Due to an early morning appointment in Pearl, I took the suggestion to try A'HA Donuts for breakfast. At 7:15 this place was packed! Including the drive thru, so I knew I would be pleased with the visit. Ordered the full breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit. The food tasted really good and the bacon was the thick cut variety. I wish it had been cooked just a little bit more but it was still good. The food was a little lukewarm but I figured that was because they were so busy at the counter and couldn't bring it out right away. As I was leaving I decided to get a donut just to try them out. That was a really great donut! I've noticed that a lot of the new bakeries popping up have weird tasting Donuts these days but not A'HA. Their donuts are light and airy and not weighted down with vanilla flavoring. One unique thing I noticed in the dining room was the prayer wall. As soon as I saw it, I knew the owners were special. We were in town for a wedding near Jackson, Mississippi. Looked up this local donut and breakfast shop which was a hidden gem. We ordered the full breakfast that came with 2 eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, biscuit or toast, hash brown or grits and a beverage. My brother had the meat and veggie omelette. Tons of food at a very reasonable price. The full breakfast was 7.99 and the omelette was around the same price. Loved the dining area. The owners had a prayer wall that had post it notes available for customers to write down their requests or place them in a prayer box or on the wall. That was so cool. The decor was very pleasing and nice. The owners were very welcoming and cordial. The customer service was excellent. The donut shop had a steady influx of customers. That is a total blessing. Good solid breakfast. I had a bacon omelette. It was quite large and they did not skimp on ingredients. The bacon, egg and cheese croissant was good as well. The croissant itself was light and buttery and delicious. Overall the strength of Aha is the pastries. Ordered an Apple fritter and it was warm, sweet and wonderful. While taking my food pics, a young man walked in (probably early 20's). He wanted to speak to the owner, and usually it's rarely anything good. The owner was gone for the day, so he told the cashier that several weeks ago he had lost his job, he came in to order a burger, he didn't get fries because he was low on money. When he got home, he noticed that the owner had discounted his burger, and gave him fries. That kind gesture made him almost cry, and he was grateful for what the owner had did for him that day, so today he came back as a repeated customer. I love this place. The fried rice with seafood (and chicken, if you choose) is excellent. I also tried the fried shrimp and fried chicken tenders, and they were fresh and tasty. This place does breakfast and lunch so well. The ham and cheese croissant was well worth it. It's difficult to get fried rice and glazed doughnuts as perfect as this place, but they pull it off easily. I was visiting the area and went there twice. I would have visited more, but their hours are somewhat unique. The service is top-notch as well. If you try A'HA, you won't be disappointed. read more

The woman who works the counter, not sure if she's the owner but she is very pleasant, customer service on 10 and the donuts and the croissants bussin, the only issue I ran into here was when I asked for a strawberry donut it was a glazed donut dipped in strawberry icing and you can tell the donut was fresh and hot while it was dipped because the icing looked like pink clay melting I didn't eat it my husband did eat one but it was too sweet like thought it would be. Due to to it already having glaze icing on it. Other than that anytime we're in MS we will be sure to visit. The 2nd place I don't mind spending money and leaving a tip due to customer service alone. We were leaving downtown Jackson and looking for a breakfast on a Sunday morning. And we found this small local shop listed. It's in a strip mall but has 2 spaces so one where the counter is and another that has tables and chairs. The donuts were tasty and we each got a plate breakfast of which the biscuit was the star. My friend liked her sausage patty too. Kolaches were sold out to someone a couple of folks ahead of us. Service was quick and the place was clean. I could have lived without the giant TV in the dining area but I know I'm in the minority on that one. Overall a solid 3.5 but I'll round up since I'm only the 3rd review. read more

As you walk in to A'HA Donuts you think you are walking into every other donut shop, but A'HA has more to offer. My first trip to A'HA was for a late Saturday breakfast, everything was still fresh and enjoyable, I would recommend the maple bacon or strawberry donuts. For my next visits I have to say it's the more that brings me back. When you walk in the have a hand drawn menu to the left that tells you about all the other items they serve. So far I would say nothing will disappoint if you give it a try. The surf and turf burger is delicious with large shrimp on a nice size burger patty a special sauce that kicks it in to high gear, with a side of hot crunchy fries. Next you can try the Philly cheese steak, or fried shrimp hoagies, or go for the fried rice plate with chicken, shrimp or loaded with blue crab and crawfish, they will all have you cleaning your plate and wanting more. You will be going for the food not for the dining room experience, you will have plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal unless you decide to get it to go or use the drive thru.
