Located about a half block from the Tybee Island fishing pier, this bar is a in a very convenient location with great prices for its bar food. It seems to be loved by the locals, as the host welcomed everyone by name as they entered. I ordered the Friday lunch special of fried flounder along with my two side item choices of french fries and potato salad. The special also included Texas toast and sweet tea for fewer than nine dollars. A great deal in my opinion. There is also a full menu available if you prefer. The food arrived approximately ten minutes later and was hot and tasty. I would rank the lunch special in my top two spots as far as bar good in concerned. The host was very attentive and I made new friends while I was there. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food and will return soon.

Tybee Island, Georgia --- "Wind Rose Cafe" is a winner of "best lunch" award & their meat loaf special was okay ... mashed potatoes with picket of gravy was not hot (but not cold ), but the quantity of lima beans & mini meat loaf were quite filling ... PLUS the side of toasted bread was deviously crunchy & tasty ... only $8.25 the bartender was delightfully personable with the customers, whether at bar, ordering on the phone ir sitting at a table ... their sign apparently blew down in a storm, so you gotta know where it's located ... "Wind Rose" sponsors the annual "bartender olympics" each February ... "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! bar 101 "666 Bars of 2017" day 012 "DUSA 2017" (Discover USA) #RunAwayBill #666BarsUSA #DUSA2017 03.06.17

Like this place a lot. Only five beers on tap including Fat Tire and Sam Adams Seasonal. Served in ice cold mugs. Decor is definitely dive bar. Bar has about sixteen stools. Three four tops, three six tops with mismatched table covers. Good burgers - cooked as ordered, good commercial grade fries - also cooked properly, excellent homemade potato salad. Plus it's cheap. Two burgers and three beers came to under $25. Service was fast and friendly. Worth a try.

Fried chicken with potato salad and rice & gravy (plus a sweet tea) and the delicious chicken tenders! All for around $16

I was skeptical to go in because of the mention of smoke in other reviews, but it wasn't too bad (only a few other people were in the bar though.) The bar tender was very friendly. We got our lunch to go and were pleasantly surprised. It was very reasonably priced and better than we expected. The fried chicken was a bit dry, but it was very crispy. The chicken tenders were amazing!

The best Shrimp Gumbo - hands down!!! Situated along the Tybee Island Strip, tucked in between the tourist shops.

Very good meatloaf on Monday. Chicken finger batter was crispy, but fell off after dipping.

Outdoor bar featured live music, which if you were dining on outside deck, you could also enjoy. We have been to Tybee many times, and I have to say..this is one of the best atmosphere's and quality meals we have ever had. Not your typical beach restaurant. Better! Absolutely adding to our rotation for future visits! PS they don't take reservations. Large place, you won't wait too long and it's worth it. We had our fill of outside time, so opted for indoors (same amazing oceanview & AC!) Had a great table by the window, could see the ocean. Our server Jenna H. was witty, attentive and had excellent menu recommendations. They were out of wings, and she suggested chicken tenders that she would have them baste in the wing sauce. Creative solution! The chip trio app is great with salsa, queso & guacamole. We enjoyed very much Asked about the fish & chips, and she said it was one of the most popular menu items because it was excellent. She was right! Fannie's is a huge, 2-story restaurant with so much space right at the edge of the beach. It just calls out to you! So I headed on in. I let a woman at the door know that I wanted to sit upstairs and she directed me to the stairwell on the side of the building. I went up and came across their spacious upper dining room and deck which looked right out on the beach and boardwalk. Such a great oceanside vibe! As soon as I walked up I was greeted by a gentleman who seemed to be a manager of sorts. He guided me over to a table on the deck and left me with a menu. I appreciate not having to sit around looking crazy! Soon, a waitress named Nicki came over to help me. She was a sweetheart! During my visit I had their steamed oysters, rib plate and the frozen lemonade. The steamed oysters were a bittt overcooked but they worked! The ribs were superrr tender but I wish they had some more meat on them, but I was surprised at how tender they were. The frozen lemonade was delicious and super refreshing! I just don't feel like there was enough liquor in it, and I'm not even one to like too much liquor. All in all, a basic experience when it comes to food, but I was really impressed with the level of service I received, the timeliness of my order and the overall vibe of the restaurant. I'd go back if I'm ever on Tybee again!

What you find inside is a nicely appointed restaurant with a beautiful long bar which we highly recommend you eat at. Our bartender Christy was amazing. But more about her later, right now I will talk about the food. We started with the margarita scallops, which was chunks of seared scallops soaked in margarita on toasted wonton chips with a black bean corn, salsa and drizzle with a local aioli, YUM! We also had their fried green tomatoes, which came with apricot horseradish sauce and aoli. Kiki had the catch of the day, which was a grilled piece of grouper atop mediterranean couscous and a medley of mediterranean vegetables. I had the prime rib, which came with lobster Chili Churri butter and a brandy peppercorn sauce. Both entrees were amazing. Now back to our bartender Christie. To say that she wears many hats is an understatement. She greeted us when we sat at the bar, by the way, did I mention that you can reserve seats at the bar? She described the menu items in a way that you only expect to find from a waiter in the finest restaurants in the world. She addressed any and all allergy issues relating to these dishes all the while she is making drinks for patrons at the bar as well as handling the service bar for all the patrons in the restaurant. Without missing a beat, she takes our order.Buses plates from other customers and continues to make drinks for everybody in the restaurant. At this point I think I told her her new nickname should be the Flash. At one point during our dinner, we saw her serve a bottle of wine to another couple at the end of the bar. Her presentation was that of a full wine sommelier with pouring a taste for approval while showing the label of the bottle as she waited for the customers approval then pouring the glasses after approval was given. Do not get the coffee at Sea Wolf Tybee…read more In Sea Wolf's defense, our server told me as such. I ordered coffee, and he practically begged me not to. "Imagine Folgers... but worse," he said. I grew up on Eight O'Clock coffee--the only brand worse than Folgers-- so opted to brave the drip from Sea Wolf Tybee. How bad could it really be? Really bad. The Sea Wolf Tybee coffee was really, really, bad. The owners have made a deal with the barrier island devil where their successful establishment came at the expense of serving the worst coffee on earth. The coffee wasn't just bland, it was reeking with flavor, as if a tybee island horseshoe crab has been decaying in the coffee pot since the eatery was established in 2020. The server tried his hardest to prevent this 4-star review by warning me about the coffee, and in his defense the taste is not why I deducted Sea Wolf Tybee one star. I deducted one star because the vile 12oz cup of black drip coffee was $5 dollars. Like any diner at a lunch spot, I did not check the coffee's price before ordering it, assuming it'd be the standard $2-3 dollars. Even specialty coffee shops max their drip coffee prices at $4.50. Instead, Sea Wolf Tybee has opted to charge $5, rake-in a 95% profit margin, and exploit the trust of patrons who assume a cup of joe won't cost as much as Georgia's hourly minimum wage. I'm a former barista and coffee-lover, and $5 is the most expensive drip coffee I have ever encountered. Sea Wolf Tybee had outdone itself--the bill was more nauseating than the coffee.
