The steak and eggs were cooked exactly as requested, tender and full of flavor. While the kitchen took a bit longer than expected, everything came out fresh and absolutely worth it. XOXO DINING: This was my least favorite restaurant. It was in a actual dining hall and looked decorated for a little girl's event, not really a restaurant vibe, but like simply for an event. It was decorated well, but it looked badly implemented with chipped paint, old looking furniture some parts looked a bit dirty or cheap when you look closely. This was specifically the bathroom which looked dingy. Decor and ambiance: 3/5 Service: the waiter was okay. He was young and seemed new so his recommendations did not appear confident. 4/5 Food and Drinks: I went for brunch. The pink drink wasn't pretty enough for me. It didn't photograph the best, but tasted okay. I drank diet soda after that. The steak and eggs were good. I added sausage and they were TERRIBLE! So I swapped them for bacon, which was fine. 4/5. Reservations: Came here on a Friday evening about 8:30pm for a bachelorette party dinner on time with our whole party for our reservation. Service: I'd consider service during our time here barely acceptable. PSA!!! TIP IS AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO YOUR BILL, which is probably why they don't care if their service is terrible. While waiting for our groups table to be ready, I figured I'd order a drink at the bar thinking it'd be quick and i could enjoy it while waiting. The bartenders were SO SLOW. There was no one else at the bar and the bartenders seemed to just be standing around. I ordered a drink off their menu, and my friend ordered a shot. Took the guy forever considering him and the other bartender were standing there doing nothing, and he even forgot to give me my card back. Food: Pretty average, and overpriced. Three girls on my end of the table ordered the simplest item on the menu- burger and fries. The waiter FORGOT my order, then acted surprised when everyone else had their food and I was looking at him like hello?? I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my food while everyone else got to enjoy theirs... We also paid for the sign/song/cupcakes package- waiter also acted like he forgot about it until a member in my party approached him to ask when they were going to do it They also do have a speakeasy in the back. Which here's another great story that happened during our visit! One of the waiters or managers told us we could go back there to take photos while waiting for our food, and their security guy in the Speakeasy told us we could not be back there. Threatened to check all our IDs, and purses. As one girl in my party pointed out, Texas is an open carry state. If he had searched out purses what was he expecting to find??? I personally wouldn't come back here. Service was terrible (probably because they already slide the tip onto your bill in hopes you'll double tip for their terrible service), and food overpriced for what you could get elsewhere. Came here with a group for a girlfriend's birthday dinner on a Sunday early evening. Its a cute space, probably more focused on the ambiance and vibes than anything else. Food was just okay, we ordered multiple appetizers to share and a few people ordered entrees. Note they offer 1/2 price appetizers and signature cocktails on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, which was a nice surprise. Overall, the drinks were better than the food--best bite was a toss between the crudite plate and the shrimp spring roll. Service was not great, especially since the restaurant wasnt packed. We had to search for our server a few times (had to ask another server for refills, the check, etc) and she came out with an incorrect order and argued with us about it. Not a fan of their valet, which takes up the entire private parking lot. If you want to park yourself, you're relegated to street parking. The venue is all pink and the interior design follows that same color palette - probably why so many people celebrate birthdays here and dress accordingly to match the aesthetic. When I mentioned it to the valet people, she repeatedly told me "talk to the manager" and I was not fixing to argue despite feeling scammed. Anyway, vibes were super cute and there are lots of good spots for pictures, especially in the garden out back. It was surprisingly not busy for Sunday Brunch, but service was still a little slow. We all ordered chicken and waffles and two Caesar salads, and it was a minute before our food arrived. In my opinion, food here is a little pricey and there's not much to choose from. Chicken and waffles were good, but were they worth $19? I could definitely see this place as a cute place to grab drinks and take cute pics with your girls, but it's a little overrated. This is probably the most instagram-worthy restaurant I've ever been to in terms of the decor and the overall vibes. Our server was fantastic and made good recommendations. I wished there were more options on the menu. If you want to be healthy there's a salad you can order but I needed to eat something substantial before going to another event that day so I opted for the chicken and waffles which were really good and a huge portion that I couldn't finish. And the server brought me some really good hot sauce upon request. Oh my gosh do yourself a favor and walk back past the back lounge area and go outside to the area with the pool. It was so wild. We felt like we found a secret spot. We had an 8:30 PM reservation, and our entire party was present by 8:35 PM. I initially arrived at 8:15 PM and waited at the bar with one of my guests while the others arrived. Despite only