Burrata
Emily W.

Oh gosh where to start other than how amazing this restaurant is. We came on a Sunday night and were seated outside right away. Thankfully they have fans outside so it can blow directly onto you so we sat comfy throughout our meal. For drinks I can't remember what I got but it was fantastic. We got the burrata which is a super small appetizer to split between two people but that's about it. However it was tasty and I'm kind of glad of how small it was so it didn't ruin dinner. Our server was great and was able to help us narrow down our choices and so happy they suggested the butterfish because it was the best fish I've had in a long time. The salsa pairing was perfect and the rice was a coconut type of rice that just made you feel like you were on a beach. The plantains were also good but the fish was the real star. I would highly recommend people come here and I definitely would try it again if I was in the area just to try another one of their amazing looking dishes.

Pork Loin

This was a very nice dinner spot! We learned that the menu changes every so often, so I would recommend looking at the menu on their website. The bartender said they were changing it in a couple weeks and the only thing that stays the same is the shrimp and grits and some variation of burger (different toppings). The ricotta gnocchi was a very light tasting meal, though it was very filling. The gnocchi was very soft, which I didn't particularly love, but the sausage on top was a great addition for some sort of protein (sausage came with the meal - not added). The shrimp and grits was very nice. The sauce was very smooth and creamy. The pork loin was cooked great, no pink, and was still very juicy. The sauce on top was also creamy and meshed well with the pork. There was bar seating, seating next to the bar by the window, a downstairs seating area, and outdoor seating (great if you have a dog). I wish I could give this place a 4.5, but they are definitely still deserving of a 5. I would definitely come back here!

Tomato bisque

Hands down one of my favorite spots in Georgia. Their Savannah Shrimp & Grits is ultra creamy, rich, generously seasoned, with plump, juicy shrimp - the kind of dish you keep thinking about every single day after you try it. It was so good that on our final day in town, we came back just to see it again. The Savory Brined Grilled Pork also left us pleasantly surprised - it's so tender! On our second visit, we tried to be adventurous and ordered the Seafood Mac and Seared Salmon. They were okay. We should've stayed loyal. (When a dish is that good, don't cheat on it.) Also, if the server offers a Soup of the Day that involves the words "tomato" and "bisque," nod your head, say yes, get it. It's a super comforting and yummy appetizer. Ambiance felt perfect for date night. Service was a bit of a gamble, with some servers super attentive and others going MIA. Moral of the story: if you come here, order the shrimp & grits. And if you're smart, order it again.

We loved this beautiful restaurant with great outdoor seating both on the ground level and roof. Really nice non alcoholic and alcoholic cocktail list. My shrimp feaux boy sandwich was delicious as was the street corn salad. Our server was super friendly and fun. By Savannah standards it wasn't too expensive. Definitely will go back!

Enjoyed dinner on the outdoor patio! We started with cocktails - Hot Pants (amazing) and Green Monster (good if you like cucumber). For dinner, we had the NY Strip steak (highly recommend), pasta Bolognese, shrimp and grits, and smothered pork loin. Everything was really good, but the steak stole the show.

The service was great and loved the ambience. The food was good as well. The kids had chicken tenders and fries while my husband and I split the Reuben sandwich with truffle fries.

Friends of ours told us to visit The public while in Savannah. The meal and service did not disappoint. They sat on the outdoor deck upstairs with live music, which was very enjoyable. I had the shrimp and grits in my husband had Hawaiian butterfish , both were deliciously prepared! Enjoy

Service was very friendly and I enjoyed outdoor dining in this location. The food was good, although my burger was overcooked. Despite very friendly service it was a bit slow. I'd return and try other things and for sure an easy go-to in the downtown area!

