Great service with highest quality and most authentic food on Tybee. The cocktails and drink choices are top notch. The location is a hidden gem with quiet ambience and cute outdoor patio it makes for a great ambience for a high quality dinner while on the island.

We've only eaten at The Kelpie a couple of times but we're very satisfied with the food and the service.

Excellent service, food and cocktails!…read more Parking is adequate but not ample. (Don't try to park your Super C in the lot :) The bar and dining area are in a sort of ramada with curtains. If you're there in cold weather, position yourself in front of one of the blasting electric space heaters. I was there in January and didn't pay much attention to the outdoor seating, but did notice some fun-looking transparent geodesic dome tent-like thingies you can sit in. I had raw local oysters, falafel bites, and nachos. The oysters were fresh, chilled and served with interesting condiments. The falafel was sizzling hot and served with delicious tzatziki. I opted for South African sausage on the nachos and they were an interesting dining experience: made with sturdy potato chips instead of tortilla chips. The best part? The margaritas! I've been traveling around the Deep South for a month now and they are by far the best I've found.

I know this place has a very high rating but I'm sorry we didn't get that during our latest visit…read moreon 5-8-26. Yes, latest visit since we also visited June 2025, and gave that visit a 4 star. Let me say there were several issues during this visit. First, they didn't have a common beer available, claiming they ran out of Corona. Now it is a Friday night and you're going into the weekend without one of the most popular beers - just crazy. Next I ordered the Low Country Boil, well after a few minutes another person comes to me as says they have no potatoes for the meal and offered extra sausage to make up the meal. I accepted that. When my meal came out, the server now tells me they owe me 2 more pieces of corn and they would quickly bring that to me. Guess what - never got them. The two pieces I did get were cold - I mean not fully boiled/cooked. Icy cold inside. Now we were with several other couples and one couple had to ask for their drinks a second time. Fact is their meal came out before their first drinks. I have to also mention the men's rooms. I was clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned in a while. Now let's face it, it got screwed up due to nasty guests, but staff really need to check it every so often. Folks I visit Tybee twice a year and there are plenty of options on the island. I think the Zunibar has lost my future business, as well as the 3 other couples we were with. If you choose here you have been warned. I hope you have a better visit.

Menu has a clear focus on a several diff go to dog options, along with other sando and plated selections. Don't sleep on them oysters either! We have a fantastic dinner with a fish dip app plus 3 of the 4 oysters featured. Split an Italian dog and a chicken thigh sando that was incredible. Extra props for being knowledgeable and giving a damn about food allergies as well. Incredible service from several diff staff members throughout the meal. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Do not get the coffee at Sea Wolf Tybee…read more In Sea Wolf's defense, our server told me as such. I ordered coffee, and he practically begged me not to. "Imagine Folgers... but worse," he said. I grew up on Eight O'Clock coffee--the only brand worse than Folgers-- so opted to brave the drip from Sea Wolf Tybee. How bad could it really be? Really bad. The Sea Wolf Tybee coffee was really, really, bad. The owners have made a deal with the barrier island devil where their successful establishment came at the expense of serving the worst coffee on earth. The coffee wasn't just bland, it was reeking with flavor, as if a tybee island horseshoe crab has been decaying in the coffee pot since the eatery was established in 2020. The server tried his hardest to prevent this 4-star review by warning me about the coffee, and in his defense the taste is not why I deducted Sea Wolf Tybee one star. I deducted one star because the vile 12oz cup of black drip coffee was $5 dollars. Like any diner at a lunch spot, I did not check the coffee's price before ordering it, assuming it'd be the standard $2-3 dollars. Even specialty coffee shops max their drip coffee prices at $4.50. Instead, Sea Wolf Tybee has opted to charge $5, rake-in a 95% profit margin, and exploit the trust of patrons who assume a cup of joe won't cost as much as Georgia's hourly minimum wage. I'm a former barista and coffee-lover, and $5 is the most expensive drip coffee I have ever encountered. Sea Wolf Tybee had outdone itself--the bill was more nauseating than the coffee.

Great place! Food was delicious! So good we went twice on our five day trip to Savannah!!read more

Hi Everyone, So…read moreyou're dressed for the concert and maybe your seeing and are anticipating your delight while you listen to John Cougar Mellencamp, KC and the Sunshine Band, Chicago, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Martin and Martin Short, or the Motown All-Stars (e.g. "Holy Mackerel Ethel, we have to check out the Johnny Mercer, it's got some great shows." Rolling her eyes as if to say, who knew? As she has been saying this for years, as she utters, "Good idea, Geddes.") at the Johnny Mercer Theatre that starts at 7:30 PM. But where to eat, how to get to the restaurant, and back to theatre on time for the concert while making it easy, no stress, fun, relaxing, taste enthralling, thrilling, care free, laid back, exciting, entertaining, safe, and logistically possible? Well, let's see Sweetpea. How about we arrive at 4:30 PM, and park at the Liberty Street Parking garage, right accross the street from the Johnny Mercer Theatre. Easy, check. Next we get an Uber to the Six Pence Pub. Why? No stress, check. We start our meal, with one of their adventuresome, tasty, cocktails which are all fantastic. "But how about getting to the Concert?" Right now, we're having some fun hanging out with our friends and catching up. Fun, check. Please remember Poindexter (I.e. my name for my conscience), we're not driving until after the concert is over which leaves us about five hours to recover from our cocktail before dinner, or two, you Devil you! Relaxing, check. We next get to experience eating some of the most delicious food in Savannah, GA. From the Crab Cake, to the Scotch Eggs, to the Smoked Salmon to their bombastic Broiled Portabella, their appetizers were both savory and palette pleasing. Then our companions had their outstanding, tastebud tintilating, French Onion and Chicken Noddle soups which are both made from scratch. Yea, yea, French Onion and Chicken Noodle soup, big deal. If you have not had it, I am here to tell you, there is nothing ordinary about either, as both were very delicious. We then dined on their Open Roast Beef, their Tender Pot Roast, their Atlantic Salmon all of which offered a very pleasing, tremendous taste in their own right. However, the Broiled flounder stuffed with shrimp and scallops was so exceptional, we ordered another two of these entrees so we could all share this dish as part of each of our meals. Taste enthralling, check. Please note, I did not write the words, "Pub Food" above as the Six Pence Pub's fare will thrill your tastebuds right down to the last morsel. Thrilling, check. Our Server was exceptional, timely, and personable. Care free, check. Our ambience was simply Pub delightful! Laid back, check. But then the bill came and lo and behold our friend had to stand and do a little Irish jig, or did he have to go to the bathroom?... Nah, it was the very reasonable pricing that pleased us all as we scampered to catch our Uber. No, wait a minute, we did not dine and dash. We would never dine and dash. We tipped our Server handsomely, paid our bill, and then we all scampered to catch our Uber as we were all feeling wonderful. Exciting, check. We made the show with twenty-five minutes to spare, which left us enough time to buy our lovely dinner companions a show Tee Shirt to memorialize our evening together. Our show was extremely entertaining which thrilled us all, to no end. Thanks Steve and Martin, you're the best! Thrilling, and entertaining, double check. Logic dictates that when we were able to throughly enjoy our evening while having an easy, no stress, fun, relaxing, taste enthralling, thrilling, care free, laid back, exciting, entertaining time that it is, in fact, logistically possible. Logistically possible, check. And yes, we were safely able to enjoy our ride home while we all talked about how much we enjoyed our evening together. Safe, check. So what is the acronym or memory mnemonic here? ENSFRTETCFLBEESL But how do you pronounce it? Ya'll figure it out. I did almost all the work here in writing this review, lol. Enjoy!
