What's a summer vacay without a little daiquiri or three? It's been a long time since I've been to Wet Willie's but when we saw that it wasn't far from our Airbnb, we decided to head on over. This Wet Willie's isn't far from the beach and sits on the little Tybee Island strip. There were two other parties sitting and eating when we entered, so we just fell in line at another table. Only two of us were drinking so we headed to the bar. The young guy helping us wasn't super helpful, to be honest lol he seemed a little annoyed that we were asking questions and digging into the menu. When we asked questions, he answered but I would have loved to hear his favorites or any sort of recommendations. I opted for a combo that was super ugly but it worked! I was surprised that they also had food on the menu. If they offered food at other Wet Willie's that I've visited, I do not remember lol. This menu included some classic favorites such as wings, tacos and quesadillas. We tried all of the above as well as their sliders. The food was actually good. Maybe not Michelin star ready, but tasty! I appreciated that a gentleman, (who I assume is the manager) came by each table checking in on us and our experience. I love it here. The drinks are really good. They have a lot of options and they're not too pricey and pretty strong. The food is kind of basic bar food, but four basic bar food. It's delicious. I got the spinach and artichoke dip which had tomato in it which I thought was interesting and it was delicious and then their cheese bites were also really good. They have this really delicious marinara sauce. The service was lovely and it's fun in there because it's just a bunch of fun like drink options they definitely have enough stuff for kids. Wet Willie's is known for their delicious boozy slushees, but not many people realize they have food too! I popped in around 10:30 AM on a Saturday. It was relatively quiet compared to how I usually see it. Later I noticed the sign in the door that said they are not able to serve alcohol before 11 AM. I was looking for breakfast anyway, and found it here! I ordered the 3 cheese omelet, and it was served with hash browns and toast. I opted to take my food to go and eat on the beach. (Please be sure to clean up your trash if you decide to do this!!) The omelette was still warm by the time I settled into the sand and was ready to eat. Rain ruined the beach plan so after breakfast we shopped around and had some drinks. It was blazing hot still so a frozen bev sounded perfect. I know from my college days that the call a cab will put you on your ass. So I ordered a large with an extra shot. I think it was like five drinks together cause I was definitely feeling it after that one. The place is tiny and with covid, limited capacity meant two tiny tables in and two out. It was more of a walk through line to get frozen drinks. What I was super impressed with though was their precautionary measures. COMMERCIAL BREAK!!! We all know I'm a brick and mortar type of girl today the family wanted to go to Willie's. It was pretty early in the day before the New Year's Eve festivities kicked off. They have plenty of selections of frozen drinks I like me liquor straight to the point. My mom loved and got saucy though lol. While the margaritas weren't my drink of choice (straight to the point type of person) the food was. The gumbo was everything and a good recommendation from Lindsey. My family loved the tacos and lemon pepper wings tender and the blue cheese was real and a key to my happiness. The burgers were a bit salty for my brother but everything else was right on time. If you think Wet Willies is an unlikely or strange place to go for breakfast, I would agree with you before we stumbled by there looking for a place to have breakfast. The other breakfast spots on Tybee were packed! Wet Willie's didn't even have a line. We got a seat right away. There are only a few tables so that could change very quickly. The menu has just about all the breakfast regulars and some daily specials. I ordered the French toast and my husband ordered the daily special scramble. The prices were very reasonable. I got two pieces of French toast, home fried potatoes and a small side of grits for $6.50. Amazing. Breakfast was good. They have some tables outside if you like sitting outside. We recently stopped by here 3 times in a 3 day trip, so that really says it all. I've never been much of a daiquiri person but their selection and quality are top notch. I can only comment on the daiquiris since nobody in my group ordered the food. Our favorites were the mango and piña colada, which was my personal favorite (it has vanilla ice cream in it!). I had the nachos here, and they were so tasteful and generously portioned that I was eating them with the fervor and sloppiness of Kurt Russel's character in "Deathproof." The place was empty and our friendly server gave us different daiquiri samples to try while we waited for the food to arrive. My wife had stomach illness after a drink here, and when she tried to call and give the bar a heads up (to watch out for other patrons having the same problem), the staff was extremely rude and tried to blame it on overconsumption. Another person in our party felt a little ill from a different drink as well. I don't know what kind of safeguards are in place here as far as machine cleanliness, but one thing is for sure: They don't care and don't want to hear about any possible problems on their end. Stopped in for a quick bite of food and maybe a drink. Under COVID-19, the restaurant had virtually no customers although parking was hard to get. By the way, parking on this island is not limited to 2-hours, like I was reading in all the critiques. When you purchase your ticket in the main parking machines, you can buy it for as long as you feel you need it. The "default" is 2-hours, but you can buy more or less time. I think I bought 4.5 hours for about $13. Place the ticket on the dash of your car and park in any public parking area. This restaurant is on a sort narrow one-way street that's mixed in with all the souvenir shops and other quick restaurants. Make sure to visit the shops, which all have reasonable prices. We had the 3 piece Black Angus sliders with fries. See picture of menu. They were good and came with tomato's and pickles, as well as an order of fries. We drank water. All the mixed drinks are premixed except for maybe one. The machines are like Icee Machines that dispense the frozen slushy alcoholic drinks ... Not what we cared for.
