Amazing gem of a place right outside Jackson. We got the crab salad, full order of Gumbo, and the American Burger. The gumbo was top notch with lots of umami and chock full of crab, crawfish, and shrimp. The burger with fried egg and bacon was great. Only downside was the yolk was not runny but the sauce and bacon hit it out of the park. The salad had fresh greens and a large lump of fresh crab. We didn't end up getting creole dip but I guess I will always wonder what it tastes like haha because the special fried rice was sooooo goood! The food was excellent. My husband had the AHA special fried rice and it was SO good-the best thing we tried. I had the tacos (shrimp, pork, and salmon-I wouldn't get the salmon next time but that's just personal preference) and they were also excellent. So fresh, and the mango and avocado w/the sauce really set them apart. We also had the hush puppies and they were unique w/a spicy twist and yummy. My son had the kids fish and he liked it. I would like to see them add fried shrimp to the kids menu-that's what he really wanted but I just couldn't pay for an adult shrimp meal for half of it to be wasted. I also LOVE the prayer wall. What a great thing to see God getting the glory and recognition that He deserves. We would definitely stop in again if in the area again in the future. read more

We got here about 11:30 on a Sunday and beat the lunch crowd. A friendly employee invited us to pick a seat and quickly got our cups for our drinks, they are self serve. The price is great for soft drinks at $1.39 each. The restaurant is very clean and the tables, chairs and decor all look new. We ordered the kids fish, kids chicken bites, special fried rice and shrimp po'boy. It took about 10 minutes to come out and the waitress was just as nice and friendly as the other employees we met. Oh my gosh! I just ate one of the best burgers I've ever had! And it's not even a hamburger place. Try their Aha sauce on your burger and fries! Addictive! Great bun. You cannot have a great hamburger without a great bun. I don't know if this was a special day or not, but they had bread pudding made with fresh bakery donuts, and it was off the chart! Of course it had vanilla ice cream. Service was fabulous, and the people eating there were friendly and engaged in conversation. What a wonderful experience and atmosphere! read more

I tried the BBQ ribs tonight (a special this month). They were the best ribs I have ever had. They were unique in that they were smoked on a grill, then fried to give them a slight crisp, and then doused with a Hawaiian BBQ sauce.
