Went in for brunch on a weekday, fairly empty, sat right away and greeted right away by our server, he was fabulous. French toast was yummy, fluffy good flavor, the whipped butter was good. Taylor was our delightful server this morning! She was so kind and thoughtful. We appreciated her attention to detail. I ordered the grit bowl and added an extra egg. It was delicious in every way. Creamy, smooth, chunks of meat and cherry tomatoes. Heaven in a bowl. My sunny side up eggs were perfection. Food came out quick. The manager even came over to ask how everything was. We attended for brunch last week, and even with a busy St Patrick's crowd, the food was great and the service was even better. Our server was incredibly attentive and kind, and always kept our bottomless mimosas topped off. This restaurant is a beautiful restaurant that is right on River Street just across the way from the JW Marriott. Should you have time after eating here, I recommend you walk across to the hotel and enjoy the dinosaur exhibit they have inside the lobby of their hotel. My meal here was phenomenal! Truly a taste of southern comfort cooking. I could not have been happier with my collard greens and fried chicken. Before coming here to Savannah, I had asked friends for suggestions on good restaurants to eat and many recommended coming here. I was not disappointed. The service was amazing, with our Server being very professional and knowledgeable of the specials of the day, and of the menu. She was also very good with suggestions on bottles of wine to enjoy with our meal. Above all, I was so impressed with how attentive the server and the rest of the staff were towards my son, making sure he had a high chair, he was happy with his meal, and all around just being very thoughtful in taking care of our needs. Stopped in for dinner near the river. To start this place is beautiful. So modern industrial and clean. The copper adds a nice tough against the cognac couch and blue high ceilings . I ordered the salmon with sweet potato grit cake and braised kale. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the kale had nice flavor and char. The sweet potato grit cake reminded me of cornbread, but it wasn't sweet. For dessert, my waitress recommended the Cardamom cinnamon beignets. They come with two dipping sauces coffee dulce de leche and nutella ganache. These were phenomenal. Super light and fluffy and perfectly sweet. Overall, the staff is nice. My waitress was super sweet. It's located inside the hotel near the river on the ground level, which is perfect and the food is delicious. I'm so happy I stopped here. During my last weekend trip to Savannah, I ended up eating here twice - once for dinner, once for breakfast. Both were fabulous! At dinner, we started with the cheddar drop biscuits which came in a serving of four (one for each of us). We promptly ordered another round of those because they were so freakin good. The strawberry jam with the country ham mousse?? Phenomenal. I had the grouper which was good, but I've had some outstanding grouper in Charleston so I would probably pick something different for a future dinner order. Everyone was pretty happy with their meals though, and the drinks were good as well. For breakfast, only two of us made it out since we were split amongst a couple of hotels with ours being closer to Rhett. My friend ordered banana bread as a starter which was okay, but it was a tad on the dry side. I'd probably hold off, but I also normally have fancy banana bread with other stuff that provides moisture (like rum, always rum). I had the grits bowl though and it was delicious. There is a grits bowl that I used to get at my local farmers market that is no longer offered and this brought back fond memories of that meal. Read some great reviews about this place so we decided to go here for brunch on our last day in Savannah. We made a reservation on Resy for a patio table. We ended up calling an adding 2 more. I was a bit worried because it said if you had to cancel it was $15 per person, luckily we didn't have to worry about that but it would be a hefty charge had we missed our reservation window! Outdoor seating was great and our server was excellent (wish I would have written his name down...maybe Daniel?). Service was prompt and I loved the first breakfast which was perfectly creamy and the egg was perfection. Had to add S&P and hot sauce to ramp up the flavor but that wasn't a deal breaker. We visited Savannah in September and had dinner at Rhett's on our first night. We made a reservation for that Wednesday evening, but didn't need it. The restaurant wasn't busy, just a few tables occupied. We were greeted and seated right away. The space had a cozy and romantic vibe. Our server was phenomenal. She warned us that they were understaffed and there might be some wait. We appreciated the warning and she