This is THE best food my husband and I have ever had, and we are avid food lovers. We got the duck confit and the shrimp and grits, along with a side of garlic whipped potatoes and the Crimson Supernova cocktail. The duck is slow cooked in its own fat for three days, if I'm remembering what the waitress said correctly. It was so tender that it fell apart with barely a touch of my knife. It was flavored immaculately and paired with toasted farro, roasted potatoes and carrots, and an apricot chutney. After the first bite, I could have fallen over, it was so delicious. The shrimp and grits had a rich, creamy sauce with a slight spiciness to it and depth of flavor that I can't even explain with words. There were pieces of sausage and grape tomato in the sauce that elevated it even further, and the grits almost had a whipped texture to them. The garlic mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. They weren't as light as I had expected, but they had an even, heavy garlic flavor throughout with a perfect amount of pepper to add that full-bodied depth to a dish. Lastly, the drink: I've never had anything like it. I don't like cinnamon too much, but there was an almost powdery cinnamon sugar rim that wasn't too strong. The drink was very tart and shocking at the first sip, but by the second, I was in love. It had a fruity and flowery taste that meshed so insanely well with the mezcal smokiness. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant so that I could keep coming back. There was also a live performer named Cyril Durant that was playing guitar and singing while we were there, and I could not believe how amazing his voice was. Lastly, the atmosphere was sublime. The temperature was cool with a breeze, and it had just gotten dark outside when we got there. We sat on the roof and just looked over the city streets with the ambient lighting from the restaurant and street lamps and couldn't have been happier. Coming here is a memory that my husband and I will never forget.

First time here and was able to get a rooftop seat. Had a musician playing good music. Service was awesome. Had the Public Burger. Ordered it medium, was overcooked to medium-well and a little dry. Good flavor though. Fries on point, beer cold.

Slightly upscale restaurant in downtown Savannah. Portions are small but the taste and presentation is very good. We enjoyed our time here and looking to come back again.

Castaway handcrafted cocktail. So tasty! And strong too.

Outstanding restaurant!!! The service was wonderful! Our servers were very kind, friendly and attentive. The ambiance was relaxed. And the food was sheer perfection! I had the Castaway cocktail. Yummy times five!! Our servers spoke highly of the shrimp and grits dish and mentioned that it won an award. Well I see why it did!!! I ate it slowly because I didn't want it to end. Lol If you visit Savannah, eat here and thank me later.

The Public Kitchen what a few steps down from where I was visiting in Savannah so I stopped in for dinner on my last day. I came early afternoon and decided to sit outside. I highly recommending sitting on the terrace to look out over the street. I ordered the shrimp and grits and a glass of wine. The shrimp & grits were so good, some of the best I've ever had. I there's a choice, choose the shrimp & grits; no regrets.

Home of Savannah's most awarded burger!…read more Green Truck may be one of the best burgers in Savannah, and they have many certificates of recognition hanging along the walls. This small restaurant offers big flavors with local ingredients and grass-fed beef from a local farm. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating along with a few spots at the bar. Service is quick and staff is helpful when substitutions are needed - gluten free bun or veggie patties are available. My personal favorite is the Rustico burger with a smooth goat cheese, balsamic caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and fresh basil. It offers a perfectly balanced sweet and savory bite. Their homemade ketchup is also delicious - nothing like you are accustom to. Also try the Pimento cheese plate - a southern classic. A perfect pairing with the tart pickles!

I ordered a veggie burger done Greek Style (Feta, olive tapenade, banana peppers, cucumber slices, L,T,O). The sandwich was great, but I had to ask for some mayo because it was a bit on the dry side, the olive tapanade was working hard but it was no match for all of those ingredients together. Good place, I would come back to try other stuff off the menu

The place has a great local vibe and a busy, energetic atmosphere. The cashier was pleasant, respectful, and gave excellent recommendations. It's definitely a hidden gem off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out--clearly a spot both locals and well-researched visitors find. Loved the local artwork for sale on the walls, which added to the character of the space. Everything about the experience felt authentic and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're nearby and want a solid, memorable lunch.

Ok, this is one of the first places in Savannah where the price matched with the portion. $3.75 for a slider and $1.50 for half tray of fries. Also $1 for a side of ranch, but can't complain it was a big portion of ranch. We ordered just the regular sliders, one without veggies (for me) and one with veggies (for my girlfriend). The patties themselves were flavorful, but it was really just the patty, I barely noticed the bacon. Bacon cut could've been thicker, or another piece of bacon; to make the layers for distinct. My girlfriend said she didn't realize there was bacon, she did enjoy the slider however. The fries were so good. It kind of reminds me of the In-n-Out well-done fries; superrrr crisp. The ranch was really good too, garlicky a little, and thick consistency. The service was fast and nice. We were one of the first people in, so everything moved smoothly. The ambience is very homey feeling, like I'm eating in someone's home - which I enjoyed. I don't like when a burger spot tries to glorify the inside even though they're just burgers. To sum it up: If the slider had a thicker slice of bacon on the burger, not really thick, maybe the thickness of 2 pieces of bacon just to get the difference textures, this would be 5/5.
