Visiting Savannah for the first time, our tour guide recommended that we check out Crystal Beer Parlor, and boy, did she steer us in the right direction! Since we were visiting during Oktoberfest, we decided to try the Jäger Schnitzel, and it was absolutely delicious! The portion was generous and easily big enough to split between two people. For dessert, we ordered the peach cobbler, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it may have been the best I've ever had! The warm peaches, crunchy crumb topping, and scoop of vanilla ice cream were an absolutely heavenly combination. I'm still thinking about it! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our first visit even better. If you're looking for a laid-back, classic beer parlor atmosphere with delicious food and great service, this is the place to go. Whether you're a local or just visiting Savannah, I highly recommend stopping by read more

Crystal Beer Parlor - GEORGIA PEACH COBBLER - Southern Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

I've seen Crystal Beer Parlor shirts numerous times, even when I've visited other states, and I've passed by it a few times and finally decided to give it a try. My husband and I stopped by Sunday for lunch. The hostess was nice, got sat immediately, our waitress was nice and helped us decide on some gluten free options. They had lots of drink options, we both got a cider. They were ok. The food however, I don't get the hype. The crab dip was basically just cream cheese - wayyyyy too creamy, we couldn't finish it. Portions are huge too. The burger, dry and crumbly. No sauce. It was underwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. Now that we've been, probably won't be back. Inside was clean and they have their own parking lot which is a plus though. read more

What a fantastic hidden gem! This was a 3 minute walk from VRBO! I would not have thought about going based on exterior, but read about the Ocktoberfest, and decided to get a try! Inside was a total pleasant surprise! So welcoming! The service was amazing! Food was great! Only disappointment was they were out of the Bratwurst on the first day! I look forward to my next visit! read more

Ive been on a mission lately; to find the best burger in Savannah, Hilton Head, Bluffton area. Not a smash burger. They do have one on the menu, but that's not my mission right now. Went today for the first time. THE VERY BEST TRADITIONAL BURGER IN SAVANNAH. I got the mountain jam. completely devoured it. Friendly bartender. a little run down, but the place is old and has charm. Glad to see they use Heinz, and the fries were pretty good too. Also, very easy parking, they have their own lot! read more

Everyone raved about the food here so I was excited to finally try it. I ordered the pastrami Ruben. It wasn't terrible but I wasn't impressed. It was soaking wet. I figured it was an off day so I went back and ordered the pimento pig on another day which I didn't like either. Maybe it's just me! Service was okay. read more

We went on a Saturday night in January and waited about 30 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, we ordered quickly and the food was on the table within 15 minutes. The food was hot and fresh. I mean the French fries burned my tongue! (But in a good way). Neither my companion nor I loved the coleslaw as we are very picky about our coleslaw. But everything else was delicious. Our server was great too but I can't recall her name. They got the tables cleaned quickly for the next guests to come in. Very much enjoyed our visit and our yummy food. ***We had ordered takeout from here about 15 months ago and that is why we decided to come back. Two great meals and we will be back when visiting Savannah again. read more

We stopped by Crystal Beer Parlor after church, and it was exactly the kind of place you hope to land on a busy day. Yes, it was very busy--but in the best way. Lots of locals, a steady buzz, and a lively atmosphere without ever feeling rushed. The service was solid and efficient, and despite how packed it was, we never felt hurried out the door. That alone is worth noting. The food delivered. My burger was tasty, well-cooked, and satisfying in that classic pub-grill way. Nothing overcomplicated--just done right. The sides were a hit too, and most importantly, the kids were happy. That's always the real test. The menu is approachable, the vibe is relaxed, and it's genuinely kid-friendly without feeling like a "kids place." This is a casual, dependable Savannah staple--great for families, great for locals, and easy to see why people keep coming back. We would absolutely return. read more

Two words: duck wings. Excellent burger sit at the bar. If you can't get a table, it's worth it and the service is really fast. Plenty of good drafts as well as signature cocktails. This is one of my go to places just because of the nature of the crystal beer parlor. I know it's crowded all the time but if you can get in there, it really is a great atmosphere especially when friends visit from out of town. read more

Got there right as it opened and followed in a mess of police officers heading for lunch. That should tell you something. The room was old-timey, but nicer than I expected to see. Bathrooms were clean. Service was on-it and management was circulating the whole time we were there. Great beer and cocktail list, good prices and quite a varied menu of the kind of local stuff you want - but not done in a shi-shi way. The food was good and the service and drinks were great. read more

What a great Savannah restaurant! Great food. Great indoor outdoor seating. Amazing service. I had a great local beer and a huge chicken tenders salad. We all shared an appetizer. The restaurant is large, taking into consideration the indoor area and very large area for dining outside. The Crystal Beer Palace was a great place to enjoy our last night in Savannah. read more

