This place came in clutch big time after a horrible dinner at the Manship, Wood Fire Poo place. I wrote them a single star review on that place last night that went straight to "Violates terms" spot on the page. Figures... I probably said something not very nice.... I can't see it, so I don't remember. Anyway... Rolled through the drive through late after a long day, and as I mentioned, a botched dinner attempt. All of the S&S around me at home have closed up and disappeared. I forgot how good a greasy steak burger is. I love the crunchy edges and the gooey American cheese melted in the patties. I freaking love the thin cut fries too! The only thing that would make it better is if it were actually hot when I got it. I didn't care though.... It was glorious! Train Wreck. Owner (franchisee) should be embarrassed and run out of the system. If it's corporate it explains the demise of steak and shake. It was a complete disaster zone. Men's restroom urinal broken, no soap dispenser, paper towels just sitting out because the dispenser is broke. Toilet paper on floor because the roll holder is broke. The water worked so they must have paid that bill for now.... Condiment section wrecked, cups out of stock but they were kind enough to leave a sleeve out to help do their job. Let me be clear I don't blame the employees. This restaurant is understaffed intentionally. The food was hot and good and reasonably priced but they (ownership) 110% percent deserve this review. Way too much business in this area to excuse this level of mismanagement. I feel sorry for the locals they deserve better and the employees deserve better. Now I know why my steak and shake closed. If they are offering this one up for $50k franchisee fee partnership deal that they were selling this should be an atm if you can clean up the damage that has been done. read more

The family and I were on a long road trip and saw this Steak and Shake. My family had not tried a burger from here before so I convinced them to try it. We went in and they had self orders kiosks that we used to order our food. It was simple, fast and I was able to detail things exactly like my family wanted. The location was clean and looked brand new. I am a fan of Steak and Shake... always have been. This location was even better though. While I was waiting the cook noticed I was standing there for a bit and checked on me... then checked on my order... and then made sure everything was getting put together right. I mean I really only had been there for a small bit and we did order a lot but the cook took the time to be sure we were being taken care of! The burgers were fresh off the grill made just how we asked. They were juicy and tasty to the max! The fries might just be the best fries ever! Large portions of thin cut crispy fries, fried to a golden brown, and lightly seasoned to perfection! My boys got shakes and honestly they were thick and creamy like no fast food Shake I've ever gotten. My family are now all huge fans and we can't wait to hit up this location on the way back home! read more

My family and I had a very long travel day. Flying in from the west coast and not having eaten since morning we were hungry and decided to stop at this Steak n Shake on our way to our final destination. Unfortunately we never ate food. When we got to the drive thru the young lady working the headset informed us that they were about to close. It was a few minutes until 9pm. She was talking to someone else in the background confirming our car would be the last order. We thanked her and proceeded to order. After ordering fries and drinks based on who wanted what in our car we were on our final items to include in this order. Another fry and a sprite. We were met with a very rude attitude by this young lady as she responded "Oh my god, do you want change anything else". We had never changed anything in our order but had added as you do when you goto a drive through to order food as a paying customer. We completed the order and then drove around to the window. We waited a while as we watched the staff walk around inside doing their various things. We noticed the utensil that is used to pick up fries was laying on top of the trash can. Now I have worked in the food industry and this is a HUGE health hazard. This absolutely added to our decision to not patronize this establishment in the end. The customer service was just plain nasty and clearly the food handling in the kitchen is also nasty. Our money is good and we'll use it to pay for quality service and much better food handling standard. I know we all have our off days but to treat other humans with this level of disrespect for ordering food at your job is out of line. Shame on you all. read more

