We love this place! The food is good, with good prices. We love to sit outside by the pond and look at the fish and frogs.

Friendly and inviting with great food. Despite traveling wi the 10 in our families, the smaller indoor area was still able to accommodate our seating needs with big booths and small tables near by. Outdoor area was big and ample but a little too cold for some of our family members. The food was delicious. There wasn't one plate that hit our table that disappointed. Few appetizers were ordered, Tuna bites and Blue Crab dip with pita, to share. With our big orders of the Oyster Po Boy sandwich and the Crab-cake sandwich accompanied by fries. We have a few days left and the family are considering this location as a return but definitely on my must and recommended list in this area. read more

Yes you should go here. Hands down one of the best places in all of Georgia. The food is amazing and the vibes are even better. They outdoor area is so amazing there's a stream with fish and frogs, they have live music, they have the game on and Adam Sandler movies all while enjoying some of the freshest blue crap dip you'll ever have. Always loved takeout from here for many years. Great staff and high quality food until recently Concerned about the food ordered. Looks like frozen onion rings and cheese sticks. Chicken fingers were very, very small The sauces accompanying the meal weighed about the same as the food ordered. I know the economy is struggling but I would prefer to pay higher price for the better quality that I have had in previous orders/years. I never do this and mainly because ive been in the restaurant industry for 5 years and a server for 3 But what I experienced today was very rude. My friend and I saw our server (Ansley) maybe 3 times. Everyone around us was constantly checked in on and prioritized It also took us almost an hour to get our food with no explanation on why. And too see everyone around us get there food while being seated after us doesnt make the situation any better. Not to mention when my friend got her food it was almost completely wrong. she also only came to check on how we were enjoying once we were completely done eating. I dont know if its because we are both in our twentys why we got this type of service but I am very disappointed not inly with her but the manager as well because I never saw one. read more

We (my family) are semi-regulars at this establishment. The food is casual and service is typically pretty good. They have a rotating menu of specialty cocktails which we usually enjoy. There is a stream running around the deck so that can be fairly entertaining for kids. We could see the deck being a good place to come watch the big game when the weather is nice. read more

Our last night in Savannah we had a late dinner. It was near our Airbnb. We got there it was probably 2 hrs before closing. We may of been the last people they sat for the night. Everyone else was probably finishing up. We could tell because the team started to relax and start the prep for closing. The kitchen got loud. Ok, we order food came out decent. Had to ask for another plate of fresh fries, which they got with no prob. Overall my grilled fish was perfect and held the moisture. Fried pickles were spears a bit different but eatable. I went here due to a friend having her little wedding reception on the second floor. Place had a decent size. Downstairs had the bar and when you go upstairs, it's a patio with another smaller bar and an inside part. The bartenders were nice, drinks were pretty good. Not sure if the food served was part of the bar too but it was pretty decent. read more

I can't say enough good things about this recent discovery. I call the restaurant a discovery because you kind of have to be looking for it and it's still hard to find. They have surrounded the building with so much greenery and decor once you get inside the restaurant you have no idea you are surrounded by other shops and a parking lot. It's amazing! The outside deck is awesome. It's surrounded by tv's if you like that kind of thing. But they are way up So they don't mess up the great view. The place is much larger than you would think. They have a large private party section or I read they have live entertainment sometimes. The drink menu is large. There are lots of specialty drinks, wines and beers. The menu is great. What a fun spot! At this location, you feel as if you're on island time with plenty of cabana deck seating in a tucked away, difficult to find spot on Wilmington Island. If indoor dining is your preference they have plenty of booths, high tops and a large horseshoe shaped bar with counter stools all around. Flat screen TVs inside and out playing a variety of sporting events. The Wedge Salad, $10, was a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce generously topped with diced tomato, crisp bacon, blue cheese crumbles and delicious blue cheese dressing. If this is the size of their Wedge Salad all the time, it's definitely shareable! The bowl of chili, $7, was tasty, but had a slight sweetness. Have it topped with cheese, diced onion and sour cream for a $1 up charge. They have a full bar, signature drinks, and wine. Friendly, attentive service! I will return! read more

Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 5 stars Background - My daughter has picked out this place as we had another event in the area. Atmosphere -  I would never had found this place as it is tucked in the back of strip mall.  Thankfully I was following our friend.  We sat outside and it was a very tropical vibe.  We had two small tables pushed together, leg space was awkward. Food Drink - I had a great new beer to me, Astronaut Sauce.  I had to get the beer just on the name. Meal - I had the crab cake sandwich with Spanky's spuds.  The crab cake deep fried but cold.  The sandwich had the all the toppings on the plate.  Shredded lettuce is not the easiest thing to add to sandwich.  Why would you do this?  Spanky's is their sister properties and the fries were disappointing.  They are thinly sliced potatoes that are breaded.  Most of them were cold.  I had one batch all stuck together which were very hot.  I just do not know I am getting so much cold food.  I get serving a large group is hard but how hard is it to get at least warm food. Very disappointed tonight. One always wants a local spot to be good, but tonight was eh! My husband ordered a glass of top shelf scotch, it was anything but. So, he ordered a Long Island Ice Tea. It was terrible! Didn't look right, no garnish and the taste was horrible. My Caesar salad was drenched in so much dressing that it was near impossible to eat. My Asian salmon and asparagus were very tasty and well cooked. My husband ordered blackened tuna which was very small and definitely not blackened. We told our waiter who said huh, it isn't? No it wasn't blackened! Then we were charged $1 extra for blackening! He says his mixed veggies were very tasty and well done. To top it all off, the minute we got home, I had to run for the toilet. Molly McGuire's is a fun place to eat on Wilmington Island, near Tybee Beach. Being so close to the waters, it definitely has a beachy, island feel to it. It is a big restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I LOVE the decor, colors, and atmosphere of this place. The walkway towards the entrance is covered in trees and you are immediately greeted by the cats that pretty much own the place. Yes, cats. Sounds uncomfortable, but it's actually awesome. read more

