Broad Street Baking Company & Cafe (Jackson, MS) is our favorite mid-point stop on our drives between Memphis and New Orleans. Their sandwiches and soups are VERY GOOD and their deserts are EXCEPTIONAL! Angel was our Server during this visit and I APPAUALD her Engagement and Patience with my wife and her NYC cousin. They definitely put her through all her "Difficult Customer" Training.

Came for lunch with my sister. The vibe was very lively during the lunch hour, and the cashier was very patient with us. We split the pesto chicken salad on NY rye which was great! The cheesecake brownie was delicious as well.

Came to Jackson to visit some family and they recommended this place for breakfast. It's in this nice little building with other stores inside so after you're done eating there's a few places to shop at! At 10am on a Saturday it was pretty busy but it didn't take long for them to take our order. We got the Philly Cheese Omelette, French Toast, chocolate croissant, and an iced latte and vanilla mocha. The cashier was very nice and recommended us one of the danishes so we got a cheese danish as well. They also had a sample of kings cake that was very good! We really enjoyed the croissant and the danish! The croissant was very sweet and crunchy! Wasn't the warmest but we came kinda late so that was understandable. The cheese danish was also great! The icing was very good and the cheese was very creamy. The pastries both had a great flakiness and we really enjoyed them! Definitely a 5/5 for both The main dishes, the omelette and the French toast, were alright! Not our favorite, but we understand that this is a baking company first. Both dishes were probably a 4/5. Also our waiter Jade was extremely nice! Overall I really enjoyed my experience and we would definitely be back when I'm in the area! I think I would've given this a 4/5 but the customer service was so great, I felt it shouldn't be anything less than aIf you live here or even if you're just passing through I would definitely recommend!

I always enjoy my visits to Broadstreet when I'm in Jackson. The service is always wonderful and the sandwich and soup were delicious!

I came to get a cold beverage while I was out and about. I got a lemonade, slice of pie, cookie and a lemon bar to go. Everything was reasonably priced, the store was very clean. The food and the drink hit the spot.

Broad Street is a local mainstay in Jackson whose service is only rivaled by the food! The owners are super nice guys who go to bat for their city while providing great food to locals. They have a new menu for breakfast and lunch and I am tickled pink about it. While keeping several local favorites, the new menu items are exciting and I decided for this visit to give one a try! I ordered the jalapeño popper melt and I was given the choice of bread (they make all of them in house). I selected the honey whole wheat and the house cut fries as my side. The sandwich comes with macerated balsamic strawberries. It's smelled heavenly when they brought it out to me. It was grilled perfectly but it wasn't spicy as I expected. With jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese, one would expect some heat but I got none. I did like the macerated strawberries but can only imagine how great it would have been if that sweetness was used to balance out the heat I was looking for. But I'm a trooper and left a review and the owner replied he thought the same thing and they plan to revamp the sandwich to ensure it has the heat the name promises. And this level of customer service is why I like to support local and will continue to support Broad Street!

So disappointed in the highly recommended Broad Street King Cake. It was a 3/10. The pastry seems to be made with a form of puff pastry/croissant type of dough which is fine, but we had LAYERS UNDERCOOKED. The doughy layers were easily seen and oddly not even throughout the cake? You can see some of the dense wet dough in the slice photo. This created a very dense and chewy experience. Cinnamon flavor was very subtle/lacking. The icing, sugar, and cream cheese tasted good but serving undercooked pastry is really tanking the score. It was still edible and overall an OKAY cake, but for a whopping $37 price point (the most expensive of local king cakes) I can't recommend their cakes off my experience. Service was on par for a McAllisters style business and the inside was clean.

Felt like some dessert and happened upon this bakery. Bought a slice, some cookies and donuts. Ate 2 out of the 3 that was supposed to be saved for tomorrow... I begged them not to leave me alone with the treats in the back seat... friendly service, there's also 50% discount on breads and morning pastries after 6pm if you want a deal. The desserts were excellent and not too heavy. Glad I came in to sample the goods made in house. Loved it!

