We stayed at the Alida during St Patrick's day weekend and were given two vouchers for breakfast at the Rhett. The first morning, we elected to bring our food to our room and the staff was able to accommodate us which was nice. The second morning, we ate at the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, the decor and ambiance picture worthy, especially the bar. I enjoyed the banana bread and shoestring fries, although they were slightly salty for my taste. The burger was huge and filling and the flavor was okay. I wanted to order a Bloody Mary but was informed that Savannah law doesn't allow alcohol purchases before 11AM, not the restaurants fault just something to be aware of. read more

Rhett is known for its southern food and does have a kids' menu offering breakfast options and standard dinner fan favorites like grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and cheeseburger. Drinks are an additional $4 for the kiddos. Roasted pork entree was probably the standout of the night. Its skin was nice and crispy, and my husband, who usually only tolerates veggies, commented that the accompanying broccolini and sweet potato purée were tasty too. My shrimp and grits were a little underwhelming. I was expecting the grits to be a little drier vs as soupy as it was, but I'm not a southern cuisine connoisseur. The mushrooms felt out of place and were a bit chewy, and the andouille sausage was the most flavorful part of the meal. Overall, it was a bit bland for me. They did have some outdoor seating for smaller parties that looked really nice. Our food was amazing! Everyone was raving about how good it was. A few of the entrees our party tried were the brioche French toast, chicken and waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and biscuits and gravy. We also tried the Bellini, matcha latte, and the chocolate banana latte. All were delicious! We were celebrating our bride to be and our waitress brought us the most sensational banana bread! None of us were raving about the food, it was decent but not the best we've ever had. The food temperature was also a bit off, nothing tasted fresh, a lot of the items felt as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. We had a bit of sticker shock when the bill was placed in front of us, over $200 for a family of four! We didn't feel like the food (or service) was worth the price we paid. Having a chefs brigade debone 1/2 a chicken and frying it with a well seasoned coating, and serving the meat very moist is a pretty high end and masterful preparation. My wife felt the tomato sauce preparation with her grouper was too overpowering. She ate the grouper, and left the sauce. Food: 4/5 The service was not the best. In fact it was a little annoying. With the proper training, a GM could turn this into a fine dining restaurant, especially with the chops of their kitchen. Both servers that provided service to the tables around us referred to their guests as 'guys'...'Hi Guys, do You Guys need anything , how's the food guys, etc. Not just our server, but the gal that also worked in our section. It was strange and off putting. While our server checked on us occasionally, he NEVER poured our wine for us when he stopped by. Although this is a small item, it separates waitstaff between well trained professional servers, and servers at Hooters. With some better training of the wait staff, Rhett could be a great restaurant. I would love to see this happen and enjoy a better experience at Rhett my next trip to Savannah. read more

We had reservations on Easter. Our waiter was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful. The buffet was disappointing to say the least. It was maybe 15 feet long. In that area there was shrimp cocktail, a carving station, a few breakfast items and an omelette station. The breakfast items were on a table in between the carving and omelette stations. It was a huge bottleneck. The breakfast potatoes were on par with the chewy flavorless ones you get at a hotel. The bread for toast was larger than the toaster. It took 4 minutes per half if you wanted any color on it. There were no pancakes, waffles or french toast for people who don't eat eggs. The cinnamon rolls with the small selection of pastries were hard. It felt like a money grab for Easter. Maybe their regular breakfast is good, but I won't be back to find out. read more

We enjoyed a brief stop here on our Savannah Culinary and Culture walking tour to try the she-crab soup. The she-crab soup was creamy, savory goodness! It had a nice balance of briny saltiness and sweetness from the roe and sherry. I also ordered a Rhett bloody mary and it was good but I assume it is better served in a glass vs. plastic cup (same price either way). With the plastic cup there was no celery salted rim (which I was hoping for) and I'm used to more pizazz in bloody mary toppers than an orange slice and a sprig of dill. My friend's to-go bellini looked better. The main dining room atmosphere looked lively and fun, and the brunch entrees looked delicious. I had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs day one and bacon, eggs, toast, potatoes day 2. I found the biscuits to be very dense and heavy so couldn't eat much, but the food was tasty. Today I had the bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were light and fluffy, the bacon crispy, the way I like it.
