As always, it was a delicious meal. Got crawfish, and they were, for the most part, a good size. Although it's not crawfish season, I was happy with them. The flavor was on point for the crawfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage. Service was quick and super friendly. They know they are good, yet they still care about their service and hospitality. I will keep coming back every time I visit Jackson. This place is also a BYOB kind of place.

My first time at a boil let alone eating crawfish and it was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Finding this place was easy yet difficult. The GPS will take you to some museum so be sure to turn into the right area. You just walk up to the window and order. Paper towels at your table. They give you containers and tubs with your food and an empty tub for your shells. I loved it. Very filling and no frills. Tasted great!

So if you are looking for someplace fancy this ain't it. Now if you looking for some good eatin' without the high overhead...THIS IS IT!!! I'm from Indiana...so crawfish boils are rare. This place was such a treat. Biggest regret...we forgot our beer...'cause a cold beer to wash down this good food would've been perfect. So from the outside it looks like a shack...an extended shack...but its actually a really cool, clean spot. There are two lines...one for carry out and then one for those looking to eat at the location. Most of the seating is outside...but there is a small room for indoor seating. Decor is very southern with sports and various music albums. The menu is simple with shrimp, crawfish, crab legs, several combination plate offers, and tamales (which has to be purchased by half dozen). My table ordered the pound of shrimp, half pound of shrimp and the crawfish. All of us were satisfied. The corn that we ordered (it doesn't come with corn or sausage and must be ordered seperately) was amazing and went well with our food. The seasoning was on point. This is definitely a worthwhile spot to visit while in Jackson.

Tried Crawdad Hole for the first time today. I really wanted to sit in (or out rather) and eat but nobody was really up for crawfish so I enjoyed it from the comfort of my home. I read other reviews about how it's a literal "hole" in the wall & when I pulled up, it surely is. It's more of a shack with outside seating and apparently some indoor seating (I didn't go in) but I could see a single group of people sitting out on a picnic table enjoying their food. Ordering was easy. There's a white board right when you get to the window with their menu items and prices. I got the crawfish by the pound, of course, and the 'Krabby Plate' and also 1/2 dozen tamales for my mom. The Krabby Plate comes with what looks like a half cluster of crab legs, corn, 2 potatoes & sausage. It looked like a kids meal. The crab legs weren't that good (very basic) & the corn was awful--it tasted like it was spoiled if corn can spoil. However, the only reason I'm rating it 4 stars is because the crawfish was AMAZING! I guess that's truly what they're known more for. Spice level did not disappoint, seasoned to perfection, & a pretty decent size. It was so good I ate it in one sitting, which I never really do because to me, it gets old fast lol. But each bite brought new flavor; I would go again for the crawfish! (Oh & the tamales were good too per my mother )

We were greeted shortly by our waiter Caden. Our waiter was extremely polite and very attentive. I can only speak in the items I personally tried the watermelon jalapeño margarita was a 7.5/10. There wasn't a strong watermelon flavor and there really wasn't a kick from the jalapeño. The bartender wasn't definitely not shy with the liquor but it wasn't over powering. The shrimp and crab ceviche was probably a 8/10 ( could've been a 9/10 but it had cucumbers in it). It had a tad bit too much lime juice or lime taste. The shrimp and crab dip was delicious! 9/10. Fresh chips as well. I really enjoyed the pickled red onion addition was really good. Overall Saltine has a great menu selection, warm and welcoming vibe.

That was delicious. Also got the lobster and crawfish dip ok and one can never go wrong with calamari which was also good. For dinner, I had the salmon and grits and kale. It was ok because not quite what I was expecting - I was expecting spicy and it was too sweet for me but might be my fault for not fully reading the description and being focused on the Cajun seared aspect of it. It was still good though. Nothing superb but filling and loved the crunchy kale on top. Really liked that they were open on a Monday and they were fast. At one point, too fast because one of my co- diner's dinner came too soon while still eating their salad. For dessert, we got the cinnamon roll cheesecake and shared it. I only had one bite because it was too rich for me but it was very tasty and good. Unfortunately, we didn't get the oysters which is THE item to get here but it was otherwise a good visit.

Po Boy was delivered deconstructed which was interesting. 4 large shrimp dressed with maters and lettuce, mayo missing. Would liked to have had seasoned shrimp but thats a preference. Gumbo was goodish at best. Needed a bit more rice and some Cajun seasonings. Not sure about the waitstaff here though. It came back with an even worse texture and tasted like it had been sitting too long. I've never had a problem here until now, which makes it even more disappointing. This was a waste of money, time, and gas. Very frustrating experience.

I called in my order of two bowls of steamed white rice, a half a pound of sausage, and 3 corn on the Cobb. The corn on the Cobb is currently advertised at $3.00 on the website. I informed her that the restaurant was suppose to sell at the advertised price but that I would speak to someone about it later and as soon as I said that it sounded like she slammed down the phone. I heard nothing. I ended up calling back and she answered and before I could say anything she said someone else 'would deal with me'. The young lady who took our order was helpful when we were struggling to decide. She gave us our drinks and we went to sit at the picnic tables. We weren't seated long before another lady came out with our food, offered to refill our drinks and bring us any other condiments we might want. My husband and I shared a catfish plate, a seafood platter with oysters & shrimp, and some fried pickles. We also had the coleslaw and turnip greens as sides. Everything was excellent and plentiful. We had enough leftover to feed another person. Next time I visit I want to try the fried jalapeño's, and I will probably order the catfish plate again.
