Service was impeccable, every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the best meals we've had in Savannah in years.

Went this past Thursday before an American Legion meeting to have dinner and couldn't have enjoyed my time there any better. This is a very fine place with delicious food and a staff that is amazing. Was able to easily walk in without reservations which is beyond nice and get seated in the main dining area. The decor is fun with original art on the walls. They bring a focaccia out to start which is devine. I got their Vietnamese shrimp crepe which is light but full of flavor and then had their lamb ragu pasta starter size. It was perfect and its flavor is explosive and delicious. If you get the chance you have r to give them a try, they really are a gem of the city.

Absolutely a great experience. Customer service was top-tier.. the decor and ambience is very nice. The food choices are limited, however delicious. We ordered wine top that was quality, a half a chicken entrée as well as a steak entrée. Very fulfilling I definitely would be back.

There is nothing better then a simple one page menu we're everything looks great. And local 11ten did just that. Loved the modern yet chic look. It brings very simple dishes that just take a step up, such as the Caesar salad. One of the best salads I've ever had. Highly recommend for your next date night

This was probably my least fav restaurant in Savannah. It was FREEZING inside with the air with the A/C turned up all the way. They turned it off, but then somehow it came back on again. Our food came out semi warm. I was looking forward to the soup to warm me up, but it wasn't hot at all and the bread was burnt. The best thing on the menu was the tuna crudo, ceasar salad, and the complimentary bread that they give you. The server was knowledgeable about all the specials, but she didn't seem the friendliest and talked too fast to where we had to ask her to repeat what she said. Lastly, the bathroom was out of paper towels so we had to use tissues to dry our hands - for a restaurant like this they really need to do better. I would not come back, there are just too many other good restaurants to eat at in Savannah...so you can def skip this one!

Excellent food and great drinks. I went there with my husband and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is lovely. Good ambience. It was pretty empty when we went since our reservation was at 5pm but by the time we left it was very busy. Can't wait to go back to Savannah and have another wonderful meal at this restaurant.

Get the Caesar salad you will not regret it. And the halibut as well. One of my favorite meals in this lifetime. The pasta is also really good if the halibut isn't available since it's seasonal

Not officially but it's an upscale sort of place so most folks look nice. It's not a "jackets required" stuffy place though, it's modern and trendy so you see a little of everything.

Unfortunately, my experience last night left a bad taste in my mouth. We were seated in the lower dining room. Everything was going well with good service and delicious drinks... and then I spotted a cockroach crawling under our table. Of course, we are in the south & I am willing to overlook the odd roach here and there. However, when a second one emerged from the hallway, my confidence that this was just a one-off incident tanked. By the time our food arrived, our focus had been diverted to be on roach alert. Unfortunately, the food also missed the mark--overly salty and bland at the same time. None of this aligns with The Public I know and love, so I am really hoping this was just an off night. Might be taking a break from this place for a while.

It…read morewas difficult to pick a restaurant to have dinner at, because there's so many great choices in Savannah, but seeing that the minds behind Common Thread were recently semifinalists for Best Chef SE through the James Beard Awards, it ended up being my choice. I'm absolutely glad I picked it. Walking in, we were greeted with smiles. The house/restaurant was stunning. It was quirky but still had its charm. We were escorted to our table, which was an odd little table halfway up the stairs, away from everyone. We were told that table was meant of anniversaries/intimate events. It felt awkward at first but it ended up being fun people watching and listening in to conversations as people walked by. Colton was our server. He was great. Extremely knowledgeable. He walked us through the menu, offered great suggestions on food and wine, did a proper wine service, and even properly pronounced the region in which the wine was from. Colton definitely made us feel special and gave us an incredible experience. I'll definitely give it to Common Thread. The knowledge in which every staff member presented was incredible. As every person dropped off an item at the table, they accurately described the dish in detail before they walked away. I've been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years; serving, bartending, and managing numerous different types of restaurants, from casual to fine dining. I've opened up a few restaurants and have been a trainer as well. Common Thread is operating at a high level in terms of the staff's ability. The food: incredible. We started with one of each oyster, and it was insane how much flavor was packed in them. Our first course was also accompanied with the hand roll and the apple beet salad. The hand roll was fantastic. The beet salad felt like it needed some sort of acid/citrus with it, but still had great flavor. Course two was the mushroom cannelloni and the orecchiette. Both were phenomenal. My wife was obsessed with the cannelloni, the butternut squash puree was a perfect accompaniment. The pesto/parmesan foam on the orecchiette was an excellent touch. Course three we went against Colton's suggestion for the pork chop (almost got both, we were stuffed), and got the Ribeye. Great char, cooked perfectly. The peppercorn jus was an excellent topper for it. For dessert, we opted for the sticky toffee pudding. Although it wasn't sticky, the ginger pairing with it was an excellent touch. This is one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant. This will be a staple for us whenever we're back in Savannah and will definitely be asking for Colton again. He is the kind of server I'd like to have at my restaurant. Props to Common Thread, props to Colton.