Make sure to look for the Char restaurant as a reference. The bagel bakery is housed with other shopping, restaurants and businesses. I parked near Whole Foods which is the back part of the shopping center. Ambiance: 3 Stars As you walk in the bakery, the decor is modern with various paintings and artworks. There is plenty of tables, chairs and 3 large booths. At full capacity, the noise level will increase. The display of the bagel section is great however, it is hard to read the menu board due to the narrow ordering area. There are menus available if you can't read the menu display. Service:3 stars You are greeted by the staff and the ordering starts at the deli section. The ordering process is somewhat chaotic. It wasn't busy, but it seems the staff helping at the counter were scrambling more than they should have. They were pleasant and professional but somewhat slow when ordering a few items. Everything is freshly prepared and you are eating in line to pickup your order. This delays the line to move. Food: 3.5 Stars The freshness of the bagels, the various salads (chicken, tuna, or veggies) and condiments were crispy, moist and or succulent. I ordered the Egg, Meat and Cheese on an Everything Bagel 3.5 Stars. The patty sausage, cheese and egg were ok. The bagel was the STAR of the show. Slightly salty to balance the various seeds and onion. It was light, crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. I added a few dashes of Louisiana Hot Sauce to enhance the flavor of the sandwich. Because of the freshness and the taste of the Everything bagel, I ordered the Baker's Dozen to bring home. I will update the review with comments from the family on the various bagels I bought Enjoy!

Because she was too busy yapping to the waitress who wasn't waiting on people. It was after 1 PM on a Sunday afternoon in late April 2025. I was hungry and didn't want to find anything that was open on a Sunday. It was best that picking up something fresh here seem to be the only course of action without having to traverse all over town for a bite to eat. There was two tables that were placed outside the hallway where the Nissan cafe was. The experience here was very quick casual. I probably took about 10 minutes from looking at the menu above the counter and decide to have some New Orleans cooking. The jambalaya featured that day was really good and delicious. I also had the brisket wrap, which was also delicious and a compliment to the jambalaya. I ended up ordering from the counter and paid for my meal, like a general fast food encounter would be. I told them I'll be outside at the tables. After 15 minutes, they brought it out to me, and I went to town with it. For the most part, though, I was thankful that this place was here and also was open on a Sunday afternoon too. It's for everybody and anyone who is here visiting the museums and wanted a bite to eat or have a have a drink while exploring the magnificent exhibits that these two museums have to offer. The Nissan cafe is a small little café that serves up delicious food for everyone who wants. The menu was simple and very limited though. Just a choice of a few items that you could order and it would be the highlight of your day here in Jackson, Mississippi. The overall experience here at the Nissan Cafe by Nick Wallace was good and definitely worth coming here especially when you don't need to be anywhere else but a museum in Jackson on a weekend. The service here was good, fast, and casual. While the simple set up was just that, it was definitely nice to have Cajun Creole food at your fingertips without having to scour the sea looking for it. If future travels permit me to do so, I will come back and try out more of what I missed the first time. The prices is here are not bad, plus you're supporting a small business inside a public museum. It's all good. I don't mind spending extra for a good meal that's benefiting the cafe as well as the museum. It was nice to dine here and I hope to come back here soon. As far as staff goes, you have to clean up after you are done, but they bring you your food after you purchase it. There is no servers, just a simple cafe that brings you genuine Cajun / creole cuisine here in Jackson, Mississippi. Aspect is to come here to enjoy the two museums here and have lunch. That is the best combination you could have on a weekend afternoon. Dress casually during the summer and dress warmly in the winter. The Nissan Cafe by Mike Wallace is located inside the dual museums - Mississippi Civil Rights & Museum of Mississippi History. It's physically located at 222 North Street in beautiful Jackson, Mississippi. The museums charge admission fees daily but also have days where admission is free. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, you might want to see if there is private parking for the museums first. I happen to use uber for my travel needs. And as needed, you can find street parking where you can find it. If you prefer Jackson's public transportation, consider the routes that's right for you and get here for the day. Explore the museums at your leisure and have lunch at the Nissan Cafe by Mike Wallace while you are here. And as always, uber and Lyft are always at your disposal whenever you need it. The only regret that I didn't do was grabbing dinner just before leaving the area here. That way I had something for that evening. Oh well. If you visit the museum, you should consider dining here and having a bite to eat. Definitely a good place for y'all while supporting the museum and the cafe. Recommended if you are in the area and love Cajun and creole cuisine like me. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
