. Recommend. read more

Let me start by saying I live in this area and I have high hopes for all the family businesses that set up shop. I have to say however, I was somewhat disappointed. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and got a burger with onions and peppers instead. The service was courteous and the wait didn't bother me. The food taste pretty good. But the wait time is too long. I ordered food by call in, but still had to wait another 30 minutes. I went back and ordered in person and was told 25 Mins, but it took 45 mins. One worker so he Amy just needs to hire someone. I won't go back because of the wait time.
