I had breakfast here last Friday on a rainy morning ordering the breakfast bowl. It consisted of an egg, bacon, cheese and grits along with a biscuit on the side for about $5. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. I enjoyed this bowl of goodness. It was just the right amount of food that I was looking for. You can never go wrong with those ingredients. The homemade biscuit was the icing on the cake as it was very good too. There is only one cook so if he gets backed up with orders the delivery might be a little slow but it's worth it. A true mom and pops place, if you don't like chains. Atmosphere: This place is sparse of any kind of decor. Just 5 tables, a couch in front of a TV, a few small plants, and a large menu board. It's mostly clean. The layout for efficiency is not quite there. There is a small, self-serve coffee and fountain drink station that is serviceable. If you are staying here to eat, make sure you grab your silverware at the coffee station. Service: Super friendly, but also quite slow. There are three people working, but two are doing the manual, and the third one tends to the dining area. The variety of donuts is very limited. We stayed for breakfast, the food was very slow to come out, but that was probably because of the one guy working the grill/skillet top, as well as all of the prep work for meals. The register always had traffic for the donuts, usually a good sign for a good place to eat. The menu has a huge variety of options for such a small donut shop, just don't expect anything gourmet. Food: Donut variety is pretty limited, but fresh. The glaze is light, so not too sweet. Yum. Our breakfast portions were large, but a little bland (which I prefer so I can control my own salt). A meal can be ruined by overall salted food. One of our party had ordered French toast, but no syrup was available. No worries, jam was good with it too. I don't know if I'll be back any time soon when I am in town, but it's a nice option to have if I'm staying in the Brandon area again. read more