Without going into excessive detail about our extensive notes (because everything is subjective and I don't want this review to sound super negative), we found the dishes were fine-to-good . . . but not quite where we thought they should be given the vaunted reputation of the establishment. (I'll note that from the reviews here and the professional reviewer buzz, our take is a minority one.) One thing I'll say in favor of Common Thread: my wife ordered a dish with which she has a lot of experience and the version the restaurant served (while made of high quality ingredients) was not of the preparatory style that she was expecting. The server noted she did not eat it and simply took it off the tab - well and professionally done.

This place delivers! We had a 6:45 reservation, showed up right on time and were seated immediately. Benjamin introduced himself and helped us find some drinks that we loved, the Polaris and the Castor. After he went over the evening's specials, he helped guide us through our selections for the night. Having some un-inspired oysters earlier in the week, we decided to do two of each of the three oysters of the night. They were perfectly cold, deliciously briny and expertly shucked. We added just a drop of minuet juice but the oysters were so clean and crisp, we didn't want to cover up any of the fresh taste. The winter salad was simple but delicious. The lamb and chicken were both tender and perfectly seasoned. The Wagyu had an amazing crust that added texture to a simple slice of beef and the cornbread dressing with scallops was an original take on familiar flavors playing well off each other. We ended with a lovely olive oil lemon cake. You can feel the love in the ingredients, the presentation and the service at The Grey.

Very hard not to make it chewy. Great char and sauce that accompanied it. For entrees, we did the Perloo, an amazing interpretation, and a swordfish. Both dishes were immaculately prepared and perfectly sized. We chose a bottle of Loss and Lehn, something we had never tried before but recommended based on what we had ordered. Finally, I just asked her to come up with a solution because we had 15 minutes to kill and they didn't have a waiting area. Funny enough, she decided then to get our table ready. It was just odd. Our server was from Ukraine so she was efficient and fast. Not super friendly or chatty with us which missed the mark on Southern hospitality and made our experience feel cold compared to our previous dinner experiences in town. I don't fault her for it though as she did her job. We ordered an excessive amount of starters and some of the entrees. The stand outs for me was the crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted bone marrow, steamed mussels, and grilled octopus. Skip any of the bread options. They weren't even toasted. For entrees, we also decided to share them. The pork chop and NY strip were stand outs. We ended up sending back the halibut. It tasted mealy and freeze burnt. Skip the crispy Japanese eggplant. I was expecting a grilled dish and it was actually fried with a thick batter. Too heavy for my liking. Overall, we enjoyed our meal but not somewhere I am dying to go back to.

We were sat in what I believe used to be a front parlour, by a window over looking the street. We had a dual service with one person being the "main" server, his name was Michael. He was in charge of giving us the spiel and answering our questions. A woman (I forget her name, sorry! But she was lovely) was in charge of running the food and clearing the plates. It was a very well run machine. The menu is pre set, but there were choices on some of the courses, like course where an option was a soft shelled crab - I definitely wanted to take advantage of that! We started off with Biscuits with butter and homemade orange marmalade, these were delightful, so fluffy and soft, and the marmalade was sweet, not bitter like it sometimes can be. The Amuse bouche was a trio of tiny items: a pimento cheese tart, a mussel with chipotle sauce and panko, and a square of salmon with mild wasabi and ginger. The salmon was definitely my favorite. The fifth course had a special as I noted before, so I opted to go for that, it was a soft shell crab with garlic, herbs and a vidalia onion slaw. Topped with peanuts and a white wine sauce. I think my favorite course of them all was the scallops with the carrots and the whipped ricotta - so simple but so delicious! Phenomenal special occasion place or just to cross off your bucket list. If I am in Savannah again (and the likelihood is high, its such an amazing city), I will be back.