First time here, from out of town. It came highly recommended. Sooo disappointed. Prices were to high for beer. My appetizer, blue crab dip, was good, The chips were stale. Service was not good. Not very much for the price, $13.00. We liked the band. But we left without ordering anything else due to the above mentioned. Going to try another bar with a band. It was my first experience visiting Molly McGuires, and if I have to revisit that would be cool too. My class reunion was housed in the courtyard area and they were able to accommodate a live band on the porch or main entryway to the restaurant. It was perfect. Now, the food...for a vegan it was a little tricky because of course there are many seafood dishes to consume, but when I asked for a few thrown together things that I could eat they were more than happy to provide me with an inclusive meal made to my specifications. Everything was delicious and good portions. The fried shrimp and the teriyaki sauce chicken fingers were my favorite. Paige was our bartender she was amazing. A favorite place to eat outside on a Sunday afternoon in this chilly weather. They have wonderful outdoor heaters! Also with consistently good food, good service, and servers wearing masks, it makes this a great place with the current COVID situation. My only criticism is not really with the restaurant, but rather with some inconsiderate guests allowing their children to run around screaming & yelling around the outside decks. My family and I stopped in primarily for trivia night. My daughter lives in the area and this is her regular, local bar. They had a full bar and a nice selection of local craft brews. I wasn't feeling adventurous today so I had the basic fish and chips. They were a little overcooked but had a very good flavor and I wasn't disappointed. On the advice of the waitress, I also had the Spanky's Spuds. They were very good. Its a fried potato side dish. I'll leave it at that so I don't give anything away. You have to try it. The waitress was friendly and helpful. She was a little slow getting us drinks and keeping refilled, but they were a little busy for trivia night. She was definitely working hard. Overall, a decent meal, decent service and some good beers. I'll likely be back when I visit in the fall. read more

My boyfriend and I came in today to grab lunch and drinks. We sat on the patio until it got too cold, so we moved to the bar. I could not sit my drink down or sit down. The bartender told us to go sit at the high tops outside.... still just as cold there. We said no, we came inside bc it is too cold and we want to sit at the bar. This little brunette bartender informed us we couldn't t sit at the bar bc she would have to transfer tickets.... I guess no one taught the bartender to close out a table and start a new tab at the bar? She did apologize for not being competent enough to do this. Molly's is a go-to spot when we want something a little different but not too far to go. So tonight we were hungry for some shrimp. We each chose the Mate's Plate of steamed shrimp. The shrimp were very tasty and it would have been nice to get 2-3 more, we did order the smaller portion. With this order it includes one side, and I chose hush puppies. The ones I got were NOT the typical hush puppies that we have gotten here before. Today's hush puppies were overcooked with an exterior that had to be opened with a knife or fork. Usually they can be easily eaten by breaking it into pieces with your fingers, but that literally was not possible today. Once opened the inside was dense with the consistency of cornbread without baking powder. I tried several of them and all of the ones I tried were the same consistency. I could not eat them. When the server came and asked the ubiquitous"so how was everything?" I told her that the hushpuppies were not good. In fact, I told her that they were really bad. She just looked at me like, " I have no idea what you are saying" and said, "okay." I did not ask for a substitute or a discount. I will not order them again, but I will be mindful of that item in the future not only here but at Molly McGuires "sibling" restaurants in this local chain. read more

This place was hard to find at night. I wished I had missed it altogether. I stopped in based on the 4-star reviews. I'm not a fan. Had the crab cake sandwich and she crab stew. The crab cake, while tasty, had bits of shell in it rendering it in enjoyable. The remoulade sauce came in a plastic cup with lid on the side. Not what I would expect from a 4-star establishment. The soup had a nice flavor but it was not served to temperature so I couldn't eat it. The service was lacking with my server opting to sit in the next booth chatting with friends rather than refill drinks. Overall it wasn't good. My husband and I visited the afternoon of 12/11 and we had a wonderful experience. Just wanted to praise everyone we interacted with from the host, to the server. Our server was Mia and she was very upbeat, attentive, and kind. I ordered a Molly-Rita and IT WAS DELICIOUS. The chicken on my sandwich was blackened to perfection, and the spuds we both ordered were top notch. Mia apologized for the wait for our food but truly neither of us noticed an inordinate amount of wait time. In our view, there was nothing to apologize for. One of my favorite places to visit on the island. The bartenders Paddy, Taylor, Tyler, Sean, and Sydney always welcome me like they are happy to see me. They are quick, warm and personable. It's refreshing to see them when I visit. Sydney is one of the hardest working there. I watched her hustle from the crowded bar, walk ups and across the patio on an active evening. I was impressed how attentive she was to all patrons, how quick she was and she did it all while smiling in 80 degree humid weather. I recommend this place for a "secret" oasis, quality staff and pretty decent bar food. Oh, and football Sunday! And when it's not football season... Sunday funday. read more
