There is a parking lot but it's not super big and it looks like people park there that are visiting some of the other places near by. The outdoor patio area is very nice and inviting. Inside there is a large bar, high tops and regular tables. Chris was our server and he took good care of us making suggestions and checking in frequently. They have a nice beer selection. There are lots of meat staples and Chris suggested the Shepards pie or the Rueben. We are vegetarians so we opted for the margarita pizza and the Greek salad. Each one is suooosed to be one serving but we split the pizza and the salad and had left over pizza to bring home. The food was good. It's nice but a relaxed atmosphere. read more

I've been out of the country for a few weeks and upon my return, I was informed that a new Irish Pub had opened off of Johnny Mercer Blvd. on Wilmington Island. Well, I definitely love a good pint of Guinness, so the first thing I did was come here to Yelp to see if there were any reviews. Not finding any, I then checked Google to see exactly where this pub was located. When I saw that there were already 38 mostly 5-star reviews for a place that was only open a couple of weeks, and moreover that the vast majority of these so-called reviews were all posted by people with no previous reviews to their name, or only one previous review in their posting history, I immediately suspected that the reviews were phony and had been posted by employees or friends of the business owner. Nevertheless, I decided to check it out today. I showed up about noon and was warmly greeted by the bartender as I walked in the door. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a pint. I have to admit that it was well-poured and one of the best-tasting pints I've had in Savannah. I wasn't hungry, but took a look at the menu anyway, as well as glancing over at food that was delivered to other customers. Although the menu is pretty much limited to bar pizza, wings, and salad, everything looked well prepared, and the other customers appeared to be enjoying their food. I ordered a second pint and began watching some college football on one of the several tv screens. After finishing my pint, I requested my bill, curious to see what the charges were since no beer or mixed drink prices are shown anywhere on the menu. That's when I learned that each pint was $8. Coming from Miami, this seemed normal to me. But having lived in Savannah for a few months now, this seems more like a price you'd find in the historic district, not out in laid-back Wilmington Island. That said, I think the price is fair and I'll definitely be back to try some of the food. And perhaps award a fifth star at that time. read more

Hopefully Carrie is working to take care of you as she is an amazing server. She steered me to the Reuben sandwich which was incredible. Really good corned beef some of the best I have had. I've waited to write a review, as I didn't want to hinder an establishment that was "finding its way". From what I have heard recently is that the Snug is being restructured, so thought it's a good time for constructive criticism. I had returned in the fall of last year to the USA after 8 months in a vegetarian community in Costa Rica. Not being a vegetarian, I was looking forward to some hearty meals! The idea of going to an Irish Pub was enticing. Since I have lived in London for 3 years in my past, I was hoping for a great selection between fish & chips, bangers & mash, meat pies, yummy roasts & stews, and my favorite corn beef! I hope my comments regarding my past experience can help you for future. We were greeted well, but after that the good service ended. We needed to ask for every standard item regarding table service...water, silverware, salt & pepper....our server felt untrained & lost! Upon looking at the menu I was quite confused, finding the highlights to be pizza, mozzarella sticks, & chicken wings. Having also lived in Italy for close to 15 years...the last thing I would order is Italian Cuisine from an "Irish Pub"! The only Irish comfort food I found on the menu was Shepards Pie...that I love! So I ordered..... The Shepards Pie arrived as a CHUNK on a plate looking unsavory & unappetizing. Upon my first taste I realized it was a microwaved meal that had been cooked somewhere in the past. Upon trying again I found the meal fit the standard of microwave heating....some parts hot, some parts cold. Gordon Ramsey would have lots to say about this! LOL I asked the server to please have it reheated, and I know for sure they just popped it back into the microwave. The meal returned to me in the same state, parts super hot & parts super cold. Being OVER IT at that point I ate the mediocre meal to resolve my hunger. I am not a complainer when I am at restaurants, so I left without expressing my views.... Ended up here by default. Went to go to another local establishment and they were under renovations so we came here. Nice little place. Very clean - bathroom immaculate! Limited menu. Pretty full bar. Had wings and they were good size and very tasty - very hot right out of the oven/fryer. Ordered a pizza and honestly it was meh at best. Took home and will pop it in the air fryer . Taste was fine , nothing over the top. Will come back and give it another try. Not going to one off it but will give it another chance and try some other menu items. I live locally and have been to the Snug a few times once it opened a year or two ago. The pub has expanded and the owner is a veteran and I've seen his kid's come to the pub after school and grab after school dinner with Dad. It's hard not to root for this place from the start. I can now with the recent expansion and changes made to the menu give a complete endorsement to the pub. It's a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. Good people. Good food. I went to The Snug for the first time last night to try a simple favorite... The Rueben. Service was slow which has come to be a norm but the main dining room was full so we sat in the room next to it. No one seemed to know we were there. The room was cold. The first thing we saw was another couple sending a pizza back that was made incorrectly. When I got my Rueben it was almost entirely fat. I couldn't even bite into it. After having to sort through the meat I ate a mostly sauerkraut sandwich. The fries were over cooked and because they put the sauerkraut on the bread rather than putting the sauerkraut between the meat and cheese....one side of the bread was completely soggy and fell apart so what I ended up with for my 16.00 sandwich was half of a sauerkraut sandwich with a few pieces of meat. It was disappointing to say the least and not a restaurant I will give another chance. read more

We really want to love this place because we can walk to it and it is veteran owned. We have been twice. On the plus side, the place is very clean, and the staff are friendly. They have a limited menu, and honestly the food is not good. The wings are listed as jumbo wings, and they are very small. I got the pizza, and the crust was very limp. I even sent my pizza back for some extra time in the oven, and the crust still came out limp. The food options are much tastier in Molly McGuire's, the Crow Bar and Basils. A group of six of us had drinks and dinner on Tuesday evening. The service and attention was great. Everyone was very happy with their entrees -- I had the meatball sub sandwich and it was very good.
