No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. I requested Rylee as my server. I met her when I had lunch this past year. Rylee is certainly one of the best servers I have ever had. That's where I ended up. There's also outdoor seating but you better believe I opted for indoor seating. Took one of the high tables in the bar area. Liv was the bartender and server. She was attentive - even while taking care of what seemed like was the entire bar area. Friendly and knew her stuff. Her cocktails were balanced and though they didn't really pair with my food, I enjoyed them anyway. Food. See pics. Went with deviled eggs, tomato soup and mushroom gnocchi. Simple. Tasty and I'd have them again. Capped the night with a crunch cake (? - don't remember the name) and left feeling great having had a simple, but delicious meal in a lively fun gathering spot.