We heard great things about Crystal Beer Parlor and knew we had to stop in during our weekend trip to Savannah. It was quite busy when we got there so we put our name in and grabbed a drink at the bar. They have a little gift shop and outdoor seating area where you can sit while you wait so it made the time go quickly. Our table was ready before the time they quoted us and our server greeted us promptly. Service was quick and our food came out fast for how many tables were filled. We got the pretzel thats as big as a steering wheel (the menu says that) and the crab puppies (I think that was the name) for apps. Both were delicious. We got an assortment of entrees at the table, burger, some seafood, etc. Everything was hot, tasted fresh and we enjoyed it all. We had a great experience and would definitely return next time we're in town. read more

If you are ever in Savannah, Georgia, I strongly recommend this long-standing establishment. Great atmosphere and great food. I had a cheeseburger with guacamole, bacon, onions, and a sriracha mayonnaise with onion rings. Fantastic. The service was friendly and the place has a cool overall ambiance. The Crystal Beer Parlor is a mist stop in Savannah (at least in my opinion). Do not miss this place. read more

Really a 3.75. Came around 7:50 and they close at 9 (our bad) no reservations so add your name to the list and get a buzzer. Was told it would be around 30 minutes, at 8:30 I asked my partner to check on our place and he was told she scratched our name off the list...why? Our buzzer hadn't been buzzed, name hadn't been called etc. When we were finally seated service was smooth. I got the sweet shrimp with fries and coleslaw. My partner got the burger although it came basically naked the waitress quickly took it back for the correct toppings. Both meals tasted great and I was happy the late dining time didn't affect the quality. Took the peach cobbler to go and it was super warm and yummy. The space is very large with plenty of seating and tables outside to hang while you wait and do expect a wait. read more

First time here and came as a walk-in party of 2. There was a bit of the wait so we found spots at the bar and had a few drinks and the fried pickles app to start. They were delicious and came out piping hot! Once we got seated I ordered the salmon BLT with a side of mash and my husband got the pastrami sand which with fries. Food came out super quick and the portions were generous. These were some of the best sandwiches we have ever had! Probably will come back while we are still in town! read more

This place is right outside of the beaten path, but so worth the visit. Mainly went for the stuffed crab and it was everything that was raved about in other reviews. (Do be mindful of little shells, but it's worth picking out of your mouth for the amount of lumpy crabmeat, spices, and such.) The fried shrimp were the best we had in Savannah! They were huge and perfectly fried as were the oysters. The service was super friendly and helpful having gone above and beyond to help us find a recipe for Chatham Artillery Punch that had been alluding us for three days! This is a don't miss, but remember your personal capability around the digestion of large amounts of fried foods. read more

I have been waiting YEARS to come here!!!! Finally made it on this trip. It's not directly in the "touristy" area so we took an uber to avoid a 30 min walk. Worth the short ride. The she crab stew was PHENOMENAL. Order it! You will not be disappointed. My husband had the fried oysters and loved them. Large menu- something for everyone and very solid kids menu as well. I had no room for desert but was dying to try the fried pound cake. (In hindsight, I should have gotten it to go and eaten it throughout the weekend- next time) My husband thoroughly enjoyed their beer and bourbon selection. And prices were extremely reasonable. Definitely check it out. read more

We heard this was a popular place to eat in Savannah, so we knew we had to try it during our time here. We tried to come around 7:00pm on a Friday night, but the wait was an hour long. They do not take reservations. So we tried our luck again during the lunch hour the following Sunday. No problem getting a table then. Our server was friendly and very informative when we had questions about the menu. The Shrimp and Grits were excellent and full of flavor. Fried Green Tomatoes and the Creamy Crab Stew were tasty. I'm not well-versed in true Southern cuisine so this was my first time really trying all of the above. It did not disappoint! The Peach Cobbler lives up to its reputation and we left no crumbs on the plate. The ambiance is cozy and not too dimly lit. I'll definitely return if I'm ever in the Savannah area again. read more

Spousal Unit and I were in town to visit friends and watch a Savannah Banans game (OK, technically Firefighters vs Party Animals - but we're seated behind a few Bananas. Watching the game. Fun!). Friends took us to Crystal for lunch before the game. We sat at the bar, enjoyed some local brews on tap, and had a nice meal. I ordered off their Oktoberfest menu: the bratwurst platter with sauerkraut. (I was set to order their shrimp and grits but I figured I could get that ANYWHERE in Savannah. Turns out I was wrong, but that's another story). Brats were good, kraut was properly tangy, and my extra side of red beans and rice was delicious. Spousal Unit surprised my by ordering the Shrimp Salad sandwich (generally not her go-to). She really liked the seasoning on the very fresh shrimp, pronounced it "yummy". Ambiance was nice, people were friendly, beer was cold, and our friends picked up the tab. Who could ask for anything more? read more

After a long day hoofing around town in the heat, I wanted a cold beer. I was able to sit immediately at the bar. The drinks menu is longer than some places' food menu and on the front page of beers on tap, those made in Georgia and in Savannah are helpfully marked. I ordered a nice local lager and the shrimp salad sandwich. I appreciated the long list of choices for sides, more than just fries and sweet potato fries. There was Cole slaw and greens and I had the cornbread. Service was fast and accurate. At least two of the bartenders checked on me from time to time. I would have had a second beer if I hadn't been so tired already with a long walk back to the car still ahead of me. The dining room was not terribly noisy, and it was more than half full in the middle of the afternoon. I wish there was something besides golf on the tv, but I guess I didn't watch it anyway. Would eat here again. read more

