There is no better option on those early mornings when you're headed to work before 6. This Shipley's location always has free hot glazed donuts if you get there between 5:30-6. My glaze hadn't even set yet! The middle age gentleman who works the drive thru most early mornings is always welcoming and friendly. A solid stop for donuts in the morning. read more

I love this place. The staff are friendly and the donuts are fresh. Today I ordered a glaze donut and strawberry filled donut. I'm only in town for a few days to visit family and this is always a must stop. I contemplated ordering at least half a dozen but I decided it was next to show some restraint today. I was barely out of the parking lot before the glazed donut was gone. It just about melted in my mouth. These donuts are the real deal. They are light and will satisfy your sweet tooth. All I needed was a cup of black coffee. I never got to the filled donut because my older sister swiped it from me. (Lucky I love her) but from her silence while eating, I think she liked it. Glad that they have a Shipley' donut on this side of town now. I'm not huge on sweets so I usually get their kolaches and occasionally but very rarely get donuts. Their kolaches is better than most of the places I've had around here. Their dozen glazed are about $7.50 - $8. Anything other than that, it's considered a specialty donut and will cost you double the price and more for a dozen. Kind of a ridiculous price for donuts. I'm not going to pay $20 for a dozen donuts, never have in my life and never will. read more

First off, I have a disclaimer, this is not the location I went to. So anything written below is not a reflection of this particular store. My family would love to load up in the mornin' and drive to Shipley Donuts back in the day (80's and early 90's) It was close to Parm Bridges public park as best as I can remember. The smell when you walked into the store was the most refreshing smell of flour and yeast. It always put a big smile on my face. Anyway, we would always get a dozen and bring them back to the house to have for a later date and time. Going home it was difficult not sample one or two in the car, but we did. Shipley's is my favorite donut place around and I was super excited when they opened up near me. Their donuts aren't ultra sweet where if you bite into one, you won't get instant diabetes. The dough isn't too light where you can flatten it super small and it's all sugar. The eclairs are AMAZING and so are the donuts with chocolate, strawberry, etc. They don't glaze the whole donut then dip the top but only the top's dipped which is the perfect amount of sweetness to compliment the doughnut. They make delicious donuts. Personally, I love their blueberry, the chocolate covered, and their apple fritter but they are all good. Especially the cake donuts. I wouldn't say it's my favorite place for donuts in town, but they are definitely higher on the list. I would recommend this place for a breakfast snack. read more

In my quest to find a good cake donut I finally decided to go to Shipley's. Have been to locations in other states and found them to be pretty good. However, today I was very disappointed. First the selection of cake donuts was limited to 4 varieties - okay, I'm in Mississippi where cake donuts are not exactly popular, so this is not a huge complaint. Second, the quality of the donuts is a problem. They were overcooked, pretty dark brown, and all I could taste was grease on the plain cake or the icing and grease on the chocolate iced. I could see where the grease had soaked about 1/4 of the way into the donut all the way around. Not what a good cake donut should be. Also got a dozen donut holes - glazed raised dough - were average to below average in the taste and consistency scale. read more

This was my first time at this location. It was clean and well stocked with donuts....What else could one ask for.

Not big on the donuts with the exception of the regular cake ones. However, the beignets are amazing! They make them when you place your order, so they are always hot and topped with the "just right" amount of powdered sugar. Is it New Orleans good? Close, but not quite. But very close. Guys. I went during their last hour of business and everything's half off. It's amazing. I got 3 donuts for 1.50 and I don't regret them. Best donuts ever and very affordable. Love it!