three other people being at the bar, it took quite a while to be acknowledged. When we were finally served, the bartenders were inattentive and borderline aggressive--and a single lemon drop was $22. Once seated, we waited over 30 minutes without service. At 9:21 PM, a server finally arrived with a pitcher of water. To her credit, she had just been informed by the front that our table existed, and the restaurant doesn't assign specific sections to servers. She was warm, professional, and hands down the best part of the night. The Food: We ordered several appetizers, but unfortunately, none of them were memorable. Given the overall experience, we stayed just long enough for the birthday shoutout and then decided to leave. The Ambience: The pink theme is cute and playful. There were several groups of teens and preteens celebrating birthdays. The music, however, was much too loud for dinner conversation. The vibe felt like a mix of teen party meets every trendy restaurant trope--green wall accents, over-the-top photo ops, and loud, flashy decor. Cleanliness Concern: One of our guests saw a male server (not ours) exit a restroom stall and leave without washing his hands. That completely killed any appetite we had left. Bright Spot: We did have fun dancing toward the end. The staff took our song requests, and we enjoyed that moment--even if it didn't feel like the type of establishment that normally welcomes dancing. I had made a reservation for Valentine's Day night only to learn on February 13 when I logged in that the restaurant had cancelled the reservation without so much as calling to notify me. This is a place where you pay for the aesthetic. The decor and pink vibe is so nice and appealing. We sat at the bar so service was prompt and efficient. We got the spicy joule pasta ($27) to share and the half off cocktail hour specials (uptown diva and guilty pleasure both $7.50). I'd recommend getting the drinks during their happy hour since they were good! Both on the sweeter end. The pasta was okay- honestly not spicy as advertised and the portion was great. Got the 4 for $75 Patron bottle deal, that cocktail tasted more like a mocktail. It was still good. Ordered the beef skewers and truffle fries, they were fine but cold. XOXO is an instagramers dream and the interior design is absolutely stunning. The service is top notch as well! Where they lost stars for me is the food and drink unfortunately. First off menu is pretty expensive in my opinion. Also, for being a brunch place they have very limited coffee options and don't bother asking by for hot tea as they don't have it. We got the mimosa flight which was cute but again probably could have gotten bottomless mimosas somewhere else for less. We ordered the chicken and waffles, avocado toast and french toast. The chicken and waffles had good flavor but unfortunately were kind of cold when they came out. The avocado toast was the biggest disappointment. Very little avocado and the "toast" was soggy. The french toast wasn't bad but nothing extravagant. The side potatoes and bacon were both good. The drinks were good, but I didn't feel like waiting for my second one to come because I was scared that I wouldn't get it by the time we were ready to leave . Also one of our friends got her food probably 20-25 minutes before anybody else got theirs . Spent $45 on that cupcake wheel and the icing on it was extremely hard and the cupcakes were very dry. I did ask the waitress if they made them and she confirmed they did. I don't know who's grandma's recipe y'all use, but y'all need to change it. There is 20% gratuity on every tab. If it were based on service and quality , then I probably would've tipped a lot less than that 20%. That explains why the food is so overpriced because im sure they're aware their service and quality is par... hardly anyone would tip. I have a feeling this business is not gonna last very long. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done, leathery, and completely flavorless. Not even close. The food overall was poorly seasoned and borderline inedible. My wife's dish was equally disappointing--bland and forgettable, like the kitchen forgot salt exists. The only things that weren't terrible were the drinks and the shrimp roll appetizer, which says a lot when the best parts of a "dining room" are liquid and a starter. To make things worse, the first table we were seated at was wobbly. When I asked if it could be fixed, the only solution offered was to move us to another table--no attempt to actually address the issue. Not exactly great service. The atmosphere was unbearable. The place was extremely loud, with music blasting so loudly it was hard to have a conversation with the person sitting across from you. Every few minutes it somehow got even louder due to over-the-top birthday celebrations, complete with club-style bottle service vibes and blinding LED lights. This is supposed to be a restaurant, not a nightclub. Most of the tables seemed to be filled with very young, teenage crowds, which only added to the chaotic, immature atmosphere. If you're looking for an actual dining experience, this is not it. I took two bites of my food and immediately asked for the check because I couldn't force myself to eat any more. To top it all off, a 20% gratuity was automatically included, which is absolutely horrendous given the quality of food, service, and overall experience. What a vibe at XOXO Dining Room! Wish we had one in Austin, TX! This venue is so versatile. An event planners dream come true really ha it can be a restaurant, which I've heard is the spot to be for brunch. Super Instagram-able...they even have Champagne buttons! Two other smaller