was right, there was indeed a wait in between courses. We ordered the following: Get Up & Go $16 Market oysters (half dozen) $21 Chilled king crab Old Bay fries $9 She crab soup $16 Rhett Caesar $15 Grouper $38 The Get Up & Go is their version of the espresso martini, but with cold brew. It was good and I'm glad I tried it, but I would have preferred it with real espresso. Rhett's does serve espresso, but the cocktail comes with a premade mix (I asked). The oysters and chilled king crab legs were fresh and tasty. Great starters. I love seasoned fries and the Old Bay fries hit the spot for me. The she crab soup was creamy and seasoned well. The Rhett caesar was a delicious twist to the classic caesar salad. The grits croutons and fried okra were fantastic additions to the salad. The grouper came with field pea succotash, country ham salad, and tomato vinaigrette. I enjoyed the flavor and different textures. Initially, we were fine with the wait and it was too late to search for a different restaurant. Despite not being in a hurry, we tried to be patient, but the meal took a long time. I think we spent nearly two hours there. Exhausted from traveling coast to coast, we were eager to turn in. Towards the end of our meal, our server disappeared for a while and my husband had to flag someone down to get the check. We really enjoyed the food and would definitely return when we're back in Savannah. I just hope they're fully staffed now. read more

We came here for an early dinner on a Sunday night. We made reservations, but I didn't think we needed it. They were very accommodating as well. We enjoyed a selection of oysters, and I got the special which was a sea bass. The interior is definitely a bit more classy, and the prices definitely reflected that. So was it worth it? I think as a vacation spot and sort of a splurge absolutely. I think it was overpriced, but the preparation and flavors were there. We also got the ceviche and for the night it was made with grouper. For breakfast Rhett obviously gives a damn. With diverse, but not overwhelming choices, they create a welcome space to start the day. You can probably end it there too, but this is a breakfast review. Coffee was ample and piping, service was efficient and friendly, and food was tasty and filling. The country breakfast had all the staples, with egg over medium done correctly. The gravy accompanying the biscuit was a welcomed surprise as well. I nearly picked the blueberry pancakes, but thought I should probably get something more balanced (actually I was worried to get non-real maple syrup). The river-level location makes it feel less like it's the bottom floor of a hotel, and it's a nice close spot off the ferry. I'll return if I get a chance. read more

The host set a poor tone from the start. Rather than asking if we had a reservation, he condescendingly asked, "Were we expecting you?" When we said no, he appeared annoyed and told us there would be a 45-minute wait despite more than 10 empty tables visible in the dining room. We chose to wait at the bar, where we sat with dirty dishes in front of us for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged by the bartender. Ironically, the wait for a table ended up being very short, as the restaurant remained mostly empty. Unfortunately, our server was no better than the host or bartender. The scallop entrée consisted of only four scallops for $46, which is difficult to justify. They were served on a bed of purple cabbage that caused the scallops to turn an unappetizing purple/blue color. The macaroni and cheese, which we expected to be a safe choice, was frankly terrible. We had the hush puppies for an appetizer, which came hot and served with very tasty chipotle honey butter. I did enjoy that dish, though my husband thought they were overcooked. We spilt the blue crab risotto. Unfortunately we both found the taste a little bland. I felt like it needed salt and pepper. Not sure if onions or shallots were used as a base, as is often the case for risotto...am assuming Parmesan cheese was used, but I couldn't taste that if it was, and could not taste the usual flavor conveyed by onions or shallots. We probably should have ordered a classically Southern dish, as that may have fared better in my rating. We ordered hush puppies and calamari to start and the hush puppies came with this spicy butter spread that was so delicious. The calamari had banana peppers and onions fried with them that really gave a nice flavoring. I split the steak frites and carrots with my sister and it was very good. The steak came already cut which made me a little nervous but it was not dry and came with a sweet glaze over the steak. The carrots were so good. They were tri colored carrots with a glaze and were so good. The fries were shoe string fries. They were salted well, nothing special but a nice addition to the meal.
