We LOVED this place!! We were on a mission to find all the dog friendly places and this place did not disappoint. You can sit inside or outside with pups. We sat outside but it got chilly, so they quickly let us go inside. An older couple was annoyed that we had dogs and so the staff moved them to another table and apologized to US! As an owner with well behaved dogs I am always so appreciative to be felt like we aren't doing anything wrong. I even told them we can go back outside and they said absolutely not, you're not the problem!! Thank you guys! Now the food!! Also so good, I definitely got my mud bug fix here :) I highly recommend this place!

Fiddlers is on the riverfront. We were trying to kill time waiting for our riverboat so we hopped in here. We sat out on the upper deck. Ordered the gator bites which were yummy. Nice fried outer crust and now we can say we've had alligator tail. Rock crab claws were offered and I'm always up for some crab. Never tried this kind before. You have to hit them with a spoon to break the shell. It is so hard. (Hence..the name rock!) the waiter had to show me how. Very tasty meat inside. Wish they would give you a seafood pick to get it out easier. I also had a few steamed clams. You order them by the single. 2.50 each. ( I've never done that before. I'm from the PNW and we get the by the lb). We enjoyed our lunch very much

We met with some unfortunate and unexpected hurricane weather on our trip to Savannah. Being from the south I wanted to show my Oregon companion what southern hospitality was really like, Fiddlers lived up to expectations. They welcomed us in from the rain with no reservation , were courteous and friendly. We enjoyed libations along with a few choice appetizers and had a delightful time. The oysters were very fresh and tasty, being a wine drinker I never thought ice cold beer could be so satisfying but they proved that correct, and the gator bites were a wonderfully delightful surprise! We can't wait to visit again and try more items on the menu and enjoy more of the wonderful views from their terrace seating.

This place was cute- i wish we got a table upstairs so we could look out to the river. Basic fried food, everything tasted the same. It was decent but my favorite were the gator bites and crab dip.

Fiddler's is a classic restaurant near the Riverwalk in Savannah and I was excited to try it. When we first walked in we were greeted right away and made to feel very welcome which gave us a great first impression. Unfortunately things kind of went downhill after that. Our waitress took quite a while to refill our waters and the service felt a little slow overall. I ordered the mahi tacos and they came out cold like they may have been prepared too early and sat while the rest of our party's food was being finished. We did have a group of 8 so maybe that played a part but it was still disappointing. The mahi tacos were okay 5.8/10.

My parents and I stopped into Fiddlers Crab House looking for some good seafood meals as we were staying at a nearby hotel. Upon walking in we noticed that they had reserve signs on just about ever table and basically the only thing open was the bar. Fortunately a waitress quickly came over and yanked a sign off a table we were near and she said we could sit. She came back with menus and took our drink order. We noticed others were coming in looking at the reserved signs and seemed confused like us but they were all assured they could go ahead and sit as well. It took a little while for our drinks to arrive and our waitress to come back but I think it was due to an influx of guests and maybe not enough staff at the time. Being from Maryland we love anything to do with blue crab and find it hard to get good crab cakes or crab items outside of Maryland. So when we saw Fried Blue Crab claw appetizer we had to try it. Unfortunately we were let down again. These were the tiniest claws I have ever seen. My Shrimp Po'boy was good. The shrimp were delicious and the roll was tasty. Mom enjoyed her fried oysters and shrimp but dad gambled and lost on the crab stuffed flounder. He said he couldn't taste any crab. Overall it's a nice little spot to grab a meal.

Fiddler's is located on the riverfront/River Street. We came for lunch around 1:30, and were seated immediately. Balcony seating is available but it was a 15 minute wait and we didn't care if we ate inside or out. The decor is seafood and sailor oriented. The bricks walls showed the age of the building, which was cool. The sweet tea was good. We ordered gator bites for our appetizer. They were delicious, the breading was really tasty and the dipping sauce was so good. For our entrees, my husband got a shrimp po'boy with fries, and I got a crabcake sandwich with potato salad. We tried each other's sandwiches and we both really liked both of them. The potato salad was creamy and flavorful. I would highly recommend Fiddler's for a riverfront lunch!

