    Vegetable Pasta
    Kelli J.

Had an awesome time here with a large group when I was in Jackson for a conference. The only thing I had to complain about was the lack of vegetarian options. There was only one thing on the menu that I could eat, but it was a pretty universally liked pasta dish, and I wasn't disappointed. I also loved my drink--I ordered the Rick James. Still have no idea what was in it, but I'm guessing it was a sort of frozen Long Island situation. The whole experience was just warm--our server was super helpful, and before we left, Johnny came out and introduced himself.

A charming and family-oriented spot with a lively atmosphere. Although I had sweet potato fries and champagne as my meal (no luck for the V-Crew), the service, socializing, and people-watching were enough. Johnny T's is a blend of a sports bar & live entertainment (held upstairs in the Ultra Renaissance Room) offering Southerner food with a modern twist. Upstairs from Johnny T's is the sultry ultra renaissance room, one of downtown Jackson's premiere entertainment and rental venues. Johnny T's and Renaissance Room offer something different to local and foreign patrons and ensure you enjoy a memorable food and entertainment experience every time. I recommend Johnny T's to anyone living in or traveling to Jackson, MS.

I forget Johnny T's Bistro & Bar serves lunch but my friend suggested it and I said ok. We both ordered the fried catfish with butter beans and Mac and cheese. I got these purely off her suggestion. I was a little miffed to only see one piece of catfish but I was so full halfway through it, I realize it was ample. It was seasoned well and was fresh out of the grease. The butter beans were hot and good and full of meat. Could have used a touch of salt and black pepper but they passed. The Mac and cheese was ok. That's a dish that's very subjective so I won't say too much about it. I love a good piece of cornbread and this muffin did not disappoint. It looked like it would be tough but turned out to be pillowy soft with a touch of sweetness. As much as I enjoyed it, I would be hesitant to try the dressing if they use that cornbread for it. I fear it may be too sweet to my liking. Service was good. It was very slow when we arrived but picked up considerably. No complaints on service. I look forward to returning for lunch one day soon.

The food is phenomenal. It's my 2nd visit to the restaurant..Their chef is to be commended because of the awesome quality of his food. Bring the titanium card as their prices are expensive for Jackson, imo. Don't allow the prices to scare you away because the food is worth every penny. They play a great selection of tunes and offer a full service bar. The fellas they have as bartender/waitstaff lack finesse. I'm sure that's b/c the tip is added in as a Service Charge..My order is always to geaux because of the lightning (dim) and the neighborhood. It's in the hood, but the food is good! LOL ..I had their collard greens, corn bread, grilled chicken breast, seasoned rice, sweet potatoes and house special: grilled shrimp, grilled salmon, sautéed spinach, rice and crawfish sauce. The house special allowed for choice of fish or meat choices.. This place is a jewel in Jackson, MS. That chef has the skill set for NOLA, Houston, NYC market, imo and I have a refined palate..Try it. Good job Jackson, MS.

This is my first dining experience in Jackson, MS and I was thoroughly impressed. First off, reservations fill up quickly for same day so try to plan a day in advance. You are warned ahead of time of a 20% gratuity for parties of 6+ or dining after 9pm (I'm guessing to pay the local artist playing that night). I didn't get to witness the live music but I know it was getting set up. There is some expensive $25 parking if you can't find anywhere to park. Felt relatively safe as a friendly Sherif set up right outside to deter any problems. Prices lean toward almost fine dining costs... be warned. Onto the food... Shrimp toast is hands down, the best thing I ate there. Didn't care for the sauce on the Seafood Beignets but they were alright. The pasta was exceptional for both the Cajun and Alfredo dishes. Pasta was cooked well and good portion sizes. Have enough for lunch the next day. Service was nice and friendly. For the record, being an Asian Canadian and walking into a bar/restaurant that is predominantly African American in sketchy looking neighbourhoods can be a little intimidating but the staff made us feel welcomed. I'm really glad I got to experience this and I hope you all vote for this review and like my photos.

The food was so very tasty. The catfish was the best I have had and the added crawfish cream to the grits was amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful. I only wish I could be there with live music playing.

The food was really flavorful! The salmon bites would've have been better with a creamy/spicy aioli sauce instead of the honey butter sauce it was paired with in my opinion. Nevertheless, there was a nice crunch to the bites. The entrees were great, hot & fresh. Our server Savvy was quick with taking our orders and making it a swift dining experience. The vibe was very chill for a R&B Sunday type of mood. We will definitely return in hopes to taste more great food and experience.

I'm already ready to go back ! Oh how can I forget our server Julian was the bomb and did his thing on the drinks too!

This place became popular since it was featured on Deion Sanders' road to Colorado special. It definitely caught our (my husband and I) attention and so we made it a point to visit the next time we were in Jackson. We're in Jackson so we made reservations for my husband and I with another couple. The atmosphere was probably the best part of the experience. Our service was okay. It was very busy so it was hard for him to pay the necessary attention to us. I ran out of water and it was never refilled during my entire visit. The cocktails....not it. My husband and I ordered the Watermelon Margarita. The menu description said top shelf tequila. In actuality they used Exotico. Definitely not top shelf. I had to order another drink specifying Patron as my tequila of choice. For my entree I ordered the House Special but with Salmon instead of Tilapia. Spinach and salmon were extremely salty. I didn't eat it. For tasting efforts we tried the seafood beignets. It's exactly what it sounds like. It's beignets cooked with seafood in it. It was good. Probably the best thing I had of the night. My husband had the wings. He truly enjoyed it. My friend had the Cajun shrimp pasta. It was too spicy for my liking but she loved it. The restroom is a single stall and when I used it, it needed attention. The parking can be a challenge unless you want to pay $25 for designated parking. For two people our bill was $194. That included a $30 Service Charge which is 20% gratuity that they automatically charge regardless of the size of your party. From what I could tell that's not stated anywhere except on the bill when it comes out. My husband and I had 2 Margaritas each and that was $60 by itself. The food and drinks were definitely not worth $194. It was barely worth $100 much less almost $200. Oh I almost forgot! We ordered the strawberry cheesecake "from Cheesecake Factory". Mind you I live in Kentucky where we actually have a Cheesecake Factory. This was not it. It was frozen cheesecake thawed out. Perhaps Cheesecake Factory indeed but was definitely frozen. Johnny T's was on our list of places to check out while in Jackson. We tried it. We can cross it off the list. But no inclination to return.

Nice spot, friendly owner and has options to party for the young and older crowd. I forgot the owners name but he gave me a tour and sent me a drink on the house. I will definitely return on my next trip to Jackson. I believe there is a cover charge when you come after 8-9pm

It was our first time in Jackson and our first time here. Great blues vibe in the downstairs restaurant and bar. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. The drinks were a little pricier than we thought they would be, but delicious and worth it! Our food was delicious too! I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the House Special. We will definitely be back next time we're visiting!

Hands down and plate emptied, the best soul food I've had outside of New Orleans. I had the Blue Plate with pork chops, greens, rice and gravy w/ lemonade. The staff was awesome. Wish I had time to stay and sip and be apart if the nightlife. Sat at Coach Primes table.

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