I leave 1 star because I have to. I have NEVER been more infuriated because of a fast food place! I placed an order via the app. Went to the restaurant. Waited in drive thru line for 45min. I couldn't cancel the order. I get to the speaker and they say I need to come in to pick up the food. I went in and no one was helping anyone. FINALLY, one person asked what I was waiting on. I told her my name. She walked away to check on it, I guess. THEN after another 10min., another little chick asked what my name was. She literally walked around the corner and brought my order to me. It had been sitting there the whole time!!!!! . Whoever runs this hole should be ashamed at the way it is being run! This location is great. Friendly people working there and ready to help you! I love the option of ordering at the screen- it helps take the anxiety out of ordering because there's no rush to make add-ins and changes. The garlic steak burger is divine! The food was really good! I will definitely be back! The BIG issue for me is that I came here for a burger (steak) and a shake (shake). I figured, eat my lunch, order a shake, carry it back to work. Nope, I tried to order my shake when I was about half done with my burger and was told it would be about a half hour wait. How are you going to be a shake shop and make someone wait that long? Me & mom finally went by to get us some of their food to try for the first time since we needed something to eat. There was not one car in drive thru which was strange since it's usually wrapped around building. The red-headed girl was very outgoing & playful, she acted like she was going to drop everything before handing it to me, she purposefully would name my items wrong-- this was funny the first couple of times, BUT THEN IT GOT ON MY NERVES! The FOOD was HORRIBLE, the meat was dry & overcooked & burger just had meat on one & mine had a pickle SKIN folded on it for pickle!! Maybe if they stopped playing so much, and paid more attention to the food it would be better!! This is NOT where people come for dinner & a show, we just want our food to at least be EDIBLE!!! This Steak 'n Shake has never been great but it did so much better today than I expected. We ordered at a kiosk when we walked in, which was new and concerned me. It only took 20 minutes to get our food, which is really good for SNS. The few employees who were there were nice and we were able to get our own refills, always a plus. The food was as good as ever. My and my family decided to dine in before the movie and it was honestly a big mistake! We all ordered our milkshakes first and then our food. We waited for around 30 minutes and then got our food. The food was exceptional but not great. And we were missing 2 of our meals that were on our tickets. No one got their milkshakes so when we got our checks we had them remove the milkshakes and refund the 2 meals we didn't receive. I understand that staffing issues are currently an issue but they were serving people before us. It was ridiculous. If your in pearl and you are looking for a good place to go eat I would not recommend this restaurant. Spend your hard earned money somewhere that's worth it. read more

Steak 'n Shake in Pearl, MS is THE best location I have been to in my life. I've eaten at this chain all across the United Stated and this particular restaurant is by far my favorite. The staff is wonderful, the food is excellent and the store is always clean each time I visit. Sam, Cheyenne and Joseph are the best employees I have had the pleasure of dining with. The sweet tea is delicious and the shakes are always reliably top-of-the-line. I enjoy Steak & Shake but, this store has its problems. It is much smaller than most other locations I've ever visited and, its parking lot is sometimes overwhelmed. The food is what it is- a decent burger but, I'd never call it a steak. There are absolutely great shakes. Their fries could use improvement but the onion rings are a solid B+. I've not had the problems with service others have indicated. I have found the service to be a B to an A-. They tend to get overwhelmed at peak hours so, they must be doing something right. read more

Good as the burgers and shakes always are, I waited an entire hour to be seated. In their defense, it was 1:00 and they were awfully busy. I instead chose to place a carry out order, which was perfectly fine. We were excited to try it out with our family after going to a movie down the street - what a disappointment. The floor was slippery, the service was not attentive, the bottom bun on my burger was soggy and cold like it had been dipped in ice water, my wife's food was cold. After the meal we ordered 4 kids shakes to go and it took 25 minutes and then they brought out 1 wrong and 2 of them almost completely melted. A lady next to us waited 35 minutes for a to go order and somehow the top of her bag was singed from a fire and they had her fry order wrong. Customer service was poor. We were seated and waited 5-7 minutes for our server to come to our table. There were maybe 15 people in the entire place. Every word was in a passing manner then after our food was brought to the table (room temperature and thrown together) we overheard our server was on break, which explained the lack of customer service. We even asked another server for napkins, she said give her a minute and never returned. This was a very disappointing experience, especially for a new chain restaurant in the metro area. Traveling from Birmingham to Dallas and searched Google Maps to locate a quick jump off I-20 to grab a meal and get back on the road. Searched the menu and identified the Western BBQ 'N Bacon Steakburger. Pulled in to a long drive-thru line, 2 sloppy employees just lounging outside, and a sign on the door rejecting customers, misspelled of course, "No Take Out Orders." Wife went inside to order and use the bathroom and asked why they weren't accepting TAKEOUT orders and a sorry employee snipped, "Do you not see the line?" PATHETIC! Maybe you should put those lazies out front back on the clock (heck, they may have even been on it) and SERVE your CUSTOMERS! Manager should be axed and Regional Manager should be ashamed. We both love the garlic burger and since our local SNS is no longer in business, we seized on the opportunity to get garlic burgers. The burgers were good and the French fries were so-so. The purpose of this review is to let management know what a great employee you had working the window. According to our receipt, her name is Sydney and she was at the window at 12:28. In a day and time when a lot of employees act like customers are a bother, she made us feel valued. She was pleasant, helpful and friendly in addition to being efficient and ensuring we had what we needed. She is definitely an asset to your store. My first visit. The shakes alone are what got the 3 star. The menu is the same as any burger joint, which is fine, but the wait was longer than expected ( even at lunch ). Pretty sure they lost a customer since the guy next to me waited forever (I even wanted to ask where his order was). But the burgers are fresh, the toppings are plenty and the price is in line for the quality and portions. The classic strawberry shake was a 9/10. I would have put a slice of strawberry on top of a strawberry shake, but even if I went with a cherry (like mine came with), I would have used a whole cherry...not a half of one, really?!