rooms for private events. The Green Room I can Invision for small cocktail reception or bridal/baby shower. The Mr. X room has a stage and is dark and mysterious. Then there is a whole other large dining area once you go past the amazing outdoor patio space. There is even a small pool! I loved it all. The different areas and decor are on point. Chef brought us out an assortment of items. Charcuterie, impossible meatballs, lamb(my fav), filet mignon, salad, and amazing cupcakes. I'm not huge on sweets and they were perfection! To top it off the staff and food are amazing. Justin thank you to you and your staff for the warm welcome and hospitality! Horrible Service! I have never ever been rushed in a restaurant like that, the waitress was there every 20 second until we ordered, she kept reminding us we have 90 minutes for the table. We were a party of 5, and one of us was not ready to order yet, he said just give me a minute, however, she brought other people's order and asked him to give order afterwards. Super unprofessional!! The food wasn't good either, I got the short rib, the meat cooked very well, but smelled really bad, you could tell it has been on a freezer for few weeks! You can even go and take pics before you're seated. There were there dining areas which all had a different vibe. Once thing I noticed is that this place is common for accommodating large parties. I saw parties ranging from 7+ to even 20+. I strongly suggest making reservations. There are party packages to help celebrate which include cupcakes, signage, etc depending on the price you want to pay. There are no complimentary birthday cakes or treats. The food was basic+ (basic plus). It had a cute presentation but I've had more flavorful entrees. Nonetheless it's not bad. Keep in mind that there is a 90 min dining limit so make sure that all of your party arrives together and that you are ready to order at the same time. They do offer complimentary parking. There are multiple areas available for dining, including a beautiful outdoor patio area. We chose to enjoy brunch in the main dining area. The brunch menu is very limited but our waitress and management allowed us to alter some of the food options. Instead of the chicken and waffles, I held the waffles and ordered a side of truffle fries. The food was delicious. The fried chicken paired with the XOXO sauce was a perfect combo. We ordered two mimosa flights which were more than enough for our table of three. They delivered the flight with a nice sparkle set up. Our waitress was amazing and she was very friendly. I wanted so badly to give this a great rating for the food, but with how bad the service was I couldn't justify it. The ambiance is sparkly, pink, and modern, and perfect for parties or girls' nights. There are plenty of photo ops outside and the entire place is tastefully decorated. Unfortunately, we sat down for our 4:30pm reservation and ended up sitting at our table for 30 minutes without seeing a server or having a drink. The restaurant wasn't busy; no one was coming over to help us. By the time we finally got the attention of our server, we had our entire meal picked out, so we ordered everything. They were going to charge extra for candles and they gave us plastic spoons. What is that?! I've never been to a place where they charged extra for candles. Drinks weren't that great. Soooo I can totally see how Xoxo can have great reviews and poopy reviews. Fortunately my girls and I had a positive experience so it's a thumbs up from us. $5 valet up front if you choose to do that * Make those ressies- We decided to go here on a whim so I made ressies that same day for the last slot available. A Saturday afternoon at 2:30. When we arrived, there were tons of people waiting. Apparently they had to shut down the outdoor covered area in the back for an event so everything was backed up for inside seating. They apologized and gave us complimentary champagne while we were waiting. 45 min later we were seated inside. Now for us no biggie since we didn't have a tight schedule but I could see how others were prob annoyed especially for having ressies... *Food/drinks- My friends ordered the pink drink and it was good. I needed a break from the alcohol so I ordered the virgin. It was super sweet and basically like drinking syrup so I added water to it and wished I went with the alcohol and got the pink drink instead.Lols Also ordered the truffle fries and pink French toast, both delish! Our waitress was nice but took years with taking our orders, bringing our orders and the check. Again, we were not in a rush so no biggie for us. They blast a happy birthday song on the speakers while bringing out sparklers with whatever you ordered. I think you have to order something in particular for that so def inquire about if you're going for a bday. *Dress to impress - Most of the customers were pretty dressed up since it's good for parties i.e. - bdays, bridal showers, girl time, bachelorette, graduations, etc. So I felt a wee bit underdressed in my cotton stripe dress, sneaks and belt bag. Aka tourist attire. Lols But all good bc I was a tourist! *Vibes- The interior has some cute spots for all your instagrammy shots. It's loud inside so if you don't like that it might not be the place for you. Maybe the outdoor seating is better? The bathrooms are ok and a lil dirty, could use a makeover. The exterior is borderline cheesy with the pink brick exterior and splashes of randomness. Could use a more classy makeover as well. Didn't get to see the outdoor area but did take pics in this small section to the side with a swinging chair and sign that said, "wish you were here". So that was cute.... read more
