E.A.T.S. Breakfast
Missy A.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and will be back! Only had about a 20 minute wait when we arrived at 11 AM on Sunday. Our server, Josh, was very kind and attentive. We got the "E.A.T.S. Breakfast", "Sunrise Sandwich", and "The Diner Salad" with fried chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh! The owner, Ashley, even came to our table to speak. She is the best! We can't wait to come back. :)

Biscuits and gravy

Came here for quick breakfast before the Super Bowl. Line was out the door so we sat at the bar. Customer service did not lack sitting at the bar. I had the biscuits and gravy the breakfast sando and mimosa. Every thing I got was hella good and would get again. Ambiance gave that home feeling. Very clean and everyone was attentive and nice. Would def be back when I'm in town. I would highly recommend EATS diner.

Blue plate special

I am really not one to leave bad reviews... I feel like I'm pretty honest when it comes to food at restaurants, but this was by far one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. First of all, there was no gravy on the mashed potatoes. I had to ask for it. Then, the mashed potatoes were lumpy, which I understand because they're mashed not creamed, but the potatoes that were in there, were basically raw. They were inedible the food was not hot. It had no flavor. The chicken breast, which was the blue plate special today was basically a chicken tender. Very disappointing.

I am so glad we came across this cute little diner while in Jackson! They have a good and open space and they even have homemade ice cream! YUMMY. For breakfast, I ordered the Big Breakfast. It comes with two eggs, choice of hash browns or grits, toast or biscuit, and choice of two meats (bacon, sausage patty, smoked sausage link or breakfast ham). Everything was so good. It tasted like a home cooked meal. It was seasoned to perfection. Before leaving, I had a single scoop of birthday cake ice cream and it was really good. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth stopping in. We also had the Benyay's! They were super light and fluffy with just enough powdered sugar. Great spot!

When I came here from my last visit a couple years ago, I was expecting it to be very good. I like to be supportive of small businesses. The salad, okra, and beignets were good. I was under the impression I was getting the blue plate special price at supper for $12, which was entree and two sides. After eating my lasagna that was cold in the middle, I was trying to be positive. But, when I received my check for over $30, I knew something wasn't right. The two waitresses decided to inform me after the fact the blue plate was only for lunch. I would not think I would have to read in between the lines on a menu. Friendly atmosphere, but make sure you ask questions and read carefully or you will be deceived when receiving the check. It was sad they didn't even offer to compensate just a little bit or any adjustment or have a manager come talk to me. I paid in cash to get the cheaper price, since this meal was outside of my budget range I had in mind tonight. For current economic conditions, not for people barely making ends meet. But, the waitress was very sweet that is still learning and tipped her a dollar, since I know what it is like to work in the customer service industry. 01/08/2025

Pancakes with bacon and one scrambled egg

Had to come to Ridgeland for some errands and remembered a post about EATS Diner a friend made last year. Let me start with service. Everyone working as servers/hostesses is young and these are some of the hardest working young people I've seen in a restaurant setting in a while. My drink order was taken as soon as I was seated and my food order taken once I put the menu down. Food came out hot off the grill and I was checked on for refills at a good pace. I ordered the two pancakes breakfast with bacon and added one scrambled eggs. One reason I like to eat local for breakfast is you get real eggs and not powdered or liquid eggs. The pancakes were very fluffy and the bacon was the thick-cut variety. Everything, including my coffee was really, really good. I saw a couple of plates from other patrons and the omelettes look good too.

Blue Plate Special. Fried chicken. The chicken was god but the sides didn't have ANY seasoning
Janice S.

It was "ok". Not really a place that I would seek out or recommend. It's definitely "diner food". Okay but, not anything special. I will say that it was not busy and we were on our lunch break so, that was a plus. ‍ I also didn't really care for the way their recipes work. One thing was printed and another was computed at the register. It's odd for sure!

My husband and I had a great dining experience here. We were driving through on a weekday morning and stopped in. The hostess was friendly, we got seated right away, and table service was also expedient. Despite managing 4 other tables, she was able get us everything we needed for a complete and satisfying breakfast. We enjoyed the food and drinks. Without a doubt, if we lived in the area, we would return to try other items on the menu. Unfortunately, I don't know the server's name but she was VERY good and attentive (had a 1974 tattoo on her arm).

Biscuits and gravy with a hashbrown bowel. So good!

The waitress misunderstood and brought out three complete plates. These are not cheap items, so it was a significant mix-up on their end. When I politely pointed out the error and asked if they could adjust the bill by removing the extra orders, the operational manager was brought over. Instead of trying to make it right, he knelt down to speak to me in a very condescending tone, explained restaurant policy, and only offered a 25% discount. He refused to compromise or remove any of the mistaken items, even though the kitchen error created the waste. I felt like I was being talked down to and treated like a child, which led me to ask if this was how they handled similar situations with adults. He immediately accused me of being insulting and emphasized his position. At that point, I chose not to escalate further to avoid causing a scene. I paid the bill (thankfully a friend helped cover it), but the whole interaction left a bad taste. The food itself looked fine from what I saw, but the combination of the order mistake and the dismissive, ego-driven response from management made the visit really frustrating. It felt like they were more interested in protecting policy than taking care of a customer after their own error. I understand mistakes happen in busy restaurants, and not everything can be fully comped once plated. However, a more empathetic and professional approach from the manager would have gone a long way. I'll think twice before returning.

This review is strictly based on my Shrimp Po-Boy which had the worst fried shrimp I've ever experienced. It was cooked beyond belief and felt like chewing rubber. Breading was probably tasty had the order been properly cooked but could not tell. I had my wife taste a piece, she confirmed my opinion. Bread was buttered and grilled but did not have the feel of a real po-boy bun as if it were on the old side which is strange as the place is a bakery. I don't know what dressing was used, tasted like plain mayo. This is a strong do-not-ever-order recommendation. Fries were good, probably cut fresh. If I ate in, the order would be sent back to the kitchen. My replacement would likely have been better but QC on the takeout was lacking. I understand it's a popular spot in Jackson and was certainly full when I picked up the order. My meal, sadly, was quite forgettable. Other meals that were part of the order seemed OK but, in my eyes, uninspired.

The restaurant has a formal setting, but with a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. We started with some drinks and a wedge salad. Portions are large but they don't skimp on quality. After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