It generally gets good reviews so I may have gone there on a bad day. I wasn't overly impressed. Ignore the Yelp prices and check their menu for a nice 20%+ increase. The bartender didn't smile once. We ordered a Reuben, as shown. The sandwich was pretty good. The fries were soggy. Would I go again, probably not. read more

Walked in for lunch during a busy weekend in Savannah. Bonaventure Don recommended this restaurant at the end of our cemetery tour and provided a coupon for a free appetizer/dessert. They also had a wide selection of beers, including items from local breweries. We tried a local sour and immediately visited the brewery (Two Tides Brewing Co.) after our lunch. My table of three shared a salad, shrimp and grits, crab soup, and complimentary peach cobbler. The crab soup was incredible-- we absolutely considered ordering another one. The shrimp and grits was not super warm, but the dish was packed with shrimp and sausage. This was definitely the best restaurant from our trip! read more

Yet another local favorite. This is one I recommend to local friends as well as people visiting from out of town. It's a fantastic ambiance inside - old posters and newspaper articles dating back decades, showing the history of the place. The food is awwww-some. Shrimp and grits are my favorite here. The beer list is amazing, but I have to say for me, the shrimp and grits are the star of the show. Staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great for anything from a date, to taking the family, to a lovely time with a few friends. Definitely recommend this place, all day, every day. Oh - and they have a parking lot - bonus for that part of town! Parking has never been a problem any time I've gone. read more

Don't pass it up. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Tremendous beer selection.

Walked in for lunch around 2:00 had to wait five minutes for a table which wasn't very long. Seated in a comfy red booth. The friendly waitress took drink order while we studied the menu. My husband and I decided to share the green fried tomatoes appetizer which were delicious and crunchy. We also shared the Turkey club with roasted turkey, lettuce, tomato and bacon. So fresh and tasty. It was accompanied with sweet potato waffle fries. We were so full but decided to order the peach cobbler which was written up as the best in Savannah. It didn't disappoint. Served warm, crunchy and flavorful along with vanilla ice cream. read more

Experience a setting back to Prohibition era - Savanna style with this unique beer (and full liquor) parlor. It has been in continuous operation since 1933 and has been patronized by many hollywood A listers as well as the three stooges. Yes, that's moe/larry/curley with photo proof hanging throughout. I started with a refreshing Tybee island rum cocktail then enjoyed a delicious fried green tomato appetizer. The Turkey club was perfectly toasted and comprised fresh off-the-bone carved turkey! It was supplemented with sweet potato waffle fries. Finally, don't forget to leave room for the Georgia famous peach cobbler a-la-mode for dessert as recommended by our waitress Eileen. read more

This beer parlor is a sight to see. The Great Gal and I started with ice cold local hazy IPA. The wait was for over an hour so we found a seat at the bar to have drinks and dinner. The moment we arrived at the bar to sit down and order our drinks, we were met with a welcoming of contempt and unwelcoming hospitality. The energy felt more like one of only accepting locals or only accepting non-minority customers. The bartender looked visibly unpleasant and not very polite. He wasn't outright rude but it felt unfriendly and uncomfortable. That energy carried on for the entire time. The plate I ordered was underwhelming. The crab meat was flavorful but that was the extent of that. The fried fish needed more seasoning. My daughter ordered the soup and salad. I will say the crab soup was super delicious. The soup was the highlight of that visit. The beer tap options are great. I was very pleased with their blonde ale, but I wouldn't visit again sadly. read more

I was solo traveling through Savannah and this place came highly recommended. It was a great way to get out of the heat. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The portion was huge and I could only eat half. The waitress I had was very friendly, checked on me often and ensured I had all that I needed during my visit. One of our favorite stops while visiting Savannah! So much so that we ate here twice!!! It's a lively, unpretentious place... we felt very comfortable. We opted to sit at the bar, which I highly recommend... the bartenders are awesome and great conversationalists... Shawn was GREAT!!! First stop I had the sweet, tangy, and somewhat spicy duck wings. Yum, where have these been my whole life? LOL! My wife had a cup of she crab stew, which was creamy, thick, and buttery (more like a chowder). Crab was pretty forward in the taste profile... it's very rich though, a cup is probably plenty. Then I had shrimp and grits for my meal, tender sweet shrimp cooked perfectly in a bed of creamy, cheesy grits flavored with bell pepper and a bit of spice. Delicious. My wife had the flounder Ruben, and it was spectacular. She also had them make her a lemon drop martini that was so good she got one to go! Second night my wife ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the two seafood platter with blackened shrimp, deviled crab, Savanna Red Rice, and collard greens. The shrimp were amazing, sweet and cooked perfectly. I didn't care for the deviled crab... lots of filling, not much crab and just a strange flavor profile with mushy texture, the red rice was a decent side, and the collard greens were smoky and done well. Should have went with a different option than the deviled crab, but otherwise a solid meal. We finished by splitting a peach cobbler, and this might have been one of the best things we ate all trip... highly recommend! read more
