I recently visited Broken Egg and specifically ordered "3 single Eggs Benedict" -- I made it clear I wanted three individual Benedicts (totaling three eggs), not three full separate orders. The waitress misunderstood and brought out three complete plates. These are not cheap items, so it was a significant mix-up on their end. When I politely pointed out the error and asked if they could adjust the bill by removing the extra orders, the operational manager was brought over. Instead of trying to make it right, he knelt down to speak to me in a very condescending tone, explained restaurant policy, and only offered a 25% discount. He refused to compromise or remove any of the mistaken items, even though the kitchen error created the waste. I felt like I was being talked down to and treated like a child, which led me to ask if this was how they handled similar situations with adults. He immediately accused me of being insulting and emphasized his position. At that point, I chose not to escalate further to avoid causing a scene. I paid the bill (thankfully a friend helped cover it), but the whole interaction left a bad taste. The food itself looked fine from what I saw, but the combination of the order mistake and the dismissive, ego-driven response from management made the visit really frustrating. It felt like they were more interested in protecting policy than taking care of a customer after their own error. I understand mistakes happen in busy restaurants, and not everything can be fully comped once plated. However, a more empathetic and professional approach from the manager would have gone a long way. Caught up with a classmate for breakfast one day while I was in town visiting. This was the third time coming to this location. We arrived early and got seated immediately. My classmate ordered a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I ordered the lobster and brie omelet. We left as members of the Clean Plate Society. I continue to try to like this restaurant, especially considering that no other breakfast spots are open on Sundays in this area. Unfortunately, I'm left disappointed every time. Between the obscene wait for a table, even while adding yourself to the list 45 minutes before arriving at the restaurant and excessive wait for food, I wonder why I keep going back. Very lackluster experience. We got on the waitlist for 7 before we left the house & it said a table would be ready in about 20mins (which was how long our drive was), and we still had to wait about 30mins by the time we got there & then once seated, service was subpar. We ordered drinks and one person ordered coffee that arrived about 20 minutes after we placed our food order. Two of us ordered off the gluten free menu & after an already ridiculous wait, they forgot one of the gluten free pancakes and told us that they could only cook them one at a time, so it would take more time to get that second order. So after the 6 other people in our group had finished our food, the staff finally showed up with the second gluten free pancakes. They didn't bring syrup and then took 10 minutes to come back with any. She ate it without syrup because we had no idea how long it would take for him to come back. When she cut into the gluten free pancakes, they were raw in the middle. Raw. After waiting while everyone else ate around her, the pancakes were raw. Insane. Mediocre service. Unacceptable food. To whom it may concern, I visited your store on February 9, 2025, at 8:08 a.m. and ordered the Mardi Gras Omelette to go. Before leaving, I added black pepper to my omelette. When I got to my car and tasted it, I found the omelette too salty, and the Hollandaise sauce had an overwhelming lemon flavor. I returned to the store and spoke with four different employees, explaining my dissatisfaction and requesting a refund. After waiting, I spoke with the manager, who informed me that refunds are not given for food, only replacements. Since I no longer felt confident that a replacement would meet my expectations, I declined and requested a refund again. The manager stated that a refund could not be issued until after 2 p.m., which was inconvenient since I live out of town. I ultimately left the store without a resolution. This experience was very disappointing, especially since I've visited your store in the past without any issues. Went with a party of 7. We did a waitlist for our party and when we arrived we still had to wait another 30 minutes. I ordered GF pancakes and so did my friend. When the food came out I had to wait an additional 20 minutes before my pancakes arrived. By the time they did, everyone in our party was done eating. Our server didn't bring me syrup, and another 5 minutes passed before I got it. The GF pancakes were completely raw and uncooked in the middle. It was like a giant pile of dough on the plate. Food is solid but the management needs help. They struggle to turn tables over to reduce the wait time. Had about a 40 min wait but had three tables open and watched it take about 15 min to put people in those seats. Then when we were seated I saw more of the same. My first visit was this past weekend for brunch with friends. I've wanted to try this place in any state for years so I was happy to go and see why it's always a wait to be seated. We had reservations so we were seated promptly and attended. With multiple orders for a group of nine, I think the waitress handled everything perfectly. I ordered the lobster/seafood shrimp and city grits. My order was correct but I must note the following: The food was warm but not hot and included a very small piece of lobster. It was more shrimp and andouille sausage throughout verses the lobster. If it's a lobster city grit special you need lobster or lobster chunks/pieces. The flavor and seasonings were good but again the lobster was missing. Honestly, the piece of lobster fit on the spoon served with the dish. I'm still not okay with that! The lemon Berry mimosa was okay. Nothing special it actually tasted like a malt flavored beer. It wasn't smooth just a spritzer taste and fill. I use to enjoy ABE, had a bad experience almost two years ago, yet I decided to try again. Food was cold and terrible. The Mardi Gras Omelete was not worth the eggs. Benegits were cooked hard sent them back, but came back cold and hard after being told they were fresh out the grease. Ordered chicken and waffles and yep chicken was cold. And, I added the Waffles and Chicken! Mom ordered the bacon, eggs, and toast. The waiter told me bringing both dishes to my side of the table no judgment here and laughed! I was in awe of this big dish of yummy spices with shrimp, sausages, grits and more. The presentation was so pretty! I hated to dig in but I did and it was over... I ate the whole bowl of Shrimp and Grits along with my second entree. The Waffles were good and fluffy, and I love good syrup, and the chicken was crispy with the perfect seasoning for a breakfast dish. Coffee superb! This place is so cute! Really enjoyed the atmosphere at this breakfast spot. We were seated as soon as we arrived and our waitress was so polite as well. It was a party of four, we had the sunrise spinach sampler , banana foster and buttermilk banana foster pancakes! The pancakes tasted good but preferred if they didn't come with syrup. In Jackson for medical appointments at UMMC. Party of four for breakfast. I've been to other locations and this one did not disappoint. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess. We sat outside. They have a nice outside dining area with some tables under a covering and some in direct sun. All employees were taking health precautions and they had hand sanitizer out for customers to use at the greeter station as well. They used printed menus to keep from multiple people touching laminated ones. Our server Matt was great. He took good care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. Food I had an omelette that was perfectly cooked. It had crawfish and I think lobster. Maybe it was the Floridian. The seafood tastes fresh and it was cooked perfectly. Coffee was on point too.