We were seated immediately outside and it was a fabulous view. The night was beautiful and the atmosphere was amazing. For apps we got oysters on the half shell that were delicious, the blue crab quesadillas and steamed crawfish. For main entrees we got the seafood platter and the low country boil. All the food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. For dessert we got the key lime pie and the peach cobbler both are delicious!! A great place to go and enjoy the evening in River street.

This restaurant overlooks the river. The second floor patio is where you want to be. Great for people watching!! Food was great definitely go if you like seafood. Service was good too. The clam chowder comes with two hushpuppies I thought that was a great touch

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

Arrived to see a much more limited menu than their normal menu that we were excited about. I ordered blackened shrimp basket, my boyfriend had the low country boil, and my friend had the mahi sandwich. We also came for oysters and came to see that they only were offering just one style of oysters. They came out small and with no accompaniments aside from lemon. It was hard to stomach paying $42 for 12 tiny oysters (later seeing their prices were actually upcharged from their normal menu). Service was fine. They were attentive but seemed disorganized and comfused because we had two different servers come to take our orders at different times. At one point they ended up bringing us our waters and drink order twice. The good: Beautiful location on the water perfect for scenery and people watching. The cocktail we had was pretty delicious. All in all the food was just fine. Best dish was probably my blackened shrimp. We probably won't return even for an off holiday trip because the small amount of food for the upcharged prices were not worth it.

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.

Sitting along the river while watching massive cargo ships slowly make their way toward the Atlantic creates one of those uniquely Savannah experiences you simply can't find anywhere else. Our server, Matthew, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like his is a big part of what turns a great meal into an unforgettable one. Now, the food... The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--easily 95% lump crab with barely any filler. Just fresh, sweet crab prepared perfectly. The beef carpaccio was elegant, incredibly flavorful, and disappeared far too quickly. Then came the French onion soup. There's a reason the National Onion Association recognized it as the best. Rich, deeply caramelized, perfectly balanced, and topped with a blanket of bubbling cheese. Without question, the best French onion soup I've ever had. The black truffle scallops were buttery, tender, and absolutely decadent. The evening's special--a blackened filet paired with shrimp linguine--was phenomenal. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp linguine brought bold Cajun flavors that made us feel like we had been transported straight to Louisiana. To finish it all off, watching enormous cargo ships leave the Port of Savannah bound for destinations around the world while enjoying an incredible meal is an experience all its own. Vic's on the River delivered on every level: exceptional food, first-class service, and an atmosphere that's impossible to duplicate. This wasn't just another dinner--it was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. Don't leave without ordering the French onion soup. The lobster soup was the best of all we ordered and it was pretty mediocre. No sherry, cream, nor lobster to be found. The tuna was the worst I've ever had and should not be served. Really I should've sent it back, but my son dug in first and ate two pieces, so I felt bad sending it back. I begrudgingly ate my two pieces while my wife only had one. The deviled eggs had overcooked shrimp and a spec of prosciutto. The crab cake was tiny and mediocre. Finally, the mahi dish was maybe a 3 ounce portion with bits of pineapple scattered around basic orzo pasta. The fact that the majority of the few patrons there all ordered fried chicken and Mac n cheese should've been a hint. The restaurant may be by the water, but they are NOT a seafood restaurant. Oh and they charged me 4 extra dollars for "rocks" since I ordered Bourbon on the rocks. We had a shit meal and two drinks each for $175!!! There were a good number of shrimp in the serving. The Crab Cake Sandwich was good. It was not as full of lump crab meat as other crab cakes that we've had elsewhere. The Catfish Fingers were large pieces of catfish that were lightly fried. The Shrimp Poboy was satisfying. The Parmesan Garlic Grits were disappointing. There was no hint of garlic or parmesan flavor. Our server tried to rectify the situation by adding cheddar cheese to it. Fortunately, the Beignets were as good as we expected. Huey's is the only place outside of New Orleans where we have found authentic New Orleans beignets. Our server Jenelle was very friendly.
