Shipley's Donuts provide great donuts with great prices! Great customer service and not a long wait. The staff are very nice. I look forward to trying more variety of different donuts and menu items they have to offer, especially the beignets. Gives a different option besides just Krispy Kreme. First I don't eat donuts or sweets, they might be great here. I stopped in here today for breakfast kolaches and was severely disappointed. This isn't even real meat. Got there just in time for the plain donuts to come out hot. Baby, let me tell you, this thing was melt in your mouth. While I typically follow a gluten free diet, I always stop at Shipley's when I'm in MS (bloating be damned!) I ordered a six pack and one Apple fritter, as you can see from the picture, one plain donut didn't make it back home. Lol. My faves are the plain, sugar, and apple fritter. I'm in search of some really yummy doughnuts now that I'm living here in Jackson, Ms. I did a google search and it took me to a place called Pillow but while I was in the furniture store the manager suggested Shipley's so I decided to try them first. I got an Apple fritter, it left me wanting an Apple fritter because that one didn't do it for me! It wasn't bad just not what I'm used to. I like a crunchy on the outside and fluffy chewy on the inside kind of pastry. Well this one ain't it. I also got a 1/2 dozen, I got maple frosted (it ain't maple'n), there's not enough maple flavor for me. I got strawberry frosted, chocolate frosted and 3 glazed doughnuts. There's something more than just flavor missing in all of them. I feel like I need to toss them and hop in the car and try another spot but I'm not in the mood for another let down in one day. It's safe to say I won't be visiting Shipley's again. I won't say it's this location, I can sense this is how it's going to be no matter the location because it's the recipe. It could be because I let a guy send me there, some guys don't get it. All donuts are NOT created equal. They're too heavy and not airy and fluffy enough for my liking. They make delicious donuts. Personally, I love their blueberry, the chocolate covered, and their apple fritter but they are all good. Especially the cake donuts. I wouldn't say it's my favorite place for donuts in town, but they are definitely higher on the list. I would recommend this place for a breakfast snack. read more

I went to the shop in Flowood and was going to buy two dozen donuts. They were cold like they had been taken out of a refrigerator. Room temperature donuts, I can deal with, but cold ones, no. For the price of a dozen donuts now, you'd think they would not be cold. The lady there said that's the way they were sold. I guess you have to go right when they open to get unrefrigerated donuts. I was raised in Vicksburg, Ms. and we were regulars at Shipleys for a long time. After moving, I found the shop in Clinton. They were always good. I was extremely disappointed in this shop. I purchased a dozen assorted donuts this morning. I noticed the filled ones were not as large as you would expect. I found out why when I tried two different filled ones. They are raw and gummy in the middle. A total waste of my money. These raw donuts could very well make someone sick. I had eaten a half of one when I noticed how gummy it was so hopefully I won't be sick. I cannot recommend this place. read